Got my first Timex Diver as a kid in the 70s and I still remember the shop my parents got it from as it was my first day at junior school. I have a Scout, a 76 automatic and another that I got pre-owned that looks a bit Explorerish. Timex has a place in my heart.
The first watch that I was bought as a child to learn to tell the time was a Timex. They hold a special place in my heart just because of that. Thanks Mum and Dad.
Same here, and when I started working out of school I bought myself my first watch, another Timex. Wore nothing else for 10+ years, Expeditions mostly...
While I was a working man, I couldn't wear wristwatches at work, so I used cheap belt loop watches, or pocket watches. When I retired, I decided to get into wristwatches and bought a Timex Expedition to start my collection. I loved the look and feel of the watch, but after a month or so, I noticed that it was losing almost a minute a week. I changed the battery hoping it was a bad battery, but it still kept losing time. So, I hung it up in my bathroom to use as a mini clock. After about a month, I went to reset the time and discovered that the time was dead on! Apparently, if I wear the watch, it runs slow, but if it is hanging on the wall, it keeps very good time. Regarding the noisiness: I discovered this in the middle of the night, sitting on the throne. I thought my faucet was dripping because I kept hearing this drip, drip, drip, drip... but it was the Timex ticking up against the wall, which seemed to add some reverb to the sound. It makes a nice, small wall clock, and the Indiglo comes in handy when fumbling around in the dark in the middle of the night. I have moved on to nicer watches, but still like my mini wall clock.
Timex is such an underrated Watch-Company.. Yes, there are mostly loud ticking quartz movements, Yes, most of them dont even have stainless steel.. but they are dirt cheap, reliable, accurate, have great straps, a great variety of styles, a lot of them have this nice vintage military inspired styling, and you never have the feeling, that you throw your money out of the window.
I still have my (working) 'Timex Sprite' Christmas present from 1974, assembled in the Dundee manufacture. It left the factory with a jewelled M75 movement, rather than the M25 - a clear error.

I have owned a timex weekender for just over 3 years . No problem with the ticking and the same battery .The second timex you showed looked very nice indeed .
Watching this wearing my new Timex Todd Snyder Welton. 34mm's of lovely 50's vintage style. I have a few timex's (timeii?) and all are surprisingly very good indeed. Timex have been quietly going about their business, listening to their customers and smashing it out of the park lately - particularly their vintage re-issues.
I’m a Timex fanboy and feel they are often underrepresented compared to the budget love Casio gets. I’m currently at 4 in my collection. I also find audible ticking seconds soothing.
Yeah count me in as another that doesn't mind the ticking sound on some of their models. Now mind you not all their single second hands tick like the Expedition, Weekender or Easy Rearder. I have quite of few models that are fairly quiet. such as the Todd Snyder military I'm wearing now.
@@nakazatotakeshi4286 Casio has more value but not a lot of variety in their watches. A lot of them are en eyesore, but they're really affordable so I can't knock them.
Hiya and fun fact. The Indiglo Timex movements run a 3 volt battery to support the dial illumination when used. Most quartz analogues use 1.55 volt. This simply causes the stepper motor to move with more gusto. That's the reason for the loud tick.Cheers.
One of my first purchases when I got into watch collecting was one of these. At the time I bought mine it was only $45. The reason I bought it was it’s good looks, and it was my first chronograph. I have a Timex mechanical hand wind that was my first watch ever. I recurved it for my birthday in the third grade, which was in 1960! It still runs perfectly, and is my most accurate mechanical watch. I wore it as a kid when I mowed yards around town. The finish is awfully corroded, but it HAS taken a licking and kept on ticking!!! It is a permanent member of my collection, but then I am a very sentimental old man. Great review as always Jody!!!
Several nice models in the Waterbury collection have tempted me to add a second Timex to my collection. My first is an Expedition Scout --a great looking field watch with a built-in 1 Hz metronome ;). The BEST part of your video is the Cal Poly shirt --just dropped my son off for his junior year at SLO. Always look forward to Just One More Watch!
The slogan really does tell the story. I love my 2004 Expedition, bought in New Orleans because I was at a conference and didn't want to miss any of the sessions I'd signed up for. I don't really mind the ticking (my hearing's suffered from 30 years of rock guitar playing, so YMMV :D). Over the last sixteen years the little blighter's taken everything in stride - getting soaked, banged into things, dropped onto various unforgiving surfaces, stepped on, pretty much everything except run over by a truck, and beyond some scratches it just keeps on keeping on.
Timex is one of my top favorite brands. They have such a cast selection of watches, movements, styles, and functions. And, always affordable for everyone.
