We moved to Boston from New Orleans back in the summer of 2001 and moved back here in 2021, mostly to take care of my in-laws and partly because of the pandemic destroying our work lives. I really miss being in the city, believe me, but watching this video brings tears to my eyes when I think about dear friends that I cannot see every day. The weather down here is better, as I write this I’m in shorts and it’s January, but I would give anything to be back. You’ve no idea what it’s like to be in one of the great cities of the world, and I wish I were writing this message from our old house on the North Shore.
The reason why I started to film the city during my walks was because I knew how much I would miss Boston once I return home. I am touched that my video was able to help you think of your time in this beautiful city. Your comment has given me the motivation to make more such videos of Boston. @@travelmemoir Thank you very much indeed for your kind words; I first discovered the city in the late '80s, when I was stationed there as a 20 year-old and knew nothing of the world outside of my very small town in Georgia. That experience caused me to spend more than half my life as a Bostonian and lover of all things New England. I'd give up my January shorts for four seasons again!

March,, I don't know about that month.. In between Winter and Spring. Always reminded me of puberty. Didn't know what it wanted to be.. Snowy, rainy, sunny, muddy,,other than that, growing up there I'd say the best months are during Spring and Fall.. Unbeatable May and June weather, humidity still on the light side, and that crisp Fall weather and Fall Foliage..Oh my, oh my

Was in Boston as a tourist quite recently, a beautiful city it is and a walk thru history incredible , I’d like one day to return , the people are kind and friendly love this video very calming , I’ve watched several times , beautiful video ❤ well done 👍
Why do we always want what we don't have? ☹️😁 I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I fell in love with the entire history of Boston and Cape Cod since it has similarities with my city regarding immigration and European architecture. I would love to see all those areas of Massachusetts. Thanks for the video. It's a beautiful city, there are many lucky people to be able to walk there.

definitely do it, boston is wonderful, but just know that the areas in this video are basically the most expensive areas to live in boston. most homes in beacon hill sell for between 2-12 million. if youre just graduating and making below 80k, you're likely going to live in a surrounding neighborhood like malden/medford/cambridge/somerville/allston, etc, which are also wonderful and have a great vibe, though certain parts of those neighborhoods are known to have a little violence and gang activity. if you're looking to save some money and commute into the city (about 45 mins) while still getting a somewhat similar experience, i'd recommend salem! I live there now for about $700 per month, though some apartments can get pretty expensive here too. the entire month of october in salem is practically a giant party where the streets get shut down at night and tons of events happen, and all i would do is walk 15 minutes from my house to downtown and have a blast. plus, salem has plenty of beautiful streets and old architecture, not to mention the walkability and accessibility to fun and practical things. good luck, hope things go well for you as you consider moving here!

The most prominent source of noise throughout the whole video: cars. Demonstrating once again that "cities" are not loud---cars are loud. I look forward to the day Boston becomes a bicycling city like the Dutch.
It will most certainly be very peaceful if boston became a bicycling city, admittedly I have lived the majority of my life in India so boston is very very quiet by my standards ha-ha.
