I can't believe you still haven't done his "Three Times a Lady" from when he was with The Commodores. She will LOVE it and it is one of the most memorable songs of the Super 70s.
I went on holiday with two mates and a girlfriend. She had the only cassette in the car, so we heard that non-stop for five days. That cassette was Lionel Richie's debut solo album. I was a heavy rock man through and through, but after that holiday I bought Lionel's album. I still love it, especially 'My Love'.
Thanx for sharing that...I have always loved investigating music outside of my favorite genres because I always find some artists and/or songs that I love for a lifetime. I'm guessing that's why many of us are a Sub to this channel...
Bill! You are so right! He wrote Lady for Kenny Rogers and I love that song! I am from Alabama and he attended Tuskegee Institute which is now Tuskegee University! He is a favorite son of the south!😎❤️
@@Fruit17-ip4vl "Ĺady" is arguably my favorite Kenny Rogers song. It's funny, as I was listening to their reaction to "My Love," I was thinking about how it would've sounded if Kenny had sung it. I think it would've been great, just like Lionel's version. 🙂
Great song. Can't believe you have not done " Endless Love" with two of your favorites, Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. Looking forward to it. And as always, Thanks for sharing.
My Love. (#5 in the US in 1983) Last single on his first solo album, which had "Truly" (#1) and "You Are" (#4) Lionel released 13 singles between 1981-1986 Every song made the Top 10. Five made it to #1
This is one of my favorite Lionel Richie songs. It’s often overlooked, but it’s one of his very best…and that’s saying a lot. He’s got so many great ones.
Lionel Ritchie, the greatest writer of love songs of the R&B/R&R era. This is one of my very favorites and I'm glad you guys found it. There's many more in his arsenal such as "Ballerina Girl", "Three Times A Lady", "Zoom", "Truly", and "Still".
"Endless Love"!!! That was the 3rd biggest hit of the 80's!!! I would also love for them to react to "Still" by the commodores, the LONG version! It's 100% pure platinum!!! 😎
I love this song by Lionel Richie. You don't hear it alot but it was always a good song. But then all of Lionel's songs to me were good. The ones he sung with the Commodores the ones he did by himself and the ones he wrote for other artists. He was the whole package. He was the real deal.
Lionel Richie next songs you guy's should do is "Three Times A Lady" which is a Ultimate Classic along with " Just To Be Close To You" his two biggest hits.
This song immediately takes me back to 1984 and this girl I was going with at the time named Lisa. That whole first solo album of Lionel's was a huge album for us and this song was on our mixtape. What a great walk down Memory Lane. Oh, and that girl, Lisa I was going with? She's now my wife. Thanks, guys...
I’m in tears already…reminds me of my youth..love, heart break and forever great memories. And, Lionel is my Mom’s favorite singer! She loves him on American Idol! 😊❤️
Lionel Ritchie & his music is woven through the tapestries of so many people's lives. The "I can't remember when you weren't there" lyric from Kenny Roger's Through the Years is how I feel about Lionel Ritchie & The Commodores' music. This song still hits me right in the feels. 🤩👑🎼
I just lost my husband two days ago. This was the song he dedicated to me a day after he and I argued a few years ago. And I am dying inside even more when I just watched this reaction to MY LOVE. I miss my honey.
Amber, you're a treasure. I closed my eyes when Lionel started singing and when I opened them, you were doing the exact same thing! Not only do you have the inherent ability to understand the various music you react to, you feel it deeply. Rock on!
I love ANYTHING by Lionel Ritchie! When he was with The Commodores...to when he went out on his own... i loved it!! I am still a huge fan and listen to his music all the time. My favorite CD is "Lionel Ritchie Truly: The Love Songs". Amber you would LOVE this album/CD....its very relaxing. 🎶❤️🎶
Mr. Richie is one of my top artists from his genre, along with this hit as well. Sincerity at it's best. Amber I think ur an empath, you feel music so deeply. Takes one to recognize that. Richie is a judge again this season on American Idol, was just watching him this past weekend. He looks really great fir his 70's❣️ Y'all b safe & well.
If your 👂👂 are attuned, you can hear some country music influence. Lionel Richie, has one of the most soulful, smoothest voices ever, in American music. I'm a dirt road country boy, and this song hit me. And Lionel kept giving with the song Lady, which he gifted to another vocal treasure, Kenny Rogers. Keep giving and sharing the gift of music.
The Commodores song ‘Still’ is a beautiful song that’s sung by Lionel Richie. I think you would both love it! It was extremely popular back in the day!
This is one of my favorite songs EVER written... the other one is 'Lady' that Lionel wrote for Kenny Rogers! Lionel's music is so much a part of my heart and soul!!! It's so difficult to pick favorites when you're a singer and musician. Plus, I am a huge Garth Brooks fan... I struggle to pick Lionel's music over Garth's as a songwriter. But if I'm honest, Lionel's songs are better! Lionel also has the BEST stories from being in the music industry. God, I wish he would write a book! Whenever anyone asks if he's going to, he just says, "I can't. They're not all dead, yet"! LOL! Now if I could just get Garth to record 'My Love' either by himself or as a duet with his wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood!
As I get older, I go back to the Motown sounding songs and this reminded me of songs I used to listen to decades ago. This morning I was listening to one song that brings me to tears every single time - Stevie Wonder - Lately. This is one of the most heart-wrenching songs of loss I have ever heard with not a note out of tune. I know you've done some Stevie in the past but this song is sure to bring you both to tears as well. Maybe check it out :) Thank you x
Lionel Richie had quite a portfolio of music between the Commodores and his solo career. A few I would recommend are Endless Love, his duet with Diana Ross, Love Will Find A Way, and Truly.
This song was Lionel Richie's third and last Top 10 coming from his self-titled solo debut album back in 1982. The song peaked at the #5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1983. A beautiful love song indeed!!!
I can't believe you still haven't done his "Three Times a Lady" from when he was with The Commodores. She will LOVE it and it is one of the most memorable songs of the Super 70s.
Three Times a Lady is my absolute favorite Lionel Richie (Commodores) song out of the numerous, numerous great songs he has.
That and also Still. Although they have reacted to Sail On, those 3 are like my super trio :)
And they haven't done "Just To Be Close To You" either? Those two were his biggest hits.
Thank you for this reaction. Lionel is awesome. Please react to Three Times A Lady.
Exactly
"Endless Love" is a song written by Lionel Richie and originally recorded as a duet between Richie and Diana Ross..... guys you'll love it
He also does it with Shania Twain 😊
"Still" is a beautiful song too.

