If the degree is awarded at the right number of credits for NQF level 8 and you meet the requirements for an NQF level 9 masters, then it shouldn't be an issue.
Thank you for the informative content. The Advance Diploma(NQF7) is the best enhancement for a National Diploma holder, for example: 1. The student did not get Bachelor's Entry in the National Senior Cerrtificate(NCS)& therefore had to start on Higher Certificate(NQF5) then to/ or Diploma(NQF6) 2. The candidate has extensive work experience, most institutions refer to it as Recognition Prior Learning(RPL), this means the candidate would go straight to the 1-2 years Adv Diploma without starting on National Certificate or National Diploma, of course the requirements differ from one institution to another. But overall I'm all thumbs up for the Advanced Diploma as it advances the student's qualification & gives the graduate the same knowledge as a Bachelor degree holder because in most cases the Advanced Diploma modules are the same the final level of a Bachelor's.👩🏾🎓👨🏾🎓
Thanks. I have got N6 diploma, GCC & working experience. So I'm not sure if this can grant me a straight registration for Adv Diploma or I'll have to go through the RPL process.

These are both NQF 5 certificates which they calling diplomas. They are not diplomas as recognized by NQF standards rather certificates which have earned you NQF credits on the NQF 5 level. Diploma or degree is based on NQF credits. Each module or subject is about 12 NQF credits. You need to do10 subjects a year = 120 credits X 3 years = 360 NQF Credits = Degree or Advanced Diploma. The difficulty needs to be on an NQF 7. NQF 5 is typical to technical training certificates.
You would need to do 1 year equating to 120 credits on NQF 6 then complete a bridging course then apply for the advanced diploma. So this would take you two years.
These titles are earned. If u did a degree, it is exactly that; and an advanced diploma is also exactly that. To change, you have to study into that degree. You will most probably get credited.

The new diploma and advanced diploma (formerly BTECH) in engineering provide access to the bachelors of engineering technology honors. Reading ecsa documentation it states "The Bachelor of Engineering Technology Honours Degree may form part of a combination of qualifications to meet the educational requirements for registration in the category candidate engineer" The BEngtech (hons) bridges the gap between Adv diploma and masters of engineering and may also allow the progression from Engineering technologist to engineer.
Bsc Eng and Beng guys are not gonna be very happy about this.and yes plausibly what your saying could become fact , but at the moment institutions are busy developing Professional Masters programs in order to make the allegations true
Also , as far as content goes ,the outgoing btech and the incoming Advanced diploma are same nqf level but not the same ,structure and outcomes wise. According to a long lost forgotten source : btech specialized whereas Adv Dip will generalize
@@jasonnewilloughby6291 I can imagine that they would not be to happy but i guess everyone should be allowed to progress in their careers, and i think that the generalization is a good approach because I am currently at cput a university of technology that is running both the new and old diploma qualification (for the moment) and I see there are fewer electives, and modules are grouped together for example where i had maths 1 to 3 it will now be a single module of maths this basically forces students take on the difficult subjects.
I do understand the frustration with the older guard(the ND and Btech guys) .unfortunately and fortunately, the world is moving in one direction, and so too , should we
@@jasonnewilloughby6291 lol who cares if they are not gonna be happy the NDip, BTech and BEng Tech (hons) route is extremely challenging, having to go to industry before getting the NDip then going back for 2 degrees afterwards is not easy
Hi I need help Im doing an Bachelor's of Engineering technology in computer engineering 3 year degree. So at the end of my degree will I be a qualified engineer?
Yes and no, it depends on what you mean by engineer? I have a national diploma in electrical engineering and every company I've worked for called me an engineer
Hi Zanele. Thanks for all your videos so far, it's been really helpful! I was wondering if you'd be able to answer my question and share some light on this topic! Could I start with a Higher Certificate, then move onto a diploma and work my way up to a degree of NQF 7? I'd really appreciate if you could help me. thanks
Hi there.. yes definatley!! The best thing about what SAQA has done is that there is an opportunity for progression. I posted a video a few days ago on the different types of qualifications- answers how to progress there! Let me know if it helps
Do you know what a university of technology is?...from the videos I have watched..you don't know the difference.. between a "college" and a University of technology..a college is for artisans..a university of technology.. previously known as a "Technikon"..is the qualifications that you often talk about ...but don't know the institution's..you call them "college's "..there are two kinds of diplomas..1 for artisans and engineering technicians..which you obviously don't know the distinction between the two..since your a "Traditional" engineer from UCT and Stellenbosch..like they the only institution's in the western cape..please be informed on the subject..of "low lying" engineering qualifications..that "maybe"..below you..as an "engineer" Reading up on it is not enough..the course content..National Diploma,Btech degree in any type of engineering..you are butchering it..you obviously don't know what your talking about..You just heard about it..the difference between a advance diploma and a Btech or "Bachelors degree" from the "so called " traditional universities that you like to mention...is glorified too much..by you..you don't know what type of course work or practical is done at Technikons..not "college's"..college's produce artisans..that need to be trade tested..technicians don't need that . obvious your thumb sucking it...
I think it's she's confusing comprehensive universities (UJ etc) with Universities of Technology (TUT, CUT etc). "Colleges" better know as FET or TVET colleges do not offer advanced diplomas only national n diplomas. Which is not the same as National Diplomas. To be fair engineering qualifications in South Africa are a mess. Now there's BEng Tech which is the same as old BTech and current Adv Dipl. Anyway she does have a bias but that's expected from anyone
@@lukealadeen7836 she dont know what she talking about..thats my problem..she doesnt know..whats a "college"..or Technikon or she doesnt know what is the distinction..between the work or exposure of the two..but still insists on "offering" insights in the matter....strange..."colleges" offer higher Certificate Diploma...for artisans....Technikon or University of technology offers a National Diploma..for ""Engineering Technician"..who are the bridge between traditional Engineers and artisans...the content of their course, she obviously dont know.."just throw in..practical"..then its summed up..not true!!!..all I think t she knows is trades..to what extent..is is still unknown...Engineering technicians ..she has No idea what they do..so her explanation for the adv diploma will be flawed...because she dont even know what a Btech degree entails...she read a summary somewhere..never bothered to speak to a practicing Engineering Techonologist in the field....she must stick to UCT and Stellenbosch content.

