For a lot of people, Corridors of Time is arguably the best song on the Chrono Trigger OST. And for good reason. It's wild that just from sound (and without words) you can pull together grand imagery of a time period that's never existed. Great work!
I am one of those people.
You know that feeling of missing something, someone, somewhere, but you have no memory of it, them, there? You can't remember it, but you can feel that it's not there, and that's not right. But was it real? Did it actually exist? How can something I never knew make me so sad?
That's what this song feels like.
FamilyJules + Chrono Trigger = Always gonna be great
Honestly either one of those elements plus anything will probably be at least decent LOL
Absolutely amazing work. RIP Akira Toriyama.
Damn man... thats right, crono and gang, at least the visual design were by toriyama... I may not like DB: Super, but it doesn't change that DB/DBZ and toriyama himself had some of the biggest impacts on anime and manga, his are the shoulders of those giants we speak,
@@svenstevenson2245 he is the grandfather of anime. and you should watch db super. the audacity. Vegeta would ask you where your pride is.
Chrono Trigger music always makes you lose yourself in a state of deep reflection and awareness. Like it tries to tell you something with every sound, every note. You captured that beauty, beautifully.
Music has a way of transcending all barriers. Language means nothing, even if you don't understand the words of the song.
And Chrono Trigger music transcends time and space.
This and Secret of the Forest are like a major escape in time for me. It's like I am able to disconnect and realize former versions of myself in those previous moments of escape.
Super Nintendo music in general was pinnacle of video game soundtracks. N64 and PS1 too. Where they had to think about fitting it onto the cartridge and had limited space. It made them become creative to work within the limitations of the system. Now you can just drop whatever mp3 file on it.
Super Mario RPG's soundtrack was amazing. Hell, even Donkey Kong Country has a good soundtrack...
Jesus Christ, I have heard so many covers of this song over the years but the transition from the more acoustic cover to the full metal rendition is genuinely incredible. I will never get tired of this song.
'A black wind howls... one of you will shorty parish.'
This song makes me think of this little interaction, which, if you know, you know!
Regardless, awesome cover!
Janus and Schala, the only two storys that were never fully wrapped up in the original game.
Wasn't a fan of Cross as a sequel, as a game on its own merits it was amazing, like to ignore its attempts to connect the two games.
My dude. Corridors of Time is such an iconic song, and there have been so many renditions of it, that I assumed you wouldn't have anything new to add. I was wrong. The drop at 1:51 was gorgeous, and this version really sings. This is genuinely the best thing to happen to this song since Laura Shigihara added lyrics and vocals. Excellent work.
This sounded amazing coming from the SNES and it sounds absolutely incredible here. Shows just how well composed the track was.
Shows what an artist putting their blood, sweat, and tears into a project is capable of. Which, in the case of Chrono Trigger's soundtrack, just happens to be both metaphorical and literal.
Rest in Peace, Toriyama-san 🙏
I've probably heard more covers of this song than any other VG tune. And yet you still cracked my upper echelon. Well freaking done.
Ficou magnífico! Corridors of Time é uma das minhas músicas favoritas, entre várias sensasionais, do Chrono Trigger. Parabéns, Jules.
Sir, this cover had me, a 36 yo man, in tears. Excellent cover.
I'm enjoying how your style has evolved. Seems more about evoking the feeling of the original work and less about doing leads over chugging power chords.
Ah, the glorious checkpoint of the internet. I am loving the cover, and I hope it brings peace to those who listen to it. I hope everyone is having a great day, and please hang in there!
Was there more than one? Cause the most famous one was stickerbrush symphony from DKC
@@metallsnubben Taia777 also had a Corridors of Time page, that was the checkpoint I was familiar. It's a shame that their channel got nuked. There's a discord server for it now, though!
I have to say, I absolutely love your descriptions where you break down the creative process and whatnot. It adds an extra layer to your music that I really enjoy. Fantastic cover as always Jules!
Ah, this brings me back to the golden days of Overclocked Remix. Nicely done, Jules!
The greatest RPG of all time, given a wonderful cover by a wonderful artist/musician/whatever you wanna be called. Thank you, for this. Chrono Trigger always needs more relevance. The Golden Age of RPGs on the Super Nintendo with the greatest game.... So much joy.
At first: "Oh hey nice cover"
Then the spanish guitar hit and I found myself crying. It's like the song became whole. Then you all kept raising it higher.
Thank you.
You made me feel terrible out of having too many goosebumps. Good job dude, absolute masterpiece.
