thank you so much for coming to our great state and seeing many of the sites. there are quite a few more but that'll have to be for another trip. I could follow you around wherever you went because I have been to all of these places! Born and raised here 66 years ago
Can't express how much our family are enjoying your trip through Iowa. Those windswept landscapes and pacific skies are breath taking and what an amazing amount of history! We spent some time last night googling the Grotto. We feel slightly guilty, sitting cosily, thousands of miles away in a country that enjoys a far more temperate climate - my goodness it looks pretty cold - but beautiful none the less. Many Thanks for allowing us to experience this road trip.
The Wakita house was an actual house in Wakita that was demolished after filming. The house in Iowa was the they were at at the conclusion of the movie.
Enjoyed seeing the Twister house and seeing where the beginning of the end for the Barrow gang was. The Zombie food looked good. Enjoying the road trip.
One of my favorite natural disasters movie, "Twister". Bill Paxton was great as he is always in that film.or any film- for that matter that he's acted in..,I really miss him..RIP Bill Paxton!! Helen Hunt the actress in Twister..not so much. Love Bonnie and Clyde stories! Thanks for bringing them to us on your travels Jordan!🤩
Your the best of the best !!! Lol, Just watched Twister for at least the 10th time, One those movies like Jaws ,Shawshank Redemption while you're channel surfing you just gotta stop and watch it 🤣, Good Movie. Looking forward to see where you go next 😀 😊, SAFE TRAVELS AND GOD SPEED 🙏 ❤️
I never fail to learn something new from your videos :) I’m glad you went to the East Village spot, it’s the original. #zombiebrideshakeftw Des Moines hosts a Zombie Walk fundraiser that’s really fun, hopefully they’re able to have it this year. You should also check out the historic Jordan House sometime ;) the owner was a conductor for the Underground Railroad. Lots of amazing history. Safe travels!
The Twister house was so cool!! I didn't realize it was by itself really. The movie made it seem like there was all kinds of stuff all around it so to see it in real time was awesome. Great vlog man some really cool stuff I didn't know about Iowa!
I made a follow up in Oklahoma because I thought the same thing and then realized that a lot of what we saw takes place in wakita and that they used a few random houses outside of there for the movie in different scenes. when I arrived at this house I was surprised it had no neighbors also
@@DazewithJordantheLion wish I had known you were in Oklahoma ! I am from Enid just south of Wakita. But now live in Stillwater. Home of Oklahoma State University. I would have come to meet you and shown you around. Anytime you are back let us know. A friend of my husbands lives near Wakita at Jet. At one time he had “Dorothy”. I have photos of her somewhere. Like many items in movies, there may have been many “Dorothy’s” made.
@@DazewithJordantheLion the cast and crew stayed at a hotel in Ponca City on the Marland Estate. Where the Marland Mansion is. It’s a park owned by the city now. The hotel is now gone. EW Marland started Conoco Oil. Lost it all. It is quite an interesting scandalous story. You should check it out. The mansion is a museum now. Is said to be haunted by his wife Lydie . We lived in the Gatehouse there for 6 weeks just after the movie was made while our home was being built in 1997. Very interesting place. My first husband died. But he worked for ConocoPhillips then. They did us a favor by renting the Gatehouse to us. Check out the EW Marland story and him marrying Lydie.
It really is incredible how many places they have filmed for the movie Twister. There is a lot here in Oklahoma. Much of it is movie magic. Like the drive in movie theater for instance. I haven't been to any locations in Iowa so this was cool to see.
@@DazewithJordantheLion I'll see you there. Just so you know there is a Johhny Bench Museum in Binger, Oklahoma. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday but just in case you stick around. It's about an hour and 10 minutes west of Oklahoma City. I know you're a Reds fan so I thought I would mention that.
If you are still in the area I could show you where there are more filming sights In iowa. Like twister hill or the bridge where they stopped after putting the tops on the sensors.
There are a few neat sites in my home city regarding Grant wood there is his studio where he painted and his grave and also brucemore mansion. Be cool to meet you!
i wonder if “Bridges of madison county was done on. location in iowa , i loved the Twister house tho. i watched that movie a ridiculous amount of times same with madison county.
You're right the movie twister is a pretty good movie in the still play it quite a bit on TV 1 of my favorite movies from back then at that time I hope you are doing well and staying safe on your travels I hope Gia is seeing safe too I hope the rest of your family is staying safe to in the middle of what's going on with this virus mess I've been a big fan of yours for years like I said I hope you are staying safe and healthy and well and everybody else Keep doing what you do for your channel I know a lot of people appreciate it counting me steeve well
Not sure if you know, but the Dorothy machine is real and it is on display at University of Oklahoma's Weather Center in Norman, OK, next to the Flying Cow Grill. This is where the real storm chasers hang. They also have a display that, when activated, shows how a tornado forms and gathers strength.
Awesome man! A lot of these locations are on my bucket list. I love all the Bonnie and Clyde locations. There's also a bunch of the Twister filming locations in Kansas. Great vid!
I Loved your vlog but that house in Iowa is the one left standing at the end of the movie not the one where they all go to visit aunt meg. Aunt Megs house in Wakita was torn down after the film CREW destroyed it for the F5 looks to hit Wakita Head on sequence. I think the scene with the jumper tornado was filmed near there too
My grandfather was fishing in a little creek in East Texas when Bonnie & Clyde came up to talk to him. He said Clyde asked him how the fishing was. They talked fishing a bit and my grandfather even gave them worms. My grandfather said Bonnie & Clyde were very nice and even likable.
been a good while since I've seen the movie, need to look for it and watch it again. the house looks nice. I enjoyed the drive, all the snow buuurrrrr . oh goodness the meal looks delicious . alright drive safe and take care and Jah to , looking forward for next time !!!
WOW very interesting video. Didn't know the Twister house was located here. I too love that movie. Thanks Jordon for taking us along with you on this adventure
I have really enjoyed your trip through Iowa. There is so much to do here. You have done such a great job of showing the world Iowa. Thank you so much Jordan. You too Jaha. Hope you experienced the "Iowa nice". Please come back to visit anytime. Tulip Time in Pella is something to experience. I was blown away the first time I saw a night parade. It's amazing. Thank you again.
Iowa nice? I didn't experience that. I didn't have the right ID and was not allowed to board a plane. So going to a funeral, I had to jump in my pickup and make the 2000 mile drive right away. After passing thru western states (speed limit 80) I crossed into Iowa. Speed limit drops to ... 65! That feels slow after driving 80 mph for 1500 miles. I guess I was doing 70 mph, 5 over and received a nice welcome to Iowa from an Iowa state trooper. A $200 ticket. 5 mph is ridiculous, Nevada would never write a 5 mph ticket, and $200 is very expensive for 5 mph. Iowa was also nice enough to contact my insurance co to make sure they knew I had a speeding ticket. It turns out Iowa is famous for ticketing out of state drivers knowing they won't travel a thousand miles to contest a ticket. I avoid Iowa now.
Cool! I’m going to share this one with my mom. She LOVES Twister haha. For her it’s one of those movies that, anytime it comes on tv, she HAS to stop and watch.
Just a awesome video Jordan you are so hilarious and funny it was good to see sleeping Jah. I love this video it was great and the food looked good. thanks for everything you Jordan and see you in the next video.
Oh man, I'd have to eat at Zombie Burger everyday to try one of everything. That Elvis Burger sounded really good. I love all these crazy, interesting places that you find!
It shows that you put a lot into research to find these really cool places.I love Twister. I thought that the Twister house was in Wakita in a neighborhood of homes. I was surprised. Enjoyed seeing the place that Bonnie & Clyde hid out. A really fun vlog!
I really love your vlogs, I have got my son to watch with me, and I have to say you do inspire some wonderful road trips in the future, thank you for the gift of sharing,God bless you ☮️
This was great. Glad that you are looking so happy and Jah is picture perfect. A great team. Really liked the movie Twister. Loved learning more about the story of Bonnie and Clyde. Glad that the State honors their history. So thanks for sharing this.
Thank You for all your travels. Very interesting and educational.
Twister is one of my top two movies. I love when cable puts it on almost daily for months. I can always watch that movie.

