My little girl used to do this. In the last year of her life it was actually the only time she did bark and I imagine that her dreams were the place she could run and bark and play like she had when she was young.
Its perfectly normal. Like a human sleep talks, a dog sleep barks when hes having a good dream. Friendly reminder dont ruin their dreams. So dont wake them up
some dogs were artificially disfigured, so they have real issues breathing and sometimes suffocate. Any squashed nose, contracted breed, especially pugs and the like.
@@Spicystachegamer well i guess its different for different dogs. No 2 dogs are exactly the same (well that's not true, because science litterally forces it not to be but anyway-)
Actually when this occurs in humans it's called a Parasomnia (such as REM Behavior Disorder) and these correlate strongly with sleep disordered breathing. Basically the dog choking every couple of minutes whenever it sleeps.
My black lab Taytom used to do this. Quite frequently and loudly, too. We would always gently wake her up when we started feeling like her dreams weren't so pleasant, and every single time she would smile at us. Not like your typical doggy smile, I mean an honest-to-god S M I L E. As in the corners of her lips would curve upwards just like ours do. It was the cutest freakin' thing ever.
MrJohnycomelately21 In regards to the one who does this, I think mine dreams about reuniting with people/animals he’s lost, in particular, my mother (his original owner) and my grandparent’s dog (who happened to be his half sister). He got very depressed when he couldn’t find either of them and although it sounds like he’s having a nightmare, I like to think he’s dreaming about running towards one of the ones I mentioned previously.
LOL it’s to cute when dogs are dreaming like that. My dachshund is 18 years old and he still dreams like that. My 13 year old terrier Maltese is the same way, he dreams and will bark. It’s funny how dogs bark in their sleep and you can hear them. You always want to wonder what their dreaming about.
My dog used to do this and I would wake him if he seemed too distressed in his dream by stroking his head and his eyes would open a little, look at me and he'd smile and close his eyes again and go back to sleep. The best thing humans ever did was show compassion to the runt of the wolf litter all those years ago. Now we have so many breeds of dog all over the world who reciprocate our compassion with love. People say we don't deserve dogs but we do
I have a old ass dog. he loves to stay in my room because of how quiet it is (besides my video games) and sometimes lays down and sleeps. He’ll do this and it melts my heart of the cuteness, bruhs probably 40 in dog years
My Boy Ziggy, a Great Dane German Shepard mix would do this as well though his sleep barks could get loud. I shared a room with my brother and our dog sleep in his own bed in the room. So one night Ziggy was barking in his sleep that it woke me up. I didn’t mind as I found it to be cute. Well my brother didn’t as much as when Ziggy was barking my brother got up and told Ziggy to be quite. I later learned that my brother has no memory of this, so it means that my brother in a sleepy state told my dog to be quite who was barking in his sleep. I just chuckle at this to myself.
My poodle just did something do similar!! It wasn't quite a bark, rather like she was loudly exhaling, but her whole body moved and a bit of sound came out! It's so cute!
my great dane did the same, shes barking in her sleep, right today i heard her barking like this and call for her "Spitfire whats wrong? why are you barking??" i go to see her and she was sleeping i coundt help but smile :)
This reminds me of a Labrador my sister used to have. He was the most lazy dog in the world and seemed more active in his sleep than in his few waking hours.
I call it the water drop dream bark sound , my lab does the same. All of us were alarmed the first time we heard it and now only hope she’ll do it while we are around

A lovely thought
- Lie down
- Try not to cry
- Cry a lot
I sorry
I'm sure she had a good life with you. 🙂
Yes, our Labrador often chases the bunnies when he slept. Occasionally, he catch one!😂
"Mail men....every where! Must chase....mail men!"

Why my dog has Nightmares ?
My dad always said when they do that, they're chasing rabbits
why not intruders or aliens in garden

I want an 8 hour version of this haha. Doggie dreams are comforting, and the background shower is soothing too. I'd snooze right next to the pup.
They might have it u never know 😂
Loop it
That's stupid.
@@Aden068 loop wasn't a thing 4 years ago
that’s a nightmare why is that comforting
Reminds me of my dog I used to have.
Never wake them up & let them enjoy their dreams in peace.
labradors are true friends
What if they are having nightmares
You know what they say: let sleeping dogs lie.
I wake mine up every time cause he looks in distress.
@@akmov7922 wakings dog up during a dream (especially a nightmare) disturbs them and they may snap at you when they wake up.

I always sneak towards my dog when she does that to observe. It’s adorable.

My chocolate lab does the exact same thing . I guess all labs dream of catching squirrels.

My english lab does this, top
According to my brother, she howls as well
Mine howls in his sleep sometimes. Little low volume awooos.
Every dog has probably done this at one point during sleeping. It makes me feel happy inside when they do this. Dogs are just great aren’t they.
You get ‘em little buddy 💚🐶
It always makes me so happy to see that Dogs can also dream. They also have their wants and what they like.

There is nothing more innocent than a sleeping labrador. Untill he wakes up and smells food on the kitchen counter, then innocent no more.
adorabile che è il cucciolo
I had a lab that did this. She would also start doing a full on sprinting motion with her legs lol.

The way he barks
His paws twitched as he dreamed... and, oh,.the rabbits are everywhere, this grey and endless morning.

Even in sleep, defending his pack.