Kenny Rogers is doing background vocals on this. Love their collaborations.
I didn't know that! Wow! Thanks for the info!
Kenny and Lionel were great friends for over thirty years. Lionel wrote Lady for Kenny and they did it as a duet together!
Lionel Richie is one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our era... or ANY era!
Can't argue that for sure

Lionel Richie is one of my all-time favorite artist. He's a national treasure.
Pure talent and class

I think you would love ~~Oh No~~ by The Commodores.. Lionel's voice is so amazing.
He was so big back then……. Love his style❤❤
Lionel Richie absolutely captivates me with his smooth, easy voice. I could listen to him forever ! Thanks for a great Saturday song for us.
Went through high school with Lionel Ritchie, so smooth!
This is one of my favorite Lionel Richie songs. It’s often overlooked, but it’s one of his very best…and that’s saying a lot. He’s got so many great ones.

Jay/Amber, you'll love his "Truly" and "Endless Love" (w/ Diana Ross) !!!!!

Lionel Ritchie and his piano are legendary. His song writing ability is right there with the greatest who have ever done it.
Lionel's songs were the background music for high school date nights in the 80s.
Butter
I had forgotten how great this song was.
Another great ballad to check out is: Michael Johnson - "Bluer Than Blue" (1978)
“TRULY” is one of his most beautiful ballads. It never fails to get me teary.
Kenny Rogers harmony vocal on this is the icing on the cake, great song ❤
I think his best song is "Still" when he was with the Commodores.
Lionel Richie next songs you guy's should do is "Three Times A Lady" which is a Ultimate Classic along with " Just To Be Close To You" his two biggest hits.
this one was a big hit for him and it was all over the radio waves when i was a kid. thanks, guys.
Songs like this will never be created again people just don't feel this way about each other anymore
Nothing but hits from this guy.
His relationship with Kenny Rogers! 😊 Kenny sings backup and Lionel wrote some of Kenny’s songs! Incredible collaboration of these two artists! ❤

