As a relatively new plant mom 🪴 I can confirm that I just get stupid and giddy everyday when I look at them, and the feeling of needing more only grows along with them 🌱 And this was a lovely vlog, it’s always good to hear from you 💛
Oh! And P.S. most houseplants are toxic to cats, so always google each plant before buying 🥲 I know 💔

Easiest plants from a crazed plant mom: zz plant, snake plant, regular heart leaf philodendron, neon pothos, string of bananas, hoya crimson queen 😊 hope this helps!
Plants to avoid as the first's I'd say are ficus(high light), calathea family(high humidity), and succulents (cause I hate them/high light😂)
my biggest thing is making sure that the majority of plants I get are cat-safe!! Do you know which of these are pet safe :0
Unfortunately the hoya is the only one of these that’s cat friendly. I’d recommend a spider plant though, they’re super easy to care for and definitely safe (my cat ate mine. like the whole thing😂)
@@cheyennebarton spider plants, calatheas, prayer plant, chinese money plant, and most ferns are harmless!! i would say that all of them (except maybe the fern? but that's debatable haha) are pretty easy to care for :)

If I remember from a previous vlog, you live in the Greater Seattle area. If you ever need to get rid of any art supplies there is an Art Supply specific Thrift Store that is locally owned. They are called Seattle Recreative and it's great if you dont want to throw away perfectly good art supplies that have been used.
My best advice for getting less overwhelmed when living in moving clutter, is getting items away from flat open surfaces :) so floor and table tops. After that then only tackle small sections, no konmari big pile fun, it becomes to much, to fast. :)
THE PLL VIDEO IN THE BACKGROUND WAS SO REAL i gave my life to that show in highschool it was actually crazy. the ending is the everloving worst. also WHAT are these morning pages everyones been talking about ?! It seems like its really helping people and I lowkey desperately need that rn lolol
so "morning pages" is specifically a journaling practice that (I believe) was coined by Julia Camera in The Artist's Way, BUT it's literally just stream-of-conscious writing for 3 pages every morning shortly after you wake up! I do it in a lil composition notebook. I've found it a great way to maintain a daily journaling practice!
also, hearing about the series finale for this show made me SO mad on the watchers' behalf, i can't imagine how y'all felt watching that unfold in real time
@@cheyennebarton I was so invested the show was part of my senior ap art project because I was so sad the show was ending and then when it did end I was SO disappointed 😩

I feel you on the tidying mess as I have been sorting out and packing my things for my upcoming move on Friday. I also had to sort out my late mum's things which was emotionally and physically draining as she had a lot of stuff. It's nice to know other people/artists also have a lot of stuff :D I have found during oraginising that boxes are my best friends, so I very much agree with you on that! 😊

Picked up a few things at the sale! Very excited, cat safe plant rec is the rattlesnake plant
we had a panic over the lack of certain ADHD meds, 2 people without meds can get interesting😝 thankfully the mental health team found an alternative, life is so much better on meds for ADHD😀get some cacti for plants, pretty hard to kill once they are established
Good luck with the pepperomia! They don’t like to be overwatered … I have 80+ plants but cannot keep them alive so don’t be disheartened if it isn’t successful! Try a type of philodendron for that spot if it doesn’t work out. I believe in you! You might have the knack for them 😊 the second plant you got may like more sun so if it’s on the decline try to give them more light especially when they’re so far from a window, also you and I both suffer from the stress of living in a messy environment, it affects me too so much but I just dont have the motivation to do what you do! Very inspiring from someone who crumbles at the stress of cleaning said disaster just by looking at it
I have a few house plants. I heard, and confirmed, the under watering is better than over watering. I have had a lot of luck with this.

i got a lot of ferns for my first plant purchases - they are all, if not most, safe for cats. but the problem is, because they are safe, my cat Haku ended up chewing most of them! rarrr. they were so pretty though.
also i just want to say how much i love the feels i get whenever you post a vloggo. i am so proud at the 'thank patrons' bit. i watch your vids with my sister (she is now a fan!) and she was like, "keep supporting our chey!" and i will. you are such a provider of sunshine -- even when you're keeping it real with your struggles. because that's how life is and we just have to keep going right? i said it before on your patreon -- you were my go-to after a terrible work day when i was pregnant. (i can't wait for my 'cog in the wheel' days to be over!)

hear me out... what if you used your bedroom as your office space, and move your bed into the "dining room" to kind of mAke a super large studio?
since my dining room area is basically the first thing people see when they walk into my apartment, that would basically remove all my privacy ;; my dining room does work as my studio space! just requires some careful planning haha
The reason you feel like everything in your house is such a mess is cuz all the shelves are open, nothing has a door, so every little thing you own is exposed. It is very overwelming
Exactly!! Even the cube shelves are open. I would personally cover them with a cloth and I know it's better to have open shelves to see what you have, but with all of the stuff she has, it's inevitable to not want to hide them.
yeah, watching this video actually stressed me out... even with all the cleaning, nothing changed imo lol
I like having my things on display. It can be pretty to see utilitarian things. And if she likes the style, then it’s ok 😊
As someone with adhd, closed shelving means I forget the things inside exist :') so I prefer open shelving too. Maybe Chey is the same.
