If you want a fun short track race like the LA Coliseum but with a full field, the track Colorado National Speedway is the shortest track with a full pit road I can think of

For Stenhouse, he was going to the front of the inside line. In this game, the double file restart has lapped cars on the inside and lead lap cars on the outside.
Yep! Old NASCAR rules apply with single file restarts.
The double-file restarts are only for lapped cars to start double file next to the lead lap cars. Real NASCAR didn't have the current style double file restarts back in 2003.
There's a Raleigh Figure 8 track that runs like what you'd expect a Figure 8 to run (also by experience with my local asphalt track doing F8s). You can get it on RollingThunderGaming
2:30 I can tell you first hand the kinda time commitment it takes to make that many schemes since I make some pretty massive carsets all by myself. In June of 2022 I released a carset with 380 total cars in it. I began work on that carset in March of 2021. Granted for this Next Gen carset there were likely multiple painters working on it, but it still is quite a massive undertaking. It's very fun, but exhausting at times.

None the less the fact that this game was made in 2003 there was some MASSIVE adjustments to be made to make that possible and a HUGE team of supporters, molders, players, and workers
9:54 the easiest option would be to have the pit lane be parallel to the start-finish straight similar to how road courses work. Maybe have the start-finish straight be the lower of the two.

Love having this track on my fictional league. During qualifying I always aim for that pit wall and most times you get stuck on the wall
When I was editing around the track ini file and changed it to where if you weight shift on accident you can go flying. I hit the pit road barrier then get newmand by someone
I think I found the name of the track, it is similar to eight-bowl but with the difference that here the cars DO crash. The name is "Mission DemoDerby", with a little searching you will find it :)
Your welcome broski. You've just scratched the surface too. I've been non-stop playing nr2003 since we have no other good game the past year and I still haven't made a dent in what can be done. Wait till you get into adjusting car ratings, track adjustments and ai settings and race lines, etc. I love watching a race then tinkering with the same track files so I can get the ai to race exactly the same way.

Also, you'll keep momentum up more if you use a wheel & pedals instead of an amateur controller. The game was built to be used with a wheel & pedals.
destruction arena is one of the better one for AI but it’s more like this with a crashing crossover than a half mile crossover

The track he doing is called 8 Bowl superspeedway---Its funny to Shove the AI Cars either up Pit Road Or into the Butt end Of the Pit Lane for a Horrific Crash...lmfao
Side note, the "double file restart" option isnt like the modern restart, its the old school one where lap down cars have the inside line, this was what they did to give them a chance before the lucky dog rule came around

Idk if it was the mod I used to run back in the day but they have pretty cool mechanical damage. I know I would lose a gear so I would have to shift from 2 to 4 since I lost 3rd gear and had power steering issues ect. Always loved that about this game

The pack just slowly breaks up, usually 4-5 car race at the end dependent on race length

As exciting as a figure 8 race would be in the cup series, I don't think it's a possibility. Nascar would never allow it. But I think the primary reason would be driver safety.
There's a chance we can get it, only if the 8 has a bridge overlap the below front straight

Hey man, Idk if you knw about the modded physics? I haven't been around the community for a good few years now, but last time I was, I was using NRE's Cup and Xfinity and Truck physics, along with the editor's SLM physics.
Who thinks this guy should play sonic frontiers? To at least try something out of his racing comfort zone

Have ur wheel plugged in before u boot up the game, it changes calibration everytime u do it
Usually if u do it right u have a arrow at rhe bottom of callibraton
@JackhammerJT I'll definitely give that a try. The wheel usually is plugged in before booting the game, but I've probably already played another game beforehand using the wheel. I'll try unplugging it and plugging it back in again before booting nr2003. Thanks for the advice

I think stenhouse got the lucky dog and was passing the field to get back on the lead lap. Couldn’t quite make it so he just got as far up the pack as he could before the restart. Cool that they have that much realism!! Saw cars doing that the whole race at the 2022 coke 600 and southern 500.
Lucky dog didn't exist in 2003 when this game came out. He was jumping to the front of the inside line because in the era of single-file restarts the inside line was lapped cars and the outside was lead lap cars
