I read the book of Daniel and Revelation today, and they are very similar. That is Daniel's vision of what is to come. I want to be like Daniel and his brothers. We need to start to pray and pray a lot!

I really like this guy but he seems to be confused about Catholicism. A religion that teaches you are saved by works, bows to idols, teaches a man can forgive sins which is blasphemy, calls the Pope holy father which is blasphemy, teaches Mary can hear millions of prayers and is omnipresent like God which is blasphemy etc etc.

I'd keep one eye on New Zealand. Ever since the UK dumped Australia and New Zealand for the EEC in 1973. New Zealand went broke overnight and in 1975 Muldoon sold New Zealand to the UN Sustainable Development Agreement in Peru. They got a new anthem to because they have nothing and none else. No ANZUS anymore. But they sing God defend New Zealand in two tongues, Maori Te reo and English. Not everyone is Maori or English, or a Christian. No other country is like this. Here in Australia, Postmodern man wants to erase all copies of Modernity. Tear down the statues. Francis A Schaeffer's 'The God who is there.' Schaeffer understood the problem for Modernity and its relationship or perhaps demise at the hands of a violent Postmodern Post-Christian ideology. Babylon was originally called Babilu, meaning "Gate of God", with its citizens thinking of their city as God's seat of government, building within it a tower, in order to "make a celebrated name for ourselves".(Gen 11:4), but was renamed Babel, meaning "confusion", after "Jehovah (God's name, see Isa 12:2, KJV) confused the language of all the earth (most likely Hebrew), and Jehovah scattered them from there over the entire face of the earth".(Gen 11:9) Daniel was taken to ancient Babylon (the later name of Babel) in 618 B.C.E. (Dan 1:1), possibly as a teenager and remained there until he died at about age 100 after 536 B.C.E. What is the prophetic "Babylon" in the Bible (whereby "Babylon" is seen more than 350 times in the Bible), as at Isaiah 52:11, that says "Turn away, turn away, get out of there, touch nothing unclean ! Get out from the midst of her (see Rev 18:4), keep yourselves clean, you who are carrying the utensils of Jehovah ?" "For because of the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality (or seductive false teachings and practices, such as "the earth will be burned up" (2 Pet 3:10, KJV), instead of knowing accurately that "the earth......will not be moved from its place forever and ever", Ps 104:5; Ecc 1:4; Matt 5:5), all the nations have fallen victim, and the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth (or the greedy commercial system, that pushes love of money) became rich owing to the power of her shameless luxury.” The religions of the world are "in the driver's seat" for now, able to influence the political leaders to do its "bidding", and at times, a political leader is also deeply immersed in their "religion", such as Narendra Modi of India in Hinduism, of Islam, the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei of Iran, Joe Biden of the United States that is Catholic, Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom is Hindu, etc. Revelation 17:18 states: "And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom OVER the kings of the earth.” Thus, the religions of the world are able to control, manipulate, sway "the ebb and flow" of politics to a great extent. At Revelation 18:4, 5, Jehovah God gives this warning, telling sincere people: "And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get OUT of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind." At Isaiah 2:2-4, it establishes where Jehovah God resides, who his people are: "In the final part of the days (that began in 1914, when Jesus was crowned king of God's Kingdom, Dan 7:13, 14; Rev 6:1, 2), the mountain of the house of Jehovah (or true worship) will become firmly established above the top of the mountains (or political governments that people look to for protection) and it will be raised up above the hills (or human institutions that people look to for support), and to it all the nations will stream." "And many peoples will go and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah (or true worship), to the house of the God of Jacob. He will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For law will go out of (symbolic) Zion, and the word of Jehovah out of (symbolic) Jerusalem."(see Gal 4:26; Heb 12:25) "He will render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war anymore."

The problem is that we do not know exactly when Daniel was written..Current biblical scholarship places it at approx 165 Bce.At the time of the Maccabean revolt. There is no way we can verify what ot says or even if anything it talks about is true,or just a series of old stories..

