Lucky to be born in privilage is what Lucky girl syndrome sounds to me. As someone from a latinamerican country, many jobs offered are very precarious and many (incluiding me) libe pay check to pay check. I tried thinking as a “lucky girl” but i just got more depressed, because my context doesnt allow me those opportunities

I'm sorry that you experienced more depression when trying to take on the 'lucky girl' mindset - I agree that it's an incredibly privileged mentality that doesn't account for those whose situations/countries have limited opportunities. Thanks so much for sharing your perspective on this and sending you love.

Isabel you have a queen name! I am Brazilian, and I live in Brazil, I have had many financial difficulties in my life, and I know about the limiting beliefs and experiences related to scarcity, fear and difficulties that Latin Americans are exposed to. In the beginning, it wasn't easy, but the law of attraction helped me a lot, I advise you to start with small things, like being grateful for being alive, for having perfect health, those things that are important and go unnoticed. Search for Jill Marie, Serenity Vibration Healing, it's changing my life

I worked as a Federal Employee (Air Traffic Control) for 30+ years and each Fall we were given the opportunity to give to charities of our choice through paycheck deductions. Which I did. And a funny thing happened! I actually felt wealthier by giving $$ to charity. It’s like, well, if I have extra money to give to those in need, I must not be in need myself.
That’s how I see “Lucky Girl.” It doesn’t change anything tangible overnight, but it most certainly gives you a different perspective of your standing in the world.
    Another great video!

Lucky girl syndrome just sounds like a rebrand of "positive thinking", "the secret", or prosperity gospel. It's generally a scam.
It is true that a positive mindset is generally a good idea. It's good to be proactive.
However, life is also unpredictable and unfair, and you need to be prepared when life punches you in the gut. That means investing in your savings, but it also means investing in quality relationships.

I loved Richard Wisemans book on the topic, called Luck. He's a magician turned professor. They put lucky and unlucky people in a scenario where they imagined they got shot in the arm. Lucky people: Thank good I wasn't killed I'm so lucky! Unlucky people, I got shot in the arm! I'm so unlucky. But the different outlook on life had measureable differences in behaviour that lead to more luck.

That's so interesting to hear about it because it is literally what the Bible also talks about. Not only do we get in life what we attract by good or bad thoughts but also it reminds me of the verse "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1"
Seeing it being pushed in a more modern way makes me a bit happier since people don't always believe in God, despite using what He left in the Bible. However, knowing it is being used and seeing results from it already says a lot about the power people have that was given by God. Albert Einstein once said, "Coincidence is just God’s way of remaining anonymous.”
    Great video, thank you!

I live in a 3rd world country and definitely wasn't born in a privilegied situation, but telling myself I'm lucky definitely helps me a lot. Not only with finances, but also things like investing on myself (buying things that are going to make my life easier or that will help me keep calm and happy). I am an overthinker and kinda paranoid, so thinking that everything will be fine no matter what freed me from anxiety so many times. I should admit tho that sometimes I spend more than I should because of that way of thinking lol

Lucky girl syndrome I think comes from manifesting and subliminals. I think it can be used for good if you are trying to improve your life but never force yourself to feel happy if you aren't. So feel the bad and the good to be your truest self and to manifest what you want

Wow you’re very well spoken. When I have to present in front of class, I feel quite nervous. When you film your videos do you have a script next to you? If so do you learn it out of your head or do you glance at it. I’m trying to get better into speaking in front of a crowd or camera. Would you say you feel the same way talking in front of a camera compared to talking in front of people? Sorry for all the questions 😂 if you have any tips I would appreciate it! I love your videos so I thought asking you would be a good idea.

    • @thefinancialfreedomgirl
      @thefinancialfreedomgirl ปีที่แล้ว +17

Hi there!! Thank you so much for watching :)
When I film these videos, I have a script on my computer beside me that I glance at. Usually every sentence or two, when there's an edit in the video, I've re-glanced at the script - so it definitely gives the illusion that I'm able to rattle all of it off at once, but sadly not able to do that quite yet!
That being said, I think recording videos like this does help a lot with public speaking! It feels somewhat similar once you get used to both, the main difference with public speaking being that you don't get to edit it as much. But if you're looking to practice public speaking, I think it's worth recording yourself a bit so you can see areas to improve and get more comfortable. :)

To me the idea of "luck" here is bad because luck, by it's nature is a mysterious gift rather than strategic. People who put in work and strategy and outsmart their own psychology are doing a thing, not experiencing the magic of the universe, and they deserve to give themselves credit accordingly. Others, who simple have enough safety net that it's possible to pretend luck just appears around them don't need to feel shame about having privilege, but they need to see that there's a context of well-built foundation to being able to trust and depend on luck to eventually come, or circumstances to work in your favour - otherwise there's something delusional happening, rather like some good Christians assuming that they just do better because God's with them and their faith is worthy.
