Which one is better? Depends on what you want The Hyundai is an SAV and not a truck. The Mav is a small truck, not an SAV. The Santa costs $2k to $4k more per trim level, has a smaller bed, and gets lower mpg than the Mav. The Santa can tow a bit more (5k vs 4klbs) but payload is less (1420 vs 1500lbs) and the "bed" can only carry 660lbs of those 1420lbs. The Mav's bed can hold the entire 1500lbs. Do you want a small truck or an SUV that has a "truck bed" looking rear end? The Santa does have a cool looking plastic grille up front.

The verdict is in. North Americans cast their vote and put their money on it with Ford selling more than 3 to one. I think that speaks volumes which has won in comparison. I think the Ford Maverick offers more to a wider group or demagraphic's. Also having more dealers to provide service and ease of purchase helps as well. IMO the Ford Maverick allows many to save money not only when buying or purchasing it but saving at the gas pumps as well, those are also contributing factors.

Neither: they'll both fall apart, probably before the warranty expires(don't see "Made in Japan" on either of them)....and you paid how much?!

The Maverick is made in Mexico and the Santa Cruz is made in the US in Georgia. I chose the Santa Cruz with its excellant warrenty and have been watching the Maverick with all of its recalls. Traded my wifes Santa Fe Sport for the Santa Cruz and she loves it and I like it myself. Drives and handles nice, smooth ride, plenty of power from the non turboed 2.5 four engine.