Also...lf Daniel was not written until the mid 2nd century bce then most of the empires "prophecied" would already have come and gone so it can't really be a prophecy..lron helmets are known to have been used by the Assyrians as early as the 8th century bce and the Romans were using iron mail armour by the 3rd century bce. The most popular type of Greek body armour was some type of padded linen..not bronze..and Greek spears and swords often had iron blades.. Persian troops,especially heavier cavalry wore bronze scale armour,as well as linen.. Your prophetic linear time scale is just not accurate.. @jameschee4897

Do any theists who are all followers of different sects or cults of the same god idea realise how absurd their differences are, not even being able to agree how and when a person and at what age, is to be dumped in a body of water in order to be "redeemed"? Truth exists, just like gravity exists. The fact that not everyone has always agreed on theology does not mean there is no truth, just like the fact that not everyone throughout history has understood scientific principles does not prove that no such principles exist. God exists and has inspired and revealed His will to mankind over and over. Mankind has sometimes listened and sometimes not. God, the omniscient Creator of the world is real and is fully capable of calling prophets and speaking to mankind, as He has done in the past. He doesn't force people to listen to Him

He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.” The beast in Revelation chapter 13 is understood to refer to the Antichrist, the man of lawlessness (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Daniel 9:27). So, the whore of Babylon, whoever it is, is closely affiliated with the end-times Antichrist. The fact that the whore of Babylon is referred to as a mystery means that we cannot be completely certain as to her identity. The passage does give us some clues, however. Revelation 17:9 explains, “This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.” Many commentators link this passage with the Roman Catholic Church because in ancient times, the city of Rome was known as “the city on seven hills” because there are seven prominent hills that surround the city. However, verse 10 goes on to explain that the seven hills represent 7 kings or kingdoms, five of which have fallen, one that is and one that is to come. Therefore, the "whore of Babylon" cannot refer exclusively to Rome. So, can the mystery of the whore of Babylon be solved? Yes, at least partially. The whore of Babylon is an evil world system, controlled by the Antichrist, during the last days before Jesus’ return. The whore of Babylon also has religious connotations - spiritual adultery with the beast being the focus of an ungodly, end-times religious system.

"She who is at Babylon greets you..." Peter wrote in I Peter 5.13. With time you grasp that Peter was referring to "believers" as "She", an allusion to the Bride of Christ. Peter was geographically in ROME. Thus, in I Peter 5.13 Peter implies ROME is Babylon...spiritually speaking. How can ROME be Babylon? Once you begin discerning the Spirit's use of that analogy, you can begin applying it to Revelation. The ruling non-Jew government that controls the temple mount is spiritually speaking "Babylon". The future "Babylon" as a nation is not literal Babylon but a non-Jew dictatorship that controls fully the temple mount and the Jewish rites associated with the temple. Personally, that final "Babylon" will be a Middle Eastern nation probably Saudia Arabia or Iraq. After the Ezekiel War, only the Sunni Muslims are left as SHIA Muslims and Iran are JUDGED by God Himself, Ezekiel 38-9. Thus, the final world "Babylon" is a Sunni nation which controls the Temple mount.
Rome is a popular assumption, but is not supported by scripture (see below). Peter’s headquarters was Jerusalem and his primary missionary work was to the circumcision of the flesh. In what way was he comparing Jerusalem to Babylon? The clue is in Acts 2 on Pentecost when the apostles began speaking in various languages/tongues to all the worshippers gathering there echoing the tower of Babel which a new temple will become without the Spirit of God, in rebellion to the New Covenant blood of Christ. Revelation confirms earthly Jerusalem as Mystery Babylon.

During Daniel's 70th week, aka REVELATION, the "man of sin" claims to be Messiah. Thus, this man and Jerusalem spiritually becomes "Babylon", the home to the final UNITY of the Muslim world's final Gentile power. The Israelites and believers have FLED Israel post 3.5 year mark of the final 7 year rule of the man of sin. So, the "Rise of Babylon" will be a Muslim nation that ultimately betrays Israel and the Apostate Rome which leads the apostate church. At the 3.5 year mark the "whore" who rides the Beast is also attacked and destroyed. Chrislam is no more, Islam is. Thus, Chrislam as a tool by the Muslims to ultimately destroy the "professing" church led by apostate Rome. @@rlu1956 that’s a lot of speculation and doesn’t make sense since the text says the woman/great city/Jerusalem-Babylon rules over the kings of the earth (Rev 17.18) - not ruled by a foreign nation - and the man of sin/beast with his ‘prophet’ (second beast) renews the Sinai covenant/law (the rabis expect Elijah to do this) bringing in a new temple and sacrifices and priesthood until the daily offerings are stopped after 3.5 years and he is set up as Lord in the temple throne and openly attacks the faithful remnant (incl. the 144,000 numbered out of the 12 tribes in Rev 7) in the land (Rev 12.12-17) some who flee to the wilderness/mts for the remaining 3.5 years.
Babylon is depicted as a woman wearing the colors and jewels with names which describes the high priest’s outfit described in Exodus 28 - who also wore the Name of the Lord upon a crown on the forehead, but in the spirit we see behind the facade in Rev 17.5

I really like this guy but he seems to be confused about Catholicism. A religion that teaches you are saved by works, bows to idols, teaches a man can forgive sins which is blasphemy, calls the Pope holy father which is blasphemy, teaches Mary can hear millions of prayers and is omnipresent like God which is blasphemy etc etc.