After one year of watching your video, I got myself a white dial 40mm diameter with tachymeter scale, weekender chronograph at about USD55. Always wanted a tachymeter watch at budget. Nice looking piece and definitely a strap monster. It would be a good weekend, weekday, casual & formal watch for me. Also a fantastic watch to wear at night if I ever need to check the time in total darkness. No loud ticking on this one, except when chronograph timer is started. Cheers!
You are right- the straps are remarkably nice! I had a weekender, It was loud so I sold it, BUT not before really giving thought to keeping the strap. Now have the timex Welton (AKA Midget) and the strap and bund is REALLY NICE! I was thinking I;d have to replace it but no. Im keeping it. Nice. Soft. real leather wears like a dream.
Jody, I love the Timex Expedition Field Chronograph. Looks like a B-Flieger and field crossover with design elements borrowed from a Cessna cockpit! My Weekender ticks like crazy yet this one does not.
My father still talks about his Timex he wore 50 years ago and I was old enough to remember it. Just wish I could get my hands on a vintage one again. Excellent review Jody.
This is a great watch for high school or college students. Stylish, well made, inexpensive. Second hand lined up! Hopefully Timex comes out with styles I can't get anywhere else. A friend asked his 92 year old mother what she thought of Timex, and she replied "Timex makes cheap watches." So Timex has a reputation to overcome. I have more money than wrists, so my limited resource is wrist time. Therefore I'll buy more expensive and unique watches.
It's a great watch for the money that's for sure. I have the Expedition version of the Chrono, the dial is a bit different, more aviation/pilot styled but with the same classic clarity of designed and superb quartz chrono movement.
I did notice the second hand stopped when you pulled out the crown to its outside position! Adjusting the minute hand with the second hand stopped might make setting accurate time easier. With the first crown stop just settling the hour hand, keeping the rest of the mechanism on task could save a bit of time... thanks for the review!
I have the white dial variant of this watch and absolutely love it. The white dial is gorgeous, very well done for an inexpensive watch. Highly recommend it.
I bought the green dial version of this a couple years back for like $60 after watching this video and I thought by now I'd have gotten rid of it but I still wear it quite often! It's a grab-and-go watch and it really looks nicer than it has any right to!
Being in the process of moving to Naugatuck, CT, which borders on much larger Waterbury, I'm pleased to see Timex commemorating its birthplace and long-time home (they were there until the 1960s, when they moved to nearby Middlebury) by naming a line of watches for it. I'm likewise pleased that you found the watch lives up to their reputation for sensible and affordable timepieces.
You do the best reviews - thorough and entertaining. I will be following your link and buying one of these to add to my little Timex collection. Im wearing the 1970s Timex pepsi 25 metres diver and it keeps great time. (*Glances lovingly at old friend on wrist*)
Never really got the love for Timex. Give me a Casio or even a Vostok anyday. But each to their own. There are never wrong opinions, just differing ones
Thanks for the video. I had two Timex watches with this quartz module and I can attest that they kept ticking for 15 and 19 years. One I sold and the other was involved in a DIY accident, but they are remarkable for affordable watches. Best regards Jody!
The quick set hour hand is a really nice feature. I have a Certina Action GMT that has it and I find it very useful. I'm pretty sure that on that Timex the quick set hour hand is more useful than the chronograph.
I’ve had Timex Ironman watches for about 30 years and highly recommend them, although I do have several comparable Casios, which I now wear more often. I have two Timex Intelligent Quartz watches, a GMT and a Flyback Chronograph. My latest Timex purchases are two MK 1 Steel watches. A three hand and a chronograph that uses the same movement as the review watch. The three hand is my loudest watch, but it is only annoying if I try wearing it to bed. The Chronograph’s small second hand is much quieter. I really like having the chronograph minute sub-dial being 30 minutes versus a harder to read 60 minute. The chronograph minute hand is a jumping hand, which I prefer over a sweeping hand.
I have 3 Timex. An original Expedition on a leather strap. It's got to be 30 years old. I bought two this year, a weekender which was very inexpensive and a Mod44 which both came from Amazon and I was buying on a spree. I want a Waterbury since that's the town in Connecticut where my Mother was born. I want an automatic and don't mind spending a little more
Love this Jody!!! Just wish it was a little smaller:( . I’ve just bought an Ironman Triathlon 90’s style!!! And the light is awesome!!! The Timex Classic digital is awesome to! The day indiglo is sweet!!!
Dude, you have no idea. Prior to Indiglo if you bought a cheap digital watch all you got was a tiny led in the top left corner. You could kinda read the hour but anything else was a crap shoot. I still have the head from my Triathlon, the strap broke off ages ago. It's a bit of a biological weapon at the moment, need to clean it before I swap the battery.
