The show starts off saying susan was studying Chinese in America for 5 years. She must be a savant. I've been studying it for over 10 years and I'm just starting to be able to form simple phrases. I understand about 2% of conversations at less than normal speed. I thought learning a language would grow exponentially but it doesn't. learning more now is just as hard as it was the first year. I think it will get only harder when I finish all the common phrases and run out of sources for less common subjects.
You must be doing something really wrong if after more than 10 years you can only get 2% of what they say in a conversation. You can get more just by watching their bodies without any knowledge of any given langauge.
wow, it's a fascinating channle, these sentences are veeery common in chnese daily talk, and the speed is little lower than normal,which is better to help your listening exercise. to be frankly, I know the feeling that you feel, lol, cuz I have been struggling to studying english, so I feel english is much complicated, too many vocabularies, grammar and the sentence pronunciation. but I am desperate to improve my english, may I ask is there anybody'd like to study with me? please kindly DM me, I could help you with your chinese, and I'd like to consult some quetsions to you when you are free, I definitely won't distubing you too much, I am stuying by myself most of time, but I am worry about my pronunciation.

I’m only educated in opera as part of the Western Art Music tradition, so I don’t really know what is and isn’t stylistic for Peking Opera. Is the joke that either Susan or the father are poor singers?
The father's told all his family to support Suzan in her practice. So, everybody applauds immediately each time she sings without even listening to how she sings. Eventually, she sings pretty well, at least when she's drunk !
Their acting is so great, and fun!