I'd keep one eye on New Zealand. Ever since the UK dumped Australia and New Zealand for the EEC in 1973. New Zealand went broke overnight and in 1975 Muldoon sold New Zealand to the UN Sustainable Development Agreement in Peru. They got a new anthem to because they have nothing and none else. Babylon was originally called Babilu, meaning "Gate of God", with its citizens thinking of their city as God's seat of government, building within it a tower, in order to "make a celebrated name for ourselves".(Gen 11:4), but was renamed Babel, meaning "confusion", after "Jehovah (God's name, see Isa 12:2, KJV) confused the language of all the earth (most likely Hebrew), and Jehovah scattered them from there over the entire face of the earth".(Gen 11:9)
Daniel was taken to ancient Babylon (the later name of Babel) in 618 B.C.E. (Dan 1:1), possibly as a teenager and remained there until he died at about age 100 after 536 B.C.E.
What is the prophetic "Babylon" in the Bible (whereby "Babylon" is seen more than 350 times in the Bible), as at Isaiah 52:11, that says "Turn away, turn away, get out of there, touch nothing unclean ! Get out from the midst of her (see Rev 18:4), keep yourselves clean, you who are carrying the utensils of Jehovah ?"
The "harlot" or "the great prostitute" at Revelation 17 are the false religions of the world called Babylon the Great (using the prototype of ancient Babylon, as "a land of graven images", Jer 50:38, where false religion and spiritism thrived, see Isa 47:9-13; Rev 18:23) in which Christendom is a major part and they are "in bed" with "the kings (or political leaders) of the earth", committing "sexual immorality".(Rev 17:1-5)
These are intimately involved with each other, but which the religions of the world have the upper hand over the political leaders, and that "earth's inhabitants were made drunk with the wine of her sexual immorality" due to its seductive false religious doctrines and practices, that causes them to be as in a sexually drunken state.(see Hosea 4:11)
And "peoples and crowds and nations and tongues" are easily swayed to commit wicked atrocities "in the name of God", committing murder, slaughtering one another as in political wars, and still believing they are "in God's good graces".(Rev 17:15; see Matt 23:33-39; Rev 18:24)
At Revelation 18:1-3, it says: "After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory. And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: “She has fallen ! Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons and a place where every unclean spirit and every unclean and hated bird lurks !"
"For because of the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality (or seductive false teachings and practices, such as "the earth will be burned up" (2 Pet 3:10, KJV), instead of knowing accurately that "the earth......will not be moved from its place forever and ever", Ps 104:5; Ecc 1:4; Matt 5:5), all the nations have fallen victim, and the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth (or the greedy commercial system, that pushes love of money) became rich owing to the power of her shameless luxury.”
The religions of the world are "in the driver's seat" for now, able to influence the political leaders to do its "bidding", and at times, a political leader is also deeply immersed in their "religion", such as Narendra Modi of India in Hinduism, of Islam, the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei of Iran, Joe Biden of the United States that is Catholic, Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom is Hindu, etc.
Revelation 17:18 states: "And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom OVER the kings of the earth.” Thus, the religions of the world are able to control, manipulate, sway "the ebb and flow" of politics to a great extent.
At Revelation 18:4, 5, Jehovah God gives this warning, telling sincere people: "And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get OUT of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind."
At Isaiah 2:2-4, it establishes where Jehovah God resides, who his people are: "In the final part of the days (that began in 1914, when Jesus was crowned king of God's Kingdom, Dan 7:13, 14; Rev 6:1, 2), the mountain of the house of Jehovah (or true worship) will become firmly established above the top of the mountains (or political governments that people look to for protection) and it will be raised up above the hills (or human institutions that people look to for support), and to it all the nations will stream."
"And many peoples will go and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah (or true worship), to the house of the God of Jacob. He will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For law will go out of (symbolic) Zion, and the word of Jehovah out of (symbolic) Jerusalem."(see Gal 4:26; Heb 12:25)

The most popular type of Greek body armour was some type of padded linen..not bronze..and Greek spears and swords often had iron blades..

