Totally agree to Tobias when he said that he always try to reach out everyone in a big crowd. I had no ideia who they were in 2013 when they played at rock in rio. But the amazing show the band presented that day has made me leave the festival as one more fan. Ghost is actually my favorite band since then!
You gotta love the way these guys take their fans and art so seriously and are so driven as performers. The spirit of Lemmy and Bowie is alive in these guys.
I can't imagine someone leaving a Ghost performance and not leaving as a fan! That doesn't even seem fathomable in my mind! I felt like they reached out to me on a whole other level when I saw them live. I had seen performances online prior to seeing them live, but being there is a whole other thing. There is so much energy in the room. It IS a spectacle like no other! I can't imagine another rock band coming close to putting on a show nearly as visually stimulating as Ghost. It was like nothing else. It's fantastic! My only regret is not having a floor ticket! Next time I will know better!
I'm weeping for Tobias right now. Kirk fucking Hammett just described the process that Ghost goes through before going to stage as an "event". And the fact that he GENUINELY seemed humbled and awed by that process...I can't even imagine the brain tingles he is getting by having one of his idols recognizing him in such a way. You guys...I am SERIOUSLY crying! Sebastian, I genuinely hope you can see this. He's made it. He's done the things you've inspired him to do. If there is an afterlife, PLEASE let him know that you can see what he's done. Not just for Tobias, but for all of us that question the great beyond. 🖤
I have to say I kinda know what Tobias is talking about. Saw Ghost for the first time at the Graspop Festival in 2018, arrived a hungover cranky bastard, left absolutely blown away with how much I enjoyed the show. Last month with Metallica at Slane Castle I was nearly looking forward to seeing Ghost again as much as I was for Metallica.
Tobias was spot on about making a fan of an "on-the-fence" person at a live show. This was my experience with Iron Maiden. I'd heard plenty of their songs before and respected the talent but they weren't in my top 10 bands. Then I saw them live at an Ozzfest show and it made my ears, brain, and balls explode, and every subsequent listen to one of their songs has (still to this day) taken me back to that amazing live energy and I can't for the life of me remember why it was that the music alone hadn't had that kind of impact on me. Now if they'd phoned in their performance and half-assed it I would have never been taken to that next level of love and respect for their work. When I saw Ghost live (Prequelle tour) I was still in my infancy on taking in their catalog at that point but the mystique of the stage show and Tobias' charisma left little room for me to not love what I was seeing and hearing. Ghost is still by far my favorite modern era band- not one of but THE favorite. Sorry, Metallica, your live show didn't win me over- it didn't have to. I was already heavily invested in your evil devil music at that point. I can't even pick up a guitar without at least riffing something from a Metallica track- they were literally a part of my musical education (by choice) and a massive influence during my teen years. Getting to see them live was just icing on the cake. They were such a big part of my life it was almost like seeing your buddy's band playing and taking pride in how bad ass their show was.
Been a Metallica fan all my life, I remember seeing Ghost in 2013 when they were just becoming somewhat popular in the US. It's surreal seeing the two together.
Metallica and Ghost are two of my favourite bands, I’ve seen both bands several times. That gig in the Manchester Etihad was my dads first time hearing ghost , he’d never heard or seen them and he’s a complete convert now, loves them! And of course loves Metallica! Fantastic gig
Considering that Ghost is a huge fan of Metallica, i love how Metallica was willing to bring them under their wing. For a band that has only been at it for about 10 years, other bands would die for this kind of recognition from Metallica that’s been around for 30-40 yrs maybe. And the relationship between both groups is something music lovers should appreciate. Especially in the hard rock and metal industry. That being said, both bands should cover each others’s songs. (I know there was one for Enter Sandman with Candlemaas)

Funny thing, I totally connect what Tobias is saying. The first time I saw Ghost, was at a Iron Maiden show they where opening for them and I wasn't much into Ghost I only like one song and didn't even knew who played it, any way after leaving that show I fell in love with te band you could almost feel he stare at you and kind of make you sing or move you know it was a little intimidating but awesome!. Second time I went to see them I brought my fiancé with me and she absolutely loves ghost now and she don't even like rock music, so any way this is the power of our music, it connects people, welcomes every kind of people and makes you feel part of something greater than you. And of course Metallica is my absolute favorite band you can also connect alot with them, James, Kirk and Cliff are my role modes in terms of attitude style and musical taste, even though I don't know them personally I've alway felt that they are a type of family to me and always will be in my heart... thank you very much for all this beautiful music and experiences you have given me!
Low Bow I was always wondering what was up with that. Because I noticed at first when he was talking, it sounded like it does on the record: barely an accent, and sounds really good. I always wondering if he forced it live, and I don’t hate it, but I prefer the record. I wonder why he forces that accent, his natural voice is so good
I hear little flashes of Copia and Papa III in his speech patterns all the time, and it’s so weird to see it coming out of his face. Like, I know Cardinal Copia is a mask this guy wears, and so were each of the Papas, but he does such an incredible job altering the mannerisms, posture, accent, things he talks about onstage, that hearing flashes of both of those personas come out of one guy’s face is so strange. Heck, it was even weird when Copia told us all to go home and masturbate after the show when I caught them during Rats on the Road, because it seemed like a super Papa III thing to say when Copia is more of a weird goofball mixed with a throwback Fosse sex fairy.
I heard ghost for the first time in Copenhagen yesterday and im addicted. The ironically distance between their sound and lyrics is so good and i love it.
Tobias is right. I saw him perform not too long ago in Minneapolis. He really was into getting not just the fans...but the ENTIRE crowd into it. It is now one of my favorite concerts in my near 4 decades of existence. He is a definite rarity as a performer. The fans gathered thought I was at the wrong venue, since I was dressed like a bloody viking. Nope... I was there to witness the phenom that is Tobias Forge and his masterpiece: Ghost.

