- The prog vibe is undeniable with this track from the group’s debut album, here in a slightly altered version. It includes a few snippets from the 1980 concert at the Paradiso, which finds Kerr riffing on Bowie’s 'Memory of a Free Festival' (“sun machine is coming down and we’re gonna have a party”).
All sounds by Simple Minds. No added ingredients. (What may sound like an additional distorted guitar during the first part of the track is actually the original bass part played by DF - extracted using the Moises app - run through a fuzz box emulation.)

Disclaimer: While this isn’t exactly my favourite Mindstune, it was requested several times, and therefore I wanted to give it a try. There are probably more creative ways to mangle this track. Hopefully, someone else out there will have at it.

Great track, classic first album, first time I heard simple minds Chelsea girl on John Peel,then seen them supporting magazine in Edinburgh Clouds, seen them in the stagedoor I think it was called in Dundee only about 15 people there, but still great gig

Great great ! The final part "sweet light etc" always sounded familiar to me until I noticed the chord progression was exactly the same - transposed - as the one used in the verses and the chorus of Dont You Forget About me. Try to sing on it, it works. Finally maybe Simple Minds really wrote DYFAM !

In order to publish the remixes on Spotify, I would have to ask the copyright holder for permission, which I haven't. The mixes are not based on the multi tracks, and therefore sonically too compromised for any semi-official release. They need the videos (even if those are pretty rough themselves and decidedly the work of a hack).