With time you grasp that Peter was referring to "believers" as "She", an allusion to the Bride of Christ.
Peter was geographically in ROME. Thus, in I Peter 5.13 Peter implies ROME is Babylon...spiritually speaking.
How can ROME be Babylon?
Once you begin discerning the Spirit's use of that analogy, you can begin applying it to Revelation. The ruling non-Jew government that controls the temple mount is spiritually speaking "Babylon".
The future "Babylon" as a nation is not literal Babylon but a non-Jew dictatorship that controls fully the temple mount and the Jewish rites associated with the temple.
Personally, that final "Babylon" will be a Middle Eastern nation probably Saudia Arabia or Iraq. After the Ezekiel War, only the Sunni Muslims are left as SHIA Muslims and Iran are JUDGED by God Himself, Ezekiel 38-9.
Thus, the final world "Babylon" is a Sunni nation which controls the Temple mount.
Rome is a popular assumption, but is not supported by scripture (see below). Peter’s headquarters was Jerusalem and his primary missionary work was to the circumcision of the flesh.
In what way was he comparing Jerusalem to Babylon? The clue is in Acts 2 on Pentecost when the apostles began speaking in various languages/tongues to all the worshippers gathering there echoing the tower of Babel which a new temple will become without the Spirit of God, in rebellion to the New Covenant blood of Christ.
Revelation confirms earthly Jerusalem as Mystery Babylon.
Revelation uses 3 identifiers all of which locks in the great city Jerusalem on earth at the end of the age:

During Daniel's 70th week, aka REVELATION, the "man of sin" claims to be Messiah. Thus, this man and Jerusalem spiritually becomes "Babylon", the home to the final UNITY of the Muslim world's final Gentile power.
The Israelites and believers have FLED Israel post 3.5 year mark of the final 7 year rule of the man of sin.
So, the "Rise of Babylon" will be a Muslim nation that ultimately betrays Israel and the Apostate Rome which leads the apostate church. At the 3.5 year mark the "whore" who rides the Beast is also attacked and destroyed. Chrislam is no more, Islam is.
Thus, Chrislam as a tool by the Muslims to ultimately destroy the "professing" church led by apostate Rome.
The "tribulation saints" are all hiding, broken into groups worldwide as the man of sin tries to destroy them all.

@@rlu1956 that’s a lot of speculation and doesn’t make sense since the text says the woman/great city/Jerusalem-Babylon rules over the kings of the earth (Rev 17.18) - not ruled by a foreign nation - and the man of sin/beast with his ‘prophet’ (second beast) renews the Sinai covenant/law (the rabis expect Elijah to do this) bringing in a new temple and sacrifices and priesthood until the daily offerings are stopped after 3.5 years and he is set up as Lord in the temple throne and openly attacks the faithful remnant (incl. the 144,000 numbered out of the 12 tribes in Rev 7) in the land (Rev 12.12-17) some who flee to the wilderness/mts for the remaining 3.5 years.
Babylon is depicted as a woman wearing the colors and jewels with names which describes the high priest’s outfit described in Exodus 28 - who also wore the Name of the Lord upon a crown on the forehead, but in the spirit we see behind the facade in Rev 17.5

So it cannot be Yahrusalem that is mystery Babylon, its city of London or Washington DC because those are the financial centers and systems that the world has grown wealthy off of and Washington DC has 7 hills and there are a lot of other prophecies pointed at Columbia the whore dressed in Scarlet.... Revelation 17:3 gives this description: “Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.” The beast mentioned in this verse is the same beast as in Revelation chapter 13:1, “And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.” The beast in Revelation chapter 13 is understood to refer to the Antichrist, the man of lawlessness (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Daniel 9:27). So, the whore of Babylon, whoever it is, is closely affiliated with the end-times Antichrist.
The fact that the whore of Babylon is referred to as a mystery means that we cannot be completely certain as to her identity. The passage does give us some clues, however. Revelation 17:9 explains, “This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.” Many commentators link this passage with the Roman Catholic Church because in ancient times, the city of Rome was known as “the city on seven hills” because there are seven prominent hills that surround the city. However, verse 10 goes on to explain that the seven hills represent 7 kings or kingdoms, five of which have fallen, one that is and one that is to come. Therefore, the "whore of Babylon" cannot refer exclusively to Rome. Revelation 17:15 tells us, “Then the angel said to me, ‘The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.’” The whore of Babylon will have great worldwide influence over people and nations. Verses 10-14 describe a series of eight and then ten kings who affiliate with the beast. The whore of Babylon will at one time have control over these kings (Revelation 17:18), but at some point the kings will turn on her and destroy her (Revelation 17:16).
So, can the mystery of the whore of Babylon be solved? Yes, at least partially. The whore of Babylon is an evil world system, controlled by the Antichrist, during the last days before Jesus’ return. The whore of Babylon also has religious connotations - spiritual adultery with the beast being the focus of an ungodly, end-times religious system.