Been a huge fan of Ghost for a couple years now. Finally got to see them live for the first time last night in Worcester, MA. (Spectacular show! The best show I've been ever been to!) My lovely boyfriend bought the tickets as one of my birthday gifts. He wasn't like a die hard fan or anything like me. But certainly would hear me play them, and enjoyed hearing it, but probably didn't listen to them outside of me playing them. He bought their merch after the show last night :) I think their presence live is amazing and truly entertaining. The show felt so magical yanno? I think he felt it too and is a much bigger fan now because of the theatrical, whimsical, fun performance they put on. If someone leaves a Ghost show not a huge fan... They just have bad taste.

I remember the drama when he fired all the original members and left them with nothing. I don't know the full story behind it but it seemed like he screwed his old friends over to get full control of the band.
@@haraldsletterodsome of the band members sued Tobias (they lost) because they thought they weren’t getting enough money. it doesn’t make sense at all because the band members didn’t do nearly as much as Tobias did.
@@sam_giro5293 yes, also they’re all just hired to play on stage for the tours and don’t actually belong to the one man band that Tobias created.
Not really forever because it wont be ghost anymore without tobias. But yes he can change any members at any time without telling anyone
Metallica and Ghost! Unstoppable duo!!
Seems weird to see Tobias sitting and talking so freely without any Ghost makeup mask, but I am glad to see it. Kirk is such a down to earth guy as well.
Totally agree to Tobias when he said that he always try to reach out everyone in a big crowd. I had no ideia who they were in 2013 when they played at rock in rio. But the amazing show the band presented that day has made me leave the festival as one more fan. Ghost is actually my favorite band since then!
It's so cool seeing Tobias finally revealing and interacting as himself publicly-- and telling his story.
You gotta love the way these guys take their fans and art so seriously and are so driven as performers. The spirit of Lemmy and Bowie is alive in these guys.
We need a full US tour with these two bands. Ghost and Metallica. My life will be complete.
Love Tobias he is such a good dude always humble super bad ass dude love him
Did you feel the same way when he was fucking his former bandmates over?
What a great, GREAT interview! Love Tobias and LOVE Kirk Hammett. Both are such nice humble guys!
This is one of my favorite videos on the internet. My favorite singer and my favorite guitarist chill together...Legends 🤘🔥
Kirk... your riffs are what pulled me to the metal side with the black album. You're my favorite guitarist!
I'm super fan of Kirk! The best ever. Come on to Brazil, Kirk. ❤❤❤
Wonderful conversation between two very interesting guys. Talented and fun. I could listen to them talk all day about music and experiences.
Loved both bands at the Etihad stadium. When it rains it pours!
Stopped everything to watch this So fucking cool 2 badass guys🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
This is pretty nice. More of this.
Love Kirk Hammett with ALL my heart 😍😍😍😍😍
LOVE Kirk hammet! Wouldn't have ever touched a guitar without him
I have to say I kinda know what Tobias is talking about.
Both amazing bands to see live
Tobias is so delicately pale. A true Scandinavian 🤘🏼
Dude looks like if the slightest glimpse of sunlight hits him, he'll immediately develop a level 10 sunburn. No shade, but damn.
or at least....what scandinavia was..............
Pale as a ghost
Kirk is a half Filippino
@@lolallday08 he also wears a mask onstage
And the fact that they are being "interviewed" in front of the backstage equipment boxes speaks to my soul as the daughter of a sound engineer.
Metallica and Ghost are two of my favourite bands, I’ve seen both bands several times. That gig in the Manchester Etihad was my dads first time hearing ghost , he’d never heard or seen them and he’s a complete convert now, loves them! And of course loves Metallica! Fantastic gig
you sounds like a poser wannabe rockstar
no.safe.place and you sound like a dick but there we go 😂👍🏻
Awesome interview, love Tobias and Kirk!
I went to see the performances at Etihad stadium and by god were Ghost, Metallica and Bokassa a real treat. Truly breathtaking.
I saw Ghost for the first time when they supported Metallica at the Etihad. Tobias succeeded. I was blown away. I left as a fan.
Kirk's guitar are amazing! Thank's for all
0:07 "Oh my Satan, Kirk touched me"
I would've had a frickin heart attack if Kirk touched me, lol.
Kirk and Tobias both come off as really nice guys.
Ghost, King Diamond & Metallica Tour 2020...make it happen boys!!!
Ghost slipknot and mudvayne. Make it happen
@@Illumirage Ghost, Slipknot, King Diamond and Metallica rather :)
@@themadgamer4571 never really got into king diamond, but he's not bad.
The theme I was going for was all good bands w/ masks. hence why I left out Gwar or Mushroomhead

