I really appreciate the way you've presented this video. Simple, straightforward, time stamped, and the patches are varied enough to give a sense of what the synth's capable of within each patch style. Thankyou. P.S the sound design is really great too!
Hi Anton, I purchased your patches a while ago, all 64 of them. Really impressed with the quality and variety of the sounds. I've tweaked them to my own preference, but really useful to have a decent sound to manipulate rather than having to start from blank.. Nice one..
@@AntonAnru So far I've just been using the sound patches and haven't touched the sequencer patterns. I might have a go later, but it does seem like a bit of a cheat, and I do rather enjoying putting my own tunes together.
Hello again Anton, I have a question, can i sync my Electribe 2 with the Crave. I want to use the Electribe as a drummachine. But wil it sync the bpm ? Can you tell me how, please?
i too, own an alectribe... you ll need a midi adapter, but not all of them will work.. i recommend an adapter from teenage engineering, they work for me
the patches are saved as images with settings. then you should recreate the sounds using the images. you may try this: th-cam.com/video/6oG6lAOHN9k/w-d-xo.html
@@AntonAnru based on your sound design the edge is my favo well. Unfortunately sold out everywhere, so I have to wait. 😪😪😪 I thought about buying something else, but im affraid to regret it.
I am a bit confused. Where are these presets located in the crave? I was unaware it had presets. Or are they loaded to a DAW and played through the Crave?
Patches for semi modular synths like crave are shared in the form of PDF document with pictures. You should recreate sounds manually according to the pictures
@@AntonAnru Thanks. So the patches are in pdf form downloaded to a pc and then fed to audio in on the Crave? Have I got this process correct? How do the pictures come into it please?
@@AntonAnru Ahh okay I get it now. I am an oldie so stuff takes a bit longer to sink in. I set the knobs, switches and arrange the patch cables according to the pdf file picture!
@@AntonAnru Yes! When i got Crave, i was disappointed by the sound of the oscillator. For me it sounds harsh, tinny, grainy... > I decided to learn the sequencer properly Now i use it to animate Moog Mavis, and i now think Crave seq is very good indeed. The ratchet feature is great. Lots of memory banks allow you to trial variations, and variations of variations. You can get the sequencer's accent feature working well with Mavis by patching Crave VCA out to Mavis VCA in. When you do that, you use Crave EG alongside Mavis EG in a complex way. I will probably find other cross patches between the two synths that work well. Other may think differently, but I think Crave is a seq people can consider for modular You have to give it some hours to learn (and maybe i'll get to like the Crave osc some day, though not just yet, for me) EDIT -I just watched your Crave filter sounds and colours video........great work....maybe I can get to like the osc sooner : )
@@AntonAnru thought so, i use Reaper DAW, like it much more than Ableton. I guess it is also possible to send clock from another synth to the crave to "set" the tempo. thanks for your answer.

You got some cool clean sounds out of your Crave, wicked! I love this unit, had mine for a week now.

64 patterns

Thank you for support. Good luck with music

Yes, sure. You may sync then via midi

beautyfull sounds! Did u use an Reverb, and if so which one?
Thank you. Yes, i used delays/reverbs. Sorry, but i don't remember which ones

Choice between edge or crave, what would it be and why?
I'd take edge/dfam. It's very unique and inspiring. M32/crave can be more or less substituted by other synths
@@AntonAnru based on your sound design the edge is my favo well. Unfortunately sold out everywhere, so I have to wait. 😪😪😪 I thought about buying something else, but im affraid to regret it.
@@AntonAnru any thoughts on the behringer system 100?
Edge/dfam are worth waiting
I didn't try it. Not very interested in it
Do you know if this will power a midi keyboard that doesn’t have its own separate power? (Novation Keystation Mini mk2)
Synths don't power supply midi keyboards
@@AntonAnru some do, I suppose. At least some of workstations surely do.

No. You just look at the picture and make settings as on the picture. I've got a free crave pack on my website. You may start with it

@petercane6376 yes. Each patch has an audio example that help to understand if the patch is recreated correctly
Way too harsh sounding for me. Makes me want to sell my Crave! lol
Love your Kobol Expander patches btw!!
Thank you
can you use balanced cables ?
Didn't try, honestly. Can't answer
As far as I can tell yes :)
I've looked into this and you can use Stereo Cables (Not classed as Balanced) But there is more info on this at MuffWriggles
Is there any advantage of the Crave over the Neutron (apart from the shitty sequencer)?
I can't agree that the sequencer is shitty. On the contrary, I find it very interesting. In combination with the patchbay it can do crazy things.
@@AntonAnru Yes!

beginner question, how would you set a tempo like 120bpm? how would you achieve that?
It's only possible if you use some external indication of bpm. For example, send clock from crave to Ableton and you'll see the bpm
@@AntonAnru thought so, i use Reaper DAW, like it much more than Ableton. I guess it is also possible to send clock from another synth to the crave to "set" the tempo. thanks for your answer.
Yes, you may sync it with any other source that is set to 120bpm
@@AntonAnru Do you also happen to know if it is possible to send the clock sync signal from a PO-12 to the Crave?
Theoretically yes, but never used PO, can't say for sure
