When listening to this I was reminded of some Native American activists siding with Hamas, calling them freedom fighters and saying how those particular people would like to do the same thing as Hamas to other Americans. I have always fully supported Native American rights and all rights for all people. Being American myself who has mixed ancestry as most Americans do, some of my ancestors being indigenous, and my other Western European ancestors being here for centuries, I was deeply shocked. The West is an outgrowth of ancient Middle Eastern culture, though pre-Arabic. The West is dominated by an Abrahamic religion. The craddles of the Wsst (the Mediterranean) were very intertwined with the Levant. The Neolithic Revolution bringing agriculture to Europe came from the Middle East accompanied by a huge wave of Anatolian settlers--so even a genetic component. Studying Ancient Anatolia, Mesopotamia, the Levant as a Westerner, should make you realize this is also your history to a significant degree.
Pre-Arabic is key. The west has had many influences, and managed many reforms of their own. Not that the west isn't flawed, but in 2024, it is still among the best regions where communities and individuals can still flourish as humans. I notice that many people are proud of their heritage and want to remind others of their positive history and influence - which is wonderful - however, to deal with problems in the present you have to deal with the harsh realities of what any society has become. The Middle East as a region, and certain countries in particular, need to still look within to find the answers to some of its ongoing issues in the present, just as the west must, too.

It's Islam. There's it's such a disproportionate amount of terrorism and violence in the religion and significant Muslims hold those values. This is what caused the Crusades

This is also why Israelis are beautiful in general, providing that they are mixed and not from the same schtettel for generations.

The West is an outgrowth of ancient Middle Eastern culture, though pre-Arabic. The West is dominated by an Abrahamic religion. The craddles of the Wsst (the Mediterranean) were very intertwined with the Levant. The Neolithic Revolution bringing agriculture to Europe came from the Middle East accompanied by a huge wave of Anatolian settlers--so even a genetic component. Studying Ancient Anatolia, Mesopotamia, the Levant as a Westerner, should make you realize this is also your history to a significant degree.
Pre-Arabic is key. The west has had many influences, and managed many reforms of their own. Not that the west isn't flawed, but in 2024, it is still among the best regions where communities and individuals can still flourish as humans. I notice that many people are proud of their heritage and want to remind others of their positive history and influence - which is wonderful - however, to deal with problems in the present you have to deal with the harsh realities of what any society has become. The Middle East as a region, and certain countries in particular, need to still look within to find the answers to some of its ongoing issues in the present, just as the west must, too.

Very true. The pre-Arabic description of the ME is important. It hasn't always been so, which people should know...and it certainly hasn't always been predominantly Islamic.

As a lawyer and an activist you believe in the power of your endeavors which is commendable, but as a Christian I believe that what’s going on in the world right now is a raging battle between the good and the evil (aka God and the Devil).