@@heatherbradley5930 ive seen ghost. Still haven't Seen slipknot. Theyre boycotting my city it seems...
Not even a small city but they never come here....
I could watch this for hours! Metallica and Ghost are my two favourite bands on this planet and both Tobias and Kirk are so down to earth. Love that combo!
THIS INTERVIEW IS SO LEGENDARY TO ME!!!! OH MY GOD!
I traveled all the way from the states to Ireland to see them together!!! 😍 Most amazing concert of my life 💯
Funny thing, I totally connect what Tobias is saying.
Happy birthday Kirk Hammett 🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Papa released at 5:13
OMG yes! I hear it! So weird!
Low Bow I was always wondering what was up with that. Because I noticed at first when he was talking, it sounded like it does on the record: barely an accent, and sounds really good. I always wondering if he forced it live, and I don’t hate it, but I prefer the record. I wonder why he forces that accent, his natural voice is so good
@@jacee8094 mainly because he's playing a character when on stage
Thank you for time stampping this hilarity.
Im a simple man, i saw Kirk hammet and Tobias forge in a youtube video so i pressed the «like» button instantly
and then what ? applause for you or greetings?
You are simple because you regurgitate old comments and act as if they are new or you created them.
@@Bogeyman19DidNotScareMyAss who ?
I too pressed the like button instantley
Who? Kiss singer Paul "instantley" ?
Tobias is right. I saw him perform not too long ago in Minneapolis. He really was into getting not just the fans...but the ENTIRE crowd into it. It is now one of my favorite concerts in my near 4 decades of existence. He is a definite rarity as a performer.
The fans gathered thought I was at the wrong venue, since I was dressed like a bloody viking. Nope... I was there to witness the phenom that is Tobias Forge and his masterpiece: Ghost.
Love these guys. Going to see Ghost in October. HEY METALLICA, come back to Ottawa! It's been 10 years! You were there 5 years prior for St. Anger. Overdue fellas! (BTW, Montreal 2017 was amazing).
Seeing Metallica and Ghost at the same time would be a dream. Favorite band and new favorite band at the same time. Can’t beat that
All I can do is stare at the King Diamond pin on Tobias jacket 🤘
He's got a Mercyful Fate "Melissa" pin too. Also Venom, Misfits, Samhain, Motorhead, Twisted Sister, and an Anti-Donald Trump pin lol
@@Gregbaltzer Wow, good 'eye' on the Melissa pin 👌
@@Gregbaltzer Pretty sure one's a Sisters Of Mercy one as well. Funny the things that catch our eyes!

it would be cool to see some rare or "band historical" guitars out of james and kirk's collection.
Kirk is my all-time favorite guitarist, I’m not saying I think he’s the greatest guitar player out there, I’ve always lived his playing and he seems like a really good person as well, I’m very drawn to “good people” don’t get me wrong he is one of my guitar heroes without question. Kirk carries himself with pride and humility. I’m a fan for life. Favorite solo is the Master of Puppets solo. He’s amazing at rhythm very underrated in my humble opinion.
Tobias was born in a guitar shop! That's pretty badass.
Saw Metallica in slane in June and ghosts performance stopped me in my tracks especially when they played miasma - I was hooked and left the concert as a ghost fan! Amazing band live and I didn’t know their songs. I hope Ghost come back to Ireland soon!!
They are playing in Ireland- announced today 🥳 thanks lads 🤘
Kirk's speaking voice sounds like Tobias' singing voice.
Minus the accent lol
I've seen both of you twice and can't wait for the next show! 🖤
Saw Ghost on their tour this past November. Epic show. Ready to see them again. Can’t wait to see Metallica a fifth time.
never knew how much i needed to see this
[A message from the clergy] 🤘🏼🎸
Holy shit... two of my inspirations sitting in the same room and having a conversation. This is fucking amazing.
I didn't liked ghost before i saw them live in Gothenburg, but now seeing them live and entertaining me i cannot get those guys out of my mind!
My wife and I went to the Metallica show in Prague on that tour purely to see Ghost. Metallica was the cherry on top.
LOVE the King Diamond pin he`s wearing.
He's wearing a Mercyful Fate "Mellissa" pin too.
@@Gregbaltzer Oh shit, didn`t see that. Cool. I spoke with some of the band members 5 years ago (before they were swapped out). They all were big King D fans, and it shows in many ways.