No you must do a post graduate first after your advanced diploma . after post graduate then masters
Hlo im studying now higher diploma in hotel management and tourism after that can i directly study masters?
Higher diploma in South Africa?
After finished my advance diploma... Can i apply for Post graduate or master degree
Yes as you have enough NQF credits
Honours Degree & Postgraduate Diploma
The new diploma and advanced diploma (formerly BTECH) in engineering provide access to the bachelors of engineering technology honors.
Reading ecsa documentation it states "The Bachelor of Engineering Technology Honours Degree may form part of a combination of qualifications to meet the educational requirements for registration in the category candidate engineer"
The BEngtech (hons) bridges the gap between Adv diploma and masters of engineering and may also allow the progression from Engineering technologist to engineer.

I can imagine that they would not be to happy but i guess everyone should be allowed to progress in their careers, and i think that the generalization is a good approach because I am currently at cput a university of technology that is running both the new and old diploma qualification (for the moment) and I see there are fewer electives, and modules are grouped together for example where i had maths 1 to 3 it will now be a single module of maths this basically forces students take on the difficult subjects.
You music is too loud with noise
Hi I need help
Im doing an Bachelor's of Engineering technology in computer engineering
3 year degree.
So at the end of my degree will I be a qualified engineer?
Yes. You can do bachelor of honors after if you want
Mukendii Drums No you’ll be a qualified technologist you’ll need to do your Honors if you intend to be a qualified engineer
@@killerg4402 what time will it take to do that?
Also can I take this ad. Diploma after 12th?
Let me know if it helps
what about if you wanna shift from AD Diploma to honours Degre
Let me know if this helps.. speaking about the different qualifications

sbwl
That's Bachelors degree.
the twanging in here yoh...
I completed my 12th in 2017 with 97% , is it possible to get visa now ? (For the diploma course)
