It was tough cutting the metal grille by hand. 🥲
I used Natura Onecoat for the finish, and it's great!
I'll definitely keep using it.
(but the smell of Rubio Monocoat is better. haha)
Anyway, thank you for watching my video.

I know at some point you're probably going to get a festool domino, but I'm glad that you still use your router and jigs to create them on your own. Instead of complaining about the cost of it, you figured out another way to make it happen. Your ingenuity is truly amazing. That's why I watch your videos multiple times, I learn something new each time. I'm always waiting for the next one. Thanks for the inspiration.
Yes the domino jig. Love this solution. Console looks incredible too well done. Love full travel of the sliding door.
Thank you for the comment! 😊
This lady appears comfortable with her mortise technique. She doesn’t need a Domino.
@@jennsmistake you seem to have a doweling jig but it is self centering one. There are great models like Dowelmax that can put dowels onto the board face and even 45 degree miters. That would be way faster than router domino and way cheaper than real domino. Just an idea.
As a self proclaimed male chauvinist (it was taught to me... trying to unlearn this behavior)... I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Keep changing minds and I wish we were neighbors... Id let you use my Domino.
Awesome job! Love that metal grill material.
Scott, I've watched your woodworking video a lot! Haha, thank you for watching my video.
beautiful piece. It's so nice to see how you made it.
I love the grille and the door openers.
Your designs and attention to detail are so inspiring! I love your videos, I learn something new every time.
Superb stylistic restraint shown here. Not what we've come to expect from the US, for sure!
Your videos have an Ishitani Furniture quality to them. Great video editing. Damn, walnut is such a beautiful wood to use on furniture. Great project.
It's finally nice to see some female woodworkers on this channel, that take woodworking to the next level. Beautiful work!!!
Wow! It's truly mesmerizing to witness the remarkable growth of your skillset by leaps and bounds. I've also observed your tools collection growing by leaps and bounds.
Can we do a shop tour next video?
Thanks! The shop is still a mess, but I'll do shop tour once it's cleaned up. haha
Vision, execution and presentation. All excellent!
Stunning console! Well done!❤❤
Thank you! 😊
This needs more views. Very nice work👌
Everything you make is beautiful
Thank you!
You're hands down my favorite woodworker on this site. Design and execution is so consistently on point! Beautiful work!
Wow, thank you! ☺️
Love watching your videos and seeing your work!
Thank you! ☺️
Simply beautiful, design and execution, and editing. Everything. Very very very well made.
Love the attention to detail! Inspiring work 🫰🏻
it's fun to see how the materials you use have increased in quality as you've gotten better.
inspirational as always. thanks.
exquisite design, execution and music.
It looks like you're using brass fasteners on the steel grille. One thing to consider is that direct contact between dissimilar metals can cause corrosion over time from galvanic action. You're probably fine here, but could use a nice looking steel screw, or maybe a button-head brass screw with a nylon washer. Just something to consider in the future, but otherwise no notes. Phenomenal work as always 🙌
Thank you for the comment! I will note that.✍️
Really like the look of that sliding door. Wasn’t sure about it first, but looks great
That’s beautiful! One day when I have space I’d love to learn to make furniture like that. 😊
Beautiful work Jenn, I really enjoyed the video. I would love to hear how you obtained your woodworking skills.
You are one of the inspirations for me shoot my own woodworking videos, really like you style of film making and music. Keep up the good work! Fighting!
Thank you!☺️

Thank you! 😊
Really beautiful piece. I love your router jigs- who says you need a Domino, right? The hardware you used on the sliding door grille is nice too, I've never used anything like that before. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! 😊
Bloody hell - that's GREAT work!!
why is your channel called JennsMistake? I can't see any!
Truly impressive.
Glad to see new video. This console is beautiful! Do you have the link to the hardware you used, especially the sliders?
Thanks! Here is the link for the slider. a.co/d/9sMCNxe

Beautiful
Do you use an oil & wax finish? Looks like a perfect on anything finish, looks fantastic.
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes, I use hard wax oil for the finish☺️
Crazy staff i love it 💔💔💔💔
Thanks! :)
Loved it! May I ask where you got the gear for the sliding doors and the metal handles for the regular doors? They are awesome
Thanks, here are the links.

Really beutiful work! The grill really made this one special. However, does it mess up signals going into our out of the cabinet?
Since this metal sliding door is designed for my customer's stereo unit, I'm not sure if it will block signals, but I think it should be okay.
I must know where you found the sliding door wheel things !
Very nice ❤
Thank you! 😊
Love your videos in theirs entireties, from the way you work, your creativity, skills, the silence accompanied by the relaxing background music 🎼. Still mystified by your channel name, call me dense, but I don’t get the mistake part ?
Thank you for the comment! haha my mistake in this video was cutting the metal grille by hands. 🤦🏻♀️
Really beautiful console! Can you share where you found the hardware for the sliding door?
Always enjoy your builds.
Hi, Here is the link for the slider. a.co/d/9sMCNxe
Simplemente, precioso
So good
Stunning as usual. I search out all the music you’ve used. Any links for this video?
All of the music is from Epidemic Sound. That's the One - Almost Here / No Thoughts of Regret - Oakwood Station / All I Could Ask For - Almost Here.
Beautiful work, as always.
Hey Jenn! I absolutely adore this! Where did you get that woven metal mesh? Would love to pick some up to do something similar!
Hi, I got that from here. www.twpinc.com/fandango-mesh
Hello Jen, warm regards. Hey, I have a question: have you already made dining room chairs?
Hi! Not yet, but I want to make a dining chair someday. 😊
honestly think it would be interesting to see you make chairs, I like your style, it is an interesting way of working 🤔😊
You do absolutely beautiful work. I am concerned about your safety using that tablesaw, though. Please use a push stick! You shouldn't let your hand get that close to the blade. Even though it seems safe enough, if that board suddenly jerks, it could pull your hand into the blade. I wouldn't want to see you lose those pretty fingers!
Thanks! I'll be sure to use a push stick. :)
... seeehr schön!
Sooooo good
The consensus is in, you're still one of my favorite channels... My only issue with this new one is that there wasn't enough food in it :)
But seriously, congrats on the new piece, it turned out amazing (not a surprise) as well as the new tools and most importantly, the new (at least to me) business and website!! I wish you nothing but the best with your new endeavor! Be well and stay safe Jenn, thank you so much for the upload!
Thank you for the comment as always! I will try to upload another video full of food. Haha
@@jennsmistake Unbeknownst to you you're singlehandedly responsible for the intense ramen addiction that plagued me for about a month a couple of years ago. It was tough to kick but in the end I pulled thru lol. Be well.
New video! It's been a long time😊
I didn't realize my last video was uploaded last year. 😥 Thank you for watching!
Can you please explain the type of cut you're doing at 6:40? I'm not sure what i'm seeing there
Hi, this isn't the exact jig I made, but you can see how it works in this video. th-cam.com/video/8TNLudKivbc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=53AbevsNhYyrrxzH
When doing the dovetails on the doors, do you purposely do perpendicular grain ?
Yes, to keep the door flat and allow for expansion and contraction, the batten should be perpendicular to the grain of the door.
This is lovely. Do you have a link for the finger pulls?
Here is the link I purchased the knobs. www.myknobs.com/pdp/hafele-15501-campaign/haf-15501572/hafele-1-7-8-recessed-pull-in-satin-brushed-brass
What hardware did you use for the sliding door?
Hi, Here is the link for the slider. a.co/d/9sMCNxe

Fantastic work! Could I ask where you got the speaker grill?
