Sutton High Street was at its best in the 1980s with shops like alders , gamley, burger King, and the original pubs like the red lion , green man, and dolphin etc 👌

I use to work at WHSmiths in Sutton in 1989 :D (glad it's still there well half of it) Then HMV in 1990's(shame no HMV there no more I think) :(

I spent the first 60years of my life in Sutton/Carshalton, and I drove a black taxi, based at Sutton station for about ten years. I have great memories of the area and still go back once a month and stay the weekend with relatives. Sutton used to get quite rowdy at night with all the theme pubs and a few night clubs around. Nearby Carshalton is a lovely village and I used to be a regular at the Greyhound pub, Carshalton ponds, for many years, and I have wonderful memories of old friends from there. Sutton is NOT in the county of Surrey , hasn`t been since 1965 , Sutton is in Greater London
