I don't think it's supposed to be specifically about a toxic relationship but rather all things in life that can cause trauma - of course, abuse being one of them. So I definitely agree with the fact that we can't ignore the message, but I just wanted to add that it doesn't have to be anything romantic as the lyrics didn't specify the source of their memories and feelings
i love the fact that they thought about all the details of the song thoroughly,,, even the 3d effect at the start could represent how the troubles and trauma spin around your head and the repetition of the word la could be showing how the thoughts repeat over and over again in your head

Other bands have made songs referencing difficult things like "Stockholm Syndrome" by one direction, but they completely miss represented it. They made it seem romantic or something when really it's HORRIBLE. EXO did a good job on this song. They made it catchy, fun to listen to, and, as someone who lives with PTSD, I can say they represent trauma fairly well. Good job.