Дивлюсь цей канал, коли не було навіть 10 тисяч підписників😊

I watch this channel when there were not even 10 thousand subscribers
How many years have passed
Дякую за такий якісній контент.
thank you for such quality content
What I love about this in particular is that I adore the RichaadEB version of this track, and yet despite these both being electric guitar covers of the same piece, they are both distinct from each other. I will have no problem have both on my playlist, because this cover is so unique and awesome
Stickerbush Symphony followed by Corridors of time... What a time to be alive!
That hit way harder than it had any right to. I wasn't ready. I. WASN'T. READY.
Corridors of Time is such a tranquil song it takes you away if you surrender to it. I was skeptical that you could make it work in your style. I...was wrong to doubt. The transition feels natural, I'm stunned, honestly.
This is one of my favorite songs from Chrono Trigger, and your arrangement of it is *beautiful* - wonderful work!
This is one of my favorite tracks in all of video game history and this is a perfect cover. I love your reserved and strategic use of vibrato, which a lot of musicians do not do. Gorgeous.
You were right when you said I'd be REALLY happy to hear this one! I am a happy lass :) It's been incredible hearing how much you've grown since your first cover of this! Keep smashing it Jules~✨
Thank you, Toriyama. Rest In Power
Yeah, this is a triumph. Way to nail every single part and then some. I feel you captured the essence of what it felt like to visit Zeal for the first time, especially with the section from 1:00 to about 1:30.
I've never heard a metal version of this song that stayed so respectful of the original ambiance and tone. This was beautiful.
this cover RULES!
Something about those 8 notes just puts a gamer's soul in a trance
Damn, dude! You didn't have to go that hard, but I really appreciate that you did!
12 years later hits it again and somehow makes it sound better, what a legend!
DKC and now this?! God bless you, Jules
Favorite track from Chrono......
That drop made the hair stand up on my arms dude....
I still prefer the original one, but I can appreciate your actual skill, and your love for this track. Congrats!
Very few songs in video game have made me stop, sit the controller down and experience them but this song is one of those. The excitement I felt upon seeing your upload of this is beyond words! Thank you
Memories, oh man. Chrono Trigger is the best game of all time!
This is probably one of the best covers of Corridors of Time ive heard. I'll be listening to this another 3 dozen times just this month.
This is my favorite version of corridor of time!
Truly a timeless masterpiece.
One of my favourite VG songs of all time
Regular reminder: it is ALWAYS the right time to replay Chrono Trigger.
I swear everyone who makes a Corridor of Time cover is trying to one up the last person who made one. No complaints :D.
Great Version!!!!!!!!, amo este tema, de lo mejor junto con Schala's Theme
This song will always make misty eyed and tear up. Thank you so much for posting this wonderful version.
It's just bliss when you hit those imperious high notes around 3:10... Just energy and joy.
The opening riff earns an instant like from me.
Ah, _Chrono Trigger..._ The swansong of Square's golden era. An absolutely perfect JRPG experience with engaging gameplay, an inspired story, dynamic Toriyama art, and of course, brilliantly-orchestrated Mitsuda music. What a game.
Literally just had gone back and listened to Josiah's cover of this and now I see this uploaded
You really kept the vibe of the song while shredding, mad kudos
Those strings and choir voices before you started playing the main melody. 🫠 🫠 🫠
Incredible work on this truly magical song! 🎸
I already love this. Chrono Trigger is absolutely my favorite game ever.
You're one of the few people that can capture the emotions in covers from the original game. This and Suzie's theme were perfect. Thank you
I was so impressed by the mix on this one as well as all of the tones you used and that synth sounded so good with your guitar tones, the extra effort you put into the mix on this one really paid off!!
You've come so far since those early days, and it's always a treat to hear your stuff!
This actually made me pretty emotional... Do I love Chrono Trigger? Yes. Do I love Corridors of Time? Yes and to this Day Mitsuda is my favorite composer, no contest. But none of that was what hit me. What hit me was a memory of ten years ago. A random TH-cam search and a one-off recommendation for some dude trying a guitar cover and I though, why not. I was treated to a video of a guy who clearly loved Videogame Music as much as Metal based on the posters plastered all over his walls AND he absolutely rocked Frog's Theme. That smile after he nailed the bass riff after the solo was priceless and I knew I'd be checking him out again. Now ten years later a lot has changed. I get a sub notification and that guy who was recording music in his bedroom? He's a musician in a studio, but still absolutely killing in and still sporting that smile. I hope this can happen again in another ten years, keep rockin' Jules!
Love the revamped version of the 2012 arrangement, one of my favorite covers from you.
Ps. Sick solo dude.
This goes so hard. Legendary cover status achieved.
I love the quality of your stuff. Your musical journey has definitely been enjoyable
I love the fact that we are getting these awesome covers so regularly. It honestly makes my day better, keep it up!
