Just go ahead and buy one man. Worth it. If you truly don’t like it (highly doubt) then you can always sell it and get a good amount of your money back. Just know that it’s meant to be used and not a fidget toy to be opened and closed 49305 times a week while you watch TV
I love all my small sebenza's. Most days, one of them or another is what I'm carrying. I have a LOT of knives, but I just kinda miss them when I'm carrying something else. Thanks, as always, for all your thoughts on all the knives, Sir.
Great video. Thanks for mentioning the lock rock. I was going to ask about it if you did not. That has been one of the things that has been holding me back on getting one and the less availability of left hand version of what I want.
Great video! I was hesitant about getting a CR for a long time because I was afraid I wouldn't like the thumb roll action and, for me, it's pricey. I finally got a pj large Inkosi and love it! It's Insingo blade can be "flicked" open, but rolling it out with my thumb makes me smile. Thanks for the review.
I've really come to love the Inkosi over the Sebenza this year. For my hand, the additional sculpting of the handle is perfect and the action feels much less stiff, dare I say flippable. Also, the lockbar is less tight, which may be the reason for the action, my thumb appreciates this very much when disengaging. Great video! 👍
I played with one of these a little bit and you can tell they are really well made. Felt nice in the hand but the frame lock was a deal breaker for me.
Good choice with the Tanto Zaan. I got mine fairly recently and really like it. The one thing I don’t like is where the tip of the pocket clip falls in the hand. Same clip as on my small Sebenzas and it doesn’t bother me on those at all. I ended up taking off pretty quickly and for my needs I’m going to leave it clipless. I’ll probably grab one of the filler tab things for it at some point. Mine is in glass blast which I generally prefer from CRK. I think I still want to try and get a drop point Zaan too at some point.
I own a bunch of these. S45VN and magnacut. Inkosi doesn't rock, for whatever reason. I have 3 of them and they are all solid, small and large. I have two large seb 31 and 4 small ones. All of small ones have movement. One large one does not and I really tried. How tight they are differs greatly from knife to knife. They all end up smooth but some with lighter pressure than others. Last small seb I got wins by a mile, but that's just how it turns out. Inoksi you can adjust the pivot, it's constructed differently. When opening the thumb stud don't point your thumb on the point, use the edge/side of it (or angle your thumb) and press it against the side of the stud. You will never feel any pain or discomfort. Performance wise with MC vs S45VN I don't know. I haven't pushed the MC ones enough. My most carried out of the lot is a plain small seb 31 in S45VN. Been carrying and using that for about 3 years. I used one of the large ones with MC on few projects and I have not had to sharpen it. For the clip. I HIGHLY recommend either getting a milled TI/Timascus/Zircuti from RGT or the flat deep carry from Lynch Northwest. Both of those choices make it immeasurably better when you gorilla grip the thing. No hot spots, has a better fit for the pocket and they look better, but they also cost 100+ bucks each :/ My top pocket knife is still the Rosie, but I carry the small sebenza more than any other knife.
@@doodysdaggers Inkosi uses the same ceramic ball. Hence why I find it strange that it does not flex. It's either that or I got lucky on the three I own.
They widen out at the tip and I have a difficult time getting the last quarter inch to sharpen. Other than that, I live it. I also think they all should come with 2 thumb studs.
@@doodysdaggersdo it! I got mine recently. Only thing I don’t like about it is where the clip falls in the hand so mine is now clipless. Also it looks really nice in the glass blasted finish so I was happy that when I finally scored one that’s what it was in. This was my first large CRK, I’ve just got small Sebenzas otherwise (one in each of the 3 blade shapes - one PJ in bead blast finish and the other two are glass blasted with inlays). One more thing, if you put a tiny drop of the line that CRK supplies on a pin head and put it between the frame and the lanyard pin it will stop the rattling. I actually did that before taking the clip off my Zaan.
I have three CRK's, and had several others in the past. I personally think they are overrated/overpriced for what they are. I almost never carry mine anymore
Lock rock is not on all Sebenzas! ONLY on the 31! On the 21 it doesn't happen. Trust me i own 8 21s and owned several throughout the years. No 31 for me though. The 21 is the perfect pocket knife
For what it's worth, my 31 large doesn't seem to have any lock rock (🔒🎸) Perhaps I wasn't pushing hard enough, but I checked it a few times and it seems solid.
Great video. I have the Inkosi s35 for 6-7 years now and has beautiful wear snail trails has character and great smooth action.
Yep. They are great. I have a small and large Sebenza. I want to get the large inkosi plain next. Thanks for the 6 month update.
The grail use video! Thanks for the update!
it's a timeless design...I still have yet to handle one unfortunately

Sent my large Sebenza 31 in for sharpening very quick turn around less than a week and got it back. Very sharp from them highly recommend
Wow, that's quick! 🤩

Right on! I’d like to try an Inkosi
Good review. You nailed it. I feel the exact same way about it, except I just didn’t love it enough to keep it.
Yeah.. think you’re done with Chris Reeve or will you try a different one?
Glad to hear your thoughts on this. Ima get one as soon as tax season rolls around.
That movement in the lock is why I have 3 21's and 0 31's. I prefer the titanium on steel older lock interface.
Yeah I think I’d prefer a 21 too
I played with one of these a little bit and you can tell they are really well made. Felt nice in the hand but the frame lock was a deal breaker for me.
Still have yet to handle a CRK. Been hunting a tanto Zaan for awhile though.
You and me both haha

If the lock rock is an issue find you a Sebenza 21, they don’t use the detent ball as the lock interface.
Yeah I’d like a 21
@@doodysdaggersI have a small 21 if you’d like to compare the difference 👍
I've tried CRK and Hinderer. For me the strider PT/SnG fit just right. I get the hype though! CRK objectively makes amazing knives.
You should try the imamba!! It’s a little bigger then the small sebenza and so much better
I want to!

Great comment, thank you! Yeah I would love an Inkosi one of these days. Guess that one just has a regular framelock setup

I don't like the idea of sharp thumbstuds or lock rock but I do want to try one someday. Too iconic not to try.
I love CRK and own 1 small and 5 large. My favorite is the Zaan, I have 2. That’s pretty much all I carry.

Love all 3 of my Seb21s, i dont own a 31, but my Inkosi has the ceramic ball and his rock solid with no lock rock so not sure why the 31 is different!
Interesting, good to know!
my Land 910Plus is still awesome

Not the Inkosi but I have cut tested an Umnumzaan. I like it, I want one

The Sebenza, big or little, is meant to get the hell beat of it. They look good with snail trails like the bluing wear on an old Colt.
Amen!
Why don’t you like MagnaCut? You’re the only person I’ve heard say they don’t like it. I personally have never used it.
It doesn’t have great edge retention. Its primary attribute is stainlessness, which I don’t care about. I’d rather have great edge retention
@@doodysdaggers it might not even be the magnacut, CR runs a soft heat treat on their knives, kind of unfortunate for the price of them
@@ntstick06they heat treat Magnacut at 63-64 which is optimal and not soft.
My large Sebenza 31 has zero lock rock. Not saying most don't have it, but they don't all have it.
Not my cup O tea. I like a lot of what Kris Reeve does, the Sabenza is not one of them.
Yea after some thinking it ain’t for me either. I can never really get that sabenza itch. I prefer the mcnees pm mac 2.
