well sorted. Shows our insanity building these things. Never-ending. I have no desire to seriously compete because it will cost me more time and money that I am already exceeding my plans. Bought and built a very mild build of an Everest 10 for my 10yr-old nephew. Just finished a build of a Gen 7 sport for my old son's best friend. It now has a bunch of pro parts and other stuff to make it capable, but not a serious rig. About to do a very mild build on a Gen 7 pro for my brother-in-law so he can wheel with fore-mentioned nephew. Technically we don't have a lot of RCs except we kinda do. I am about to embark on a quest to make all the old toy-grade RCs we have from when the boys were growing up into somewhat hobby-grade RCs. Servos, receivers, ESCs, new motorvation, etc. Nothing crazy, but lets explore what more these can do because the only reason we advanced to bigger/better stuff was because we exhausted what those were capable of.

@@douggregoryHOTMotorsports I have wanted to take a toy grade boat and update it with big electronics and motors. Best of luck with your plans. Get it on video. : )

Thing looks like a beast! Definitely one of the cooler Gen 7 setups Ive seen.

Thank you. 🙂 It is a beast. I have entered it in three competitions over the last two years and it has taken first place in Class 2 each time. It has even held the lowest scoring run of the entire event at least once regardless of class.
More has been done since this video was made. The link below shows a few of the latest mods added for scale points at competitions.

WOW! You have done a lot of mods. I love watching the RedCat videos you put on here. I’ve been doing a few mods to my Gen 7 but nothing compared to yours. I have an Element Ecto but find myself messing around with the Gen 7 more. Thank you for sharing I’m sure it will help others that want to mod their trucks.

I talk my truck up but unless you see what it can do for yourself it is not believable. The Gen 7 has tremendous potential.
Keep modding. It gets better every time. Keep top weight light, the front axle heavy and just enough weight on the tail to keep it from flipping forward on decent. Other than that, make sure each piece can move through its full range without interpherance.

Oh I’ve seen some of the videos I believe you!

I have always been a fan of stiffer foams. I like the dirty richard brand. Cheap and work good for me.

There is a misconception that soft foams are better. In every case where I have compared them with stiffer foams they performed much worse. I see guys driving around on tires that are basically flat. It never works well.
Soft sidewalls collapse and roll trucks trying to sidehill. They also don't steer well when the front tires need to bite.
Traction comes from compound and tread pattern. I have not found a scenario where mushieness holds a tremendous advantage. It is not conventional thinking but I'll bet most people's rigs can't follow mine. 😉

Hey buddy appreciate your work on the channel. U have another Redcat Gen7 fan here. Anyways do u have any recommendations for brushed motors? I currently run a Hobbywing QUICRUN 1080 G2 with a CrawlMaster Sport 550(13T). Anyways I was wondering if you recommend any type of motor step up? Thanks in advance

Good afternoon. What center chassis’s/transmission mount is that?

    • @EXPIOWA
      @EXPIOWA  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It is a Vader skidplate. In order to use it, the center pivot balls on the lower links need to be narrowed. The slot is not wide enough for the stock ones to both fit otherwise.

@EXPIOWA awesome thank you! Did you also need to build new lower links?

Do you have the stock Receiver

Yes. It works great and barely uses batteries.