Galena, Illinois has a lot to see. Grant's home for one. Very cool town east of Dubuque, Iowa.
I so want to go to that Zombie Burger!
The walking ched is a solid burger. I swear by this place. My favorite place to eat in Des Moines.

Helen and Bill knocked that film out of the park. I watched that film so many times. The house looks phenomenal.
A true classic film!! All star cast!
My favorite two Characters from that movie was Bill Paxton and Philip Seymour Hoffman. 😎
You can't beat the twister house and Bonnie and Clyde
Cool hat
😆 I just commented that you should try Zombie Burger and about the shootout. Too funny
This is exciting!
The final shootout happened in louisiana
Damn I want to go to Zombie Burger 🍔

Yaaay! Missourian here! I’m sure whatever you do here, I’ll be soon to follow to check it out! Can’t wait Jordan!

Was that a pair of concrete legs sticking out of the ground next to the no trespassing sign?
Yes indeed! A former trespasser

There are 4 Dorothy machines. I've seen 2 of the 4
The twister house looked astounding!!👍
wasn't Jamie Gurtz in twister as well?
Yep
Awesome man! A lot of these locations are on my bucket list. I love all the Bonnie and Clyde locations. There's also a bunch of the Twister filming locations in Kansas. Great vid!

WOW very interesting video. Didn't know the Twister house was located here. I too love that movie. Thanks Jordon for taking us along with you on this adventure
That scene at the house is epic, where they go to the Barn, strap in well, are in the eye of the tornado. Who's John?
I live a little less than 1 hour from Eldora and never knew that the Twister house was there
What's weird is this house is at the end of the movie for a short time, but they used it the most for promotions..

I always wanted the sculptures her Aunt made that were outside of the house.
Went to see he twister exhibit at universal studios. It was cool!
