Such a great message done so creatively!
I respectfully disagree. I think this blocky colorful style is bad to begin with and primarily because it resembles the Beatles yellow submarine cartoon, which many people dislike exactly because of its shifty art. In some way this art goes against the idea of the lyrics and music. The lyrics is about a message relevant to real world and real suffering people. But the cartoon shows very literally flat people mostly with somewhat idealized unicorn-like magical features. I’d like to think about the reality. Maybe accentuated images of sadness and suffering. Yet in this music video cartoon for whatever reason the biggest problem is to get a playground for the kids/people to hang out at. Almost like the realtors missed the reality important messages. I am sure racist policemen or various greedy people would like nothing more than just to give the poor people a playground and get them to shut up since it costs them nothing to build a playground.
@@StopFear I think you raise valid points. The funny thing is currently, there are many proclaiming this show and others by the Obamas are the reason for Netflix failing. To incorporate your ideas, the argument would be that it is too "woke." Perhaps there was a desire to get the main message across and make it as inclusive as possible. Once you get more people educated in participating then you can start to increase their knowledge on the current social issues that need addressing. Just a hypothesis.
Watched the whole thing and was wishing there were even more songs.

In some way this art goes against the idea of the lyrics and the music in it. The lyrics seems to be sending a message relevant to real world and real suffering people and probably about racism and lack of concern for the poor people, being politically involved.(probably) But the cartoon shows very literally flat sided people mostly with somewhat idealized unicorn-like magical features. Basically people reduced to cartoon characters.
I’d like to think that a cartoon which doesn’t reduce sad aspects of reality but accentuates them is better when a topic is a serious subject matter. (Opinion) art style seems simple and a bit cheap, for the bright colors appear regularly. Animation is pretty cool, yet It's got a trippy aesthetic to it. Personally it is a 6/10, but it wasn't bad, but not great nor horrible either.
Message talks about change, and honestly change starts with YOU. Politics are complicated and simple, yet confusing and chaotic, and I find them interesting, but also stupid and ridiculous in certain aspects.
Either way, the videos and music are a meh, a neutral opinion, for they are not horrible but not amazing either.