Lionel Richie makes beautiful music.
This man has been providing me joy since I was a kid. He's got that magic touch.
My favorite underrated Lionel song. I play this song so much whenever i think about my wife 😢

Seeing this man Live is like listening to the album … one of the most incredible artists imo
Amber wear's her heart and beautiful soul on her sleeve. She let's you experience a romantic song along with her. She's great at this. ✌️
Just sit back, close your eyes, and relax to this hit. Lionel is an amazing artist. I do suggest "My Destiny" next.
I just lost my husband two days ago. This was the song he dedicated to me a day after he and I argued a few years ago. And I am dying inside even more when I just watched this reaction to MY LOVE. I miss my honey.
I absolutely love this man's voice ❤ I'm singing right along with him.
One of my favorite Lionel Richie songs
Amber, you're a treasure. I closed my eyes when Lionel started singing and when I opened them, you were doing the exact same thing! Not only do you have the inherent ability to understand the various music you react to, you feel it deeply. Rock on!
Amen ! Great song! Many a slow dance or couples skates to this! ❤🙏 Great reaction!
Say You, Say Me is my favorite Lionel Richie song.
You've now done all but one of my favorite Lionel Richies songs. Now you just need to play "My Destiny". You'll love the groove.
I always liked that one. From 1992. I really love Tender Heart from 2001 too.
He did a duet called endless love. That both will love
Nobody can write a love ballad quite like Lionel. Nobody.
GOOD PICK!! :) I remember slow dancing to this at dances in High School! SO GOOD!!! Thanks, Ya'll, for the reactions!! :)
Lionel and/or Commodores have great music. Many hit songs..
I love ANYTHING by Lionel Ritchie!

Truly, Still, Love Will Conquer All, Ballerina Girl
Lionel is a master at ballads! His first solo album was chock full of hits too! Check his work with The Commodores: "Still", "Oh No"....
Welcome to Lionel in the 80s and 90s! Such a legend... an icon! Such great music! ❤
Kenny Roger's backup vocals on this just makes it that much better!!❤
Great reaction! I love this song but my favorite is "three times a lady " played the heck out of the 45 I had! Thanks for the fun 😊😊😊
This song reminds me of “Easy” so much. He took the Commodores vibe and turned it into something even more special.
He was the artist that King Charles asked to top the bill at last year's Coronation Concert.
Absolutely love this tune, Lionel is the king of romance in song.
Thanks for the memories Jay and Amber.
Great selection. You two never disappoint. Love to the family..
🎶👩🦳🫶👍👋🙃🎵🌟🤎💜💚
I think you two would love "Love Will Conquer All" and "Dancing on the Ceiling " by Lionel.

❤ The best of the best of Lionel Richie ❤
Phenomenal smooth jam!
"Do it to me" by Lionel Richie. This will be your new favorite Lionel song.
Have you done his duet with Diana Ross? Its called "Endless Love." With Diana's falsetto and his smooth voice, the song hit the top for a long time.
He was so much of my childhood and teens in the 70s and 80s... True legend, thank you from the UK 🇬🇧
Wow. This song takes me back to High School. ❤❤❤. I love you two. The smiles on your faces watching these videos makes me smile.
Love Lionel Ritchie
One of the best slow dancin' song ever. Beautiful and oh so smooth, but how can it not be comin' out Lionel. Thanx so much, take care, Peace

If you haven't, you need to listen to Deep River Woman with Lionel and Alabama! It's great!! You get Lionel and Randy Owen singing...wow!!
This is live.... you ought to hear the studio version too. It is perfect!
Love Lionel Richie, he was great in concert in those days 👍♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
Great ballads, a fun one for a video, is ‘Dancin’ on the Ceiling’! You need to do that!! All of his ballads are certainly great!!❤❤🔥🔥
Need to listen to "Deep River Woman" co-sung with Alabama - great song !

You have to watch Lionel and Kenny Rogers singing together! They were friends for almost 50 years. They sound amazing together!
