I generally hate gigantic wordy tombs but ptolus is easily the best setting supplement I've ever come across. What really sticks out to me is how easy it is to reference and use in prep and at the table and that's crazy considering the amount of content it has.
Thanks once again for working on Ptolus. It's Tal'Dorei Reborn (but it has all the details included), it's Eberron and/or Ravnica (but more Adventures because that didn't really have any adventures in it), it's Perr Bastet AND Zobek with more action and content. It's everything and MORE - More Factions, More NPC detail adventures. The Idea that this is Too Much to possibly use - yeah, that's real. I can't use it all. It's hard to drop hints to everything you possibly can - I had a player taking notes and was like... What DO WE DO--- to many things to follow up on after third session. This books is worth 4-5 books. The art could have been better but no- that would just make it be more pages.
I've been reading this a lot lately, I don't think I'm necessarily going to run a campaign in it because I don't have players with enough available time to really get the most out of it. Instead I'm using it for inspiration to homebrew my own city setting in a whole different system, and it's perfect for that, giving so much detail and so many interesting ideas, but it's also perfectly laid out!
Haha, thing is, the way I have thing set up right now with MCG (Affiliate marketing and some support left and right) gives me the chance to talk about whatever I want, when I want, and how I want.
My copy is d20 first edition signed and numbered 639/1000. It is an absolute banger! The massive vinyl map takes up a lot of wall space. There is no way to convey how good the setting is.
I backed the Kickstarter back then - unfortunately only for the PDFs. I finally ordered it because of your videos and I'm really excited! BUT: MC has competition from Gooey Cube's Darkenhaven box, which only describes half of a city. The second half can then be found in the upcoming Gloomport. Together, these two boxes form an entire city 😅 Take a look - you might like one or the other.
Can we get a compare/contrast video on the weapon mastery systems recently added to many of the games (5.5e and ToV, and if you have it, Ryokos Guide to the Yokai Realms)? What effects for what weapons? Is the effect in replacement or in addition to standard damage?
I mean, yeah...I wanna get it... But its get that book... or get a second monitor, a new camera, and a new gaming HDD... Either way, I cant afford it yet...not with the exchange rate the way it is! ...also, I just got an Email saying my "Adventures in the Cypher System" shipment has shipped from the local distributor! YAY! XP & Foil Deck, Its Only Magic, and Cypher System Bestiary! YAY!

If you made some videos highlighting some non-spoiler locations, factions, etc. it would help some people sink their teeth into the setting.

Not only is it one of my favorite rpg books, but it sold me on the Cypher system

Thanks for the high praise! And I'm glad you're enjoying The Runeblood Blessing, too. :)
Monte should be paying for this kind of review. Great video as always .
@@MrTarrasque I meant they should pay you I wasn’t implying

So chonky, but so good.
This book just looks fantastic, and all the high praise just makes this more enticing. It's pricey but I think I should pick up a physical version.
The book was first published 15 years ago, so of course spelling and things have been corrected
Yeps, making it a masterpiece

There's even a d20/3rd Edition version of this book. Three systems? Madness I say!
Dang man. That's some high praise.
You convinced me. It is now on my wish list.
Awesome! Just so you know, the link below the video is an affiliate link, if you grab it there I get a bit of cash.
I bought a copy thanks to you. It is a very awesome book, and I hope to get to use it soon. Thanks, bud.
Cool! Let me know how it went
There are not enough people that show this book or run games there. It is a shame
Yessss! More MCG content. ❤🎉
read it cover to cover quite a while ago ... and i had a blast. even though i have to admit that it was almost hard work.

totally unrelated but did tales of the valiant fix the martial/caster divide better than the 5e revision?
Ptolus is great!!!!
BEST EVAAAR!!!
There are a lot more books that support Ptolus. Do your homework 🤨🤔😕🙄🙄
I am aware more books exist for Ptolus, that’s not the point of the video
