Thanks man for the feedback. I made this video because when I first started with the arcdroid… I literally wanted to give up. I have no confidence in the cut files I was creating…. But then when I learnt these couple key precesses… it’s now awesome to use and I can create a cut file in minutes with confidence!
Thanks mate! I was stuck trying to figure out why my files from fusion 360 wasn’t showing up on my Arcdroid , but after watching your video you set me straight.
That’s awesome feedback buddy!. I love knowing that I’ve helped fellow arcdroid users. It’s such a frustrating thing sometimes when all you want to do is make what you’ve drawn up and it just won’t work… cheers!
Thanks for the amazing feedback!. I’ve got quite a few videos out now since that one. What do you mean by scale?.. as in scaling something into a larger size or…. Just a larger project in general? 🙏
@@Fab-Life444 I am trying to make a design larger. When I finally get it the right size in fusion and when I put it on the USB to the plasma it's massive. I am a rookie here ! Then I have to scale it down by 0.035. When I measure on fusion it is the size I want. Not sure if that make sense.
@ that makes total sense. I’m confused as to why it’s doing this. Have you had This issue with anything else being incorrect with its size?. It’s either going to be something happening in the post process part or with the arcdroid and loading the dxf file. I’d be totally happy to help you figure this out for sure 👍
@@Fab-Life444 sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but life has been hectic!Any design I create on Fusion, I have to scale down on my plasma by 0.035! My son does designs using Fastcam 9 and no problems. All setting are in mm. It has got me baffled.
I don’t even have an arcdroid yet but looking into them. Your video was super informative as I was wondering how people get super detailed cutouts..surely they’re not all designing them themselves. But I see everyone gets the files from the net and the magic happens when you change the file type from jpeg to svc. Does this work the same if I got a photo or a more detailed picture? I think I need to just download the free version of fusion 360 and play around with it. I intend to make a water table for one when I do make the purchase, does much water get splashed around the place when you use yours? Making a mess on the floor? Cutting thin stuff a water table would be a must to minimise warpage. Your video is much appreciated, thanks again.
Awesome comment buddy! I love the long ones!… so … when it comes to svg files and the conversion process, allot of the time the conversion website is looking for the most defining aspects of the image. Things that have allot of contrast. I’ve had things that just didn’t convert well at all. It’s a bit touch and go. It’s best to search for silhouette images that are already black and white. Definitely get yourself the student edition that’s free for fusion 360…. Or even inkscape if you like the more “windows paint” version of software. Fusion 360 is a massive program that does so much and can be overwhelming but I really like it… and it does the post process as well, which means you don’t need to buy another program. The water bed does splash around ever so slightly. If you have the depth of water, the pressurised air gets absorbed into the water and just makes a bubbling sound. I have a heap of videos where you can see there is minimal mess. The main point of the water is to catch the smoke and dust… I’ve found the metal will still warp if travel speed and amps aren’t adjusted right for thinner metal. You’ll get the hang of it. If you do end up buying one, use my link to help my channel out if you like 🙏. Thanks again for watching. Remember to reach out on the socials if you’d like any extra guidance. I’ve learnt allot and I love sharing the knowledge. See you in the next video 😉🍻arcdroidcnc.com?aff=26
That was great, I hadn’t been extruding my sketch, that explains why sometimes I had trouble creating cut paths, also did you not have to explode the text before fixing the drop outs?, thanks again 😁
Thanks for the feedback!. I basically do everything to the sketch then finish it and extrude once out of sketch mode. Is that what you mean?… because basically what I do is keep clicking and making sure that everything I’m keep is lit up in dark blue once selected… if not… create bridges to the lonely centre bits haha
Excellent Work. Thank you for sharing. Great tips with the technique you used to join the letters. Great to see the method to do the post process and also the tool settings in Fusion 360. Good to know how you arrived at the 3mm torch height and that 1200 is the best speed using the Unimig Cut 45. Is that 1.2mm mild steel that you are cutting at 1200 and is that speed also suitable for 3mm? Have you identified an optimal height for the water level to be bellow the material being cut? I'm keen to build a similar bath and am considering the dimensions. Keep up the great work. Keen to learn any other tips you may have operating Fusion 360.
Awesome comment!. The metal I used for the face was 2mm and the subscriber plate was 3mm. Both cut at 75psi and 45amps. I know it’s higher amps than needed but… it works and that’s all that matters isn’t it. I’ve tried a lower pierce height and lower cut height but… I found that the consumables took a hit. That’s why I measured the standard spacer that the plasma torch came with and settled with that. I’ve also tried slower speeds and faster… 1200mm is such a great all round setting in my opinion. I’ve found that the water is about 3cm below the under side of the metal. The water splashes around a fair bit at that height so… I wouldn’t want to go much higher. I definitely need to build a water deflector for the front of the arcdroid as well soon. Please reach out if I’ve missed anything else and I’d be happy to share any extra info needed.
G'day! I really liked this video as I bought my arcdroid 2 days ago! I'm just curious how I go with removing the centre f a letter that I don't need as it's not removed. I'd insert a picture here but it won't let me

Good Day, thanks so much for the videos they are great. Having success but also a couple of issues, I use my ArcDroid for Yard Art Projects so sometimes complicated files?? I however downloaded a simple file from Noun Project (Raven) and keep getting errors re: Toolpath : One or more passes were discarded due to linking constraints?? I kept going into the manufacture settings as you indicated and adjusted but kept getting portions of the image not cutting/discarded?? Any ideas?? Thanks
Thanks for the comment mate 🙏 . Yeah I’ve seen this issue before myself. Usually it’s to do with kerf width, lead in lengths vs the actual openings on the 2d object you’re trying to setup. Basically if your lead in is 5mm… and kerf is whatever… you may be larger then one of the openings on the object. Hope this makes sense. You might just need to drop the lead in and out lengths or lower one of the offset parameters in fusion 360. Let me know if this helps. Happy to give more advise if needed

Does anyone know how to get the cnc vertical unimig torch to work on a razor 80 with the arcdriod getting nothing back from the Aus dealer
The hand torch has two more pins than the vertical when they are unplugged from the plasma
I’d say the hand torch has 2 more pins as it has the on/off switch built into it. Have you had the arcdroid running with a standard torch yet?.
