- While we were waiting for dinner to cook tonight, Kasey and I played a bit of Trevor Stuart’s beautiful fiddle tune, Henry King’s Reel (in a weird tuning). Trevor wrote some of my favorite “new” fiddle tunes. He is/was one of my favorite fiddlers. His playing was deeply rooted, supremely tasteful, and profoundly graceful. There's nothing unnecessary in it, and it's not missing anything. It's the best kind of fiddling. If you like fiddle music, it’s worth checking out the Stuart Brothers releases here oldtimetikipar... and here: stuartbrothers... I think you'll dig their recordings if you haven't heard them.
It's mutated a bit in my hands, but it was fun to play it.
Enjoy. Pardon the foot tap shake up. It's hard not to tap.

That's a toe-tapper! Thanks for doing it. Nice guitar accompaniment, too!
Super Sweet!
Mighty dancy. Beautiful
I haven't been playing very long but I was playing with him in hi bass
Amazing. You introduced me to the tune and the Stuart Brothers in general. A very fine version of a very fine song. Thanks for sharing!
Love your fiddling, such great accompaniment too!
Beauty! 👏🏻🎻
Excellent tune and fine work both. It’s nice to see your partner on guitar, whom I have never met. Cheers to you both from Santa Cruz. Craig
Hi Craig, Thanks for the note! I hope you're well. JD
That was terrific playing by both of you! Would you share the tuning please?
C# ? wow!
What is your tuning?
Trevor Stuart played/wrote the tune in GDAE. I'm playing in ADAD (although I may be a bit low).