Oh man. What a trip down memory lane with this one. I teared up, ngl. Beautiful work, Jules!
CT is 🐐, thanks for doing it justice Jules!
I actually discovered Jules's channel through his original cover of Corridors of Time. I must have listened to it 100 times in 2012 or 2013, whenever that was.
Excellent cover, always great when Jules covers Chrono Trigger music
I think this is one of the best covers I've ever heard of Corridors of Time! Great job!!
This song is eternally a vibe
Man, who'd have thought that sweeps and tremolo picking would go so well with this song? Awesome job man!
Thanks for reminding me I haven't done my annual run of Chrono Trigger this year!
Crazy good cover! That drop gave me chills.
I am so excited to see you cover this! Huge fan of your work, and a huge fan of this song! Excellent 👌❤
This is goosebump-inducing. Absolutely incredible usage of the different guitar voices. Even when the distortion kicks in it's absolutely hypnotic.
Thank you for giving love to this classic with your tremendous talent!!
This is an amazing rendition of a timeless classic. Thank you so much for such a beautiful gift.
always so tasteful with his covers, never anything tacky or just for show. incredible as always
Sick how it’s just a montage of you shredding in your sick af studio. I’m hitting subscribe. Dope af..
I'm absolutely blown away by this. You are amazing. Thank you for this, so much.
This is my favorite track from a collection that is full of absolute gems. Glad to hear this beautiful rendition of it!
Such a lovely rendition of an all-time master piece. Thanks for keeping up the sheer quality and musical flair.
Going through a lot in my life and this song made everything better. Thank you for gracing us with this amazing cover.
NO WORDS. JUST TEARS. Memories... Superb work man. Congrats!
You really outdid yourself with this one. I've been listening to this constantly! I feel like it cleanses my soul.
I've been watching you for a long time, and your performances are always wonderful.
I want to listen to more Chrono Trigger songs.
From Japan.
Arguably one of the best tracks from Chrono Trigger and one if my personal favorites
Love how you handled this one, great job!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm so glad you did this.
One of my favorite tracks from my favorite RPG of all time. Beautiful cover, Jules. Thank you.
THIS IS SO AMAZING AND MY FAVORITE SONG FROM MY FAVORITE JRPG OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROCK MY DUDE!
this is fucking beautiful, the way the video was shot, every time your strum the first chord for the song like all of these tones and production is so otherworldly and beyond pleasing. sounds like ear candy, thank you so much for making this 💘
This is probably one of the best surprises I've received around my birthday in a long while. keep being awesome.
Dude this cover SLAPS. Was really curious to see how you’d adapt your style to this and you didn’t disappoint; this kicked ass!
Time will never pass for Chrono Trigger.
God damn i love this song. Never found a cover that had disappointed. Morr please. Whole soundtrack if possible ❤
Epic! Honorary member of the Black Mages right here!
My absolute favorite piece of video game music
Thank you for allowing me to relive the sense of wonder and amazement that this song evoked in me when I played this game back in the 90s
OMG, I hate how I got notif of this only until now! Fav game, fav song in it, beautiful choices of sound, powerful trandition that translates perfectly, this gave me chills and almost made me tear up.
The buildup and drop were fantastic. What an absolutely captivating cover, from start to finish!
Absolutely sublime!
Chrono Trigger is special to me because my mom loved it. She was in her 50's when her health turned downwards. I got her a DS and before i knew what was happening she chewed through chrono trigger and all of the pokemon games up to that point, all in under a year. This song feels magical, because it fills me with a sensation of longing for a place I've never been. Something about it makes it seem like this distant far off world I could never imagine. Thank you for the wonderful rendition.
Stay awesome
Seriously that is a beautiful thing about your Mom and wonderful what worlds we can craft with gaming that impacts all of us. Thanks for sharing bro
I think for me, its more like, longing for a time, an era and a place that is gone, where you can no longer return to. Maybe not so much about not a longing for the magical kingdom off zeal, but instead, those bygone years you spent with your mother... those years when my sister was still alive.
It's amazing that video games can have this kind of influence on people.
Some people think video games are just waste of time, but I think people who are wiser realize it's actually high art, and done right, it can speak to the human condition. Every game ever made that we remember is nothing less than a Heroes journey and a story about how to have courage in the face of evil and of doubt.
The fact that a 30 year old game can bring that sense of contentment to a human being during a time of trouble is a beautiful thing, and it proves in my mind, that video games can be symphonies if done right.
I saluted this post so hard that the concussive force of my hand to my forehead knocked me unconscious for 4 hours... I just woke up and am now pressing the reply button.
