Love Croatia! Although its doubled and maybe even tripled in price when they changed from kuna to euro. When I was there a couple months ago the locals told me prices are outrageous and its hard to find a good paying job. If it was expensive for me, then I cant imagine how it is for the locals.
Local here! I live in Dubrovnik county, did not went to the city for years now. It lost its identity trough gentrification from the tourist sector. Did you visit Split? Would love to know your thoughts on the city.
I was there recently and did not like it. It is beautiful, but not many locals live there. My ancestry is from the Balkans (Croatia/Bosnia), and I travel to meet locals for the most part. Most Croats have just invested in the properties and rented them out to tourists. It is also not super great for single travelers. It is very much a couples/families/or group of friends vibe (but I think this point will be apparent based on location).
@@Timur21 I was like 5-6 times before it was free. Then i went one year and supprise ,cost was 70 kuna -10 euro, then next time i went it was 150 kuna or 21 euro, now i see its 35 :D
На первой стойке цены за блюда 20 евро, 35 евро. Потом пицца за 15+ евро. Что-то более вменяемое по ценам только на последнем меню указано. В Хорватии реально так дорого в ресторанах или это просто место туристическое?
it was and will be a tourist hot spot way before and after the show, the prices are this high because of the pressure of incoming tourists, the city is not big but accommodates 1,5 million tourists annually plus an aditional 1,5 mil from cruisers and daily guests. the prices are that high because it would be an unbearable amount of people visiting if it was cheaper. it simply cant accomodate that many people at once.
@@dole7959 Understood. Glad I went to European countries when I was younger when it was more affordable. 90's to 2019 was the golden age of travel. 2020's is really too expensive so most people just watch videos and stay home or chill out.
I'm Croatian and I've only been to Dubrovnik once as a teen and have no wish to ever go again, even tho its beautiful and historic it's an overpriced tourist hellhole, one of those places overrun by tourism and not suitable for real life anymore, similar to Venice. doesn't feel like real city anymore more like a tourist set, and it gotten a lot worse since GoT
I live in Dalmatia and all these Restaurant you showed are scamming their customers.... too overpriced for the quality they offer! In Italy you will get much better food for less money and friendlier waiters. The people in Dubrovnik and Split have become greedy. Especially big cruiser are destroying the moral of the Dalmatians with their fast money opportunities - quick come and quick go. It is a disaster!!!
@@boby4751 well, you have to know where you go to eat.. with locals. You have to find fast food or little restaurants for locals. Old citty restaurants are very expencive. Of cource, thei are for turists. I recomend don't go there. Food is delitious but not worth all the money (Sorry for my not so well spelling, i try) 😁
What’s going on, brother Sly. Always wishing you, peace and prosperity, my brother.
I'm shocked at how overpriced the menus are lol
Jeez, 35 euros ... that's how I budget for accommodations...
Croatia became CRAZY expensive in the last 5 years or so. A lot of locals are struggling too.
Expensive but totally worth it. And actually for the same price you can get a city pass that includes all entrances including the walls.
Ух ты, как красиво-то, чисто, солнечно!

I loved Dubrovnik when I went there. Yeah it is touristy. Maybe that is why I liked it.
Wow... thanks for sharing the moment you shadowed the "Shame of Cersei" episode. Awesome view!
Thanks Sly! I learned a lot. Although those tourists really get in the way. I can see how the locals would get annoyed.
Dubrovnik is definitely a beautiful place, but it is destroyed by tourism
Until 10 years ago going to walls was FREE,now is 35 euros..

Tourist place, but overall split and dubrovnik are very expensive. Zagreb on the other hand is very cheap in terms of food
I am from there, and never but never go to eat to Old City. Its expensive especially for turists
Уф, хорошо в Хорватии😊
Very pricey for it's touristy centering around what was a great TV series until season 6 brought it to a lackluster close.
Yea did you know it was built only for game of thrones?!

Dubrovnik and the Adriatic coast is miles to touristy for my liking, that's why they can ask top dollar (euro) prices.

I don't understand how you can live in these catacombs.
Can you still pay with the old currency in mom and pop shops?
No.. € only

In Serbia we have Go Car instead of Uber, you need to investigate situation better next time.
