The fossilized coral is a beautiful stone composed from quartz and calcite. The copper wire compliments it nicely. I enjoy watching your videos because you give me refreshing ideas that I can change and adjust to suit me. I've been wrapping for more than a decade. No two pieces are the same because no two stones or people, for that matter, are the same. I let the stone 'talk' to me as to how it would look best. When I broke my wrist in four places my wrapping became my therapy and my comfort zone. My 'mudway' (it's no longer a driveway) has been my source for mica, feldspar, diorite, garnet, pink and white quartz crystals. My husband gets a little cranky with me. But his customers love me. And many a pendant gets them out of the doghouse with the wifey. So it's a win-win situation.🤭
Thank you Oxana for another marvellous tutorial. To add to your advice about using copper wire, the other very good reason for using copper is that it oxidised beautifully which makes the piece multi dimensional when complete. The more complex the piece the better the result. Gold does not oxidise. Silver does but in my personal experience doesn’t end up looking as good as the oxidised copper. Argentium silver in particular tends to end up with a slight greyish cast. Sterling is better in my opinion for oxidising. I have not used brass or bronze wire so can’t give an opinion on them.

I did this with my 40cm long rectangular agate. It turned out beautiful. Thank you!
Love this sun design, and also seeing a tutorial using a rectangular stone! ❣👍
Thank you! 😊

I'm so happy to hear you are enjoying wire wrapping so much, that's great you are even finding your own stones!
@@OxanaCrafts Duane doesn't think so. But they're just so pretty. Oh, well, he'll get over it.
I love the way you created the sun on this piece. Very clever! As always it is a beautiful project. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Gorgeous, I can’t wait to try making that design. Thanks for sharing your time and designs.

I do love the look of oxidized copper. I have tried it with bronze and it is nice too, more of a golden color