So It's actually a collaboration special edition this one Jody. They've teamed up with Redwing Boots to make these Straps. A really nice idea actually. If you didn't know then you got a lucky and picked a good one. I'd be very interested to see you review a Mk1 or any of their archive watches (which are always sold out). Some of these are very nice I think.
I love Timex. I just picked up the Timex x Todd Snyder Waterbury Chrono and it’s already my go-to. There are also a ton of vintage options on eBay for under a $100!
Hi Jodi. Very good review as always. Thank you! I't funny you released this today. I watched a review from a while ago from the Time Teller with the Timex Expedition Chronograph. After watching and seeing the price point I had to go check it out. Well along with picking one up for my son and myself, one of their field chronographs caught my eye. The TW2T10700, a 40mm with arabic numbers and the same movement cased in an aluminum retro field watch style case on a NATO strap. On Amazon for $39 USD I couldn't resist. I must admit I've overlooked Timex for a LONG! while now. Looks like they've upped their game and I haven't been paying the least bit of attention. Timex was my first watch as a 6yr old and had several over the years but just kind of piled them up with the cheap digital watch group, not that there's not a place for that but Casio had my attention as I felt them better value for money compared to the two. Watching your's and Jory's reviews made me make the purchase and we'll see what we get. Thanks again for your videos reviewing these watches and your attention to detail whether it's $10 Timex or a $10K Rolex. It's a pleasure watching your videos.
Just got a Timex Weekender Chrono. Same size, almost same looking dial, and same price ($58 on Amazon). But that strap you got on the Waterbury, that's much nicer! I like the extra numbers and ticks on the Weekender, but if that doesn't matter to you, I'd go for this one for the strap (the chrono buttons are a little nicer on the Waterbury too in my opinion). I'm just starting to learn about watches, and have watched a number of your vids recently. I got the Timex because I figured I would get a cheap one that is 40mm mostly to see if I liked the size before getting something nicer.
Another thing about the Weekender Chrono is that it is made of brass with a plated finish. I believe the Waterbury is stainless steel. However, the plated finish can be removed from Weekender Chrono, and it makes an absolutely stunning watch. It develops a patina that makes it look like a watch costing hundreds if not thousands. A Timex with a brass case is easily my favorite everyday watch (I have the chrono model and the diving bezel model with 100m WR). Google "Timex stripping a brass finish" to see some examples. I just sanded mine off starting with 220 grit and working down to 2000 grit. Also google "brass boiled egg patina" on how to get the patina over night.
I love Timex - they've been around long enough that you know they're reliable and they do some really snazzy collaborations at a price point only they really can. Currently considering the Woodstock Peanuts watch!
Just got a timex mk1 quartz in the mail and it’s sitting on my wrist right now, I rather like it. If they could improve the materials and raise the cost not TOO much I think they’d be selling a lot more watches than they are now! They have a lot of great styles that are classic and timeless but many of them come across as really cheap and flimsy. If they can get into the Seiko 5 range without going over $120 US or so I think they’d be in great position to compete better. Great review
My Expedition chrono was one of the first watches I picked up when the collecting bug bit me. Not a darned thing wrong with one of these in your collection as far as I'm concerned. And unlike some TH-cam pundits I think there's nothing wrong with finding a watch like this appealing. Cheers mate!
Man, my Timex Weekender cuts through the silence like a fart in church...every second. But I still love it. I just have to pull the crown out to stop it every time I put it away
I own the even cheaper Timex Weekender chrono. With a plated brass case and a printed watch face lacking the Waterbury's recessed sub-dials, the Weekender is an even more plain vanilla, built-to-budget timepiece. I should also disclose that I am heavily biased against quartz movements and instead adore automatics. My favorites being my beloved Seiko Alpinist and the dressy SARB033. Having said all that, I think Timex is doing fantastic things with their budget chronos. The dials, albeit simple, are clean, well thought out and classically styled. And as much as I appreciate traditionally lumed watch faces and handsets, I must reluctantly concede that Timex's Indiglo is hands down the best watch illumination technology out there. The fact that it is unobtrusively built into the traditional watch crown is a brilliant design engineering decision. And while the flyback chrono reset function of mechanical chronographs is coveted by many, I sheepishly admit that I find the slow-mo visual drama of the Timex chrono reset far more satisfying. Finally, as battery sucking as the Indiglo watch illumination must be, my Timex Weekender Chrono far outlasts my William L. 1985 quartz chronograph, which has required two battery changes while the Timex is still chugging along on its original battery. Oh, and for what it's worth, I've found Timex's chrono movement to be nearly silent. I'm still aspiring for a mechanical chronograph, but I consider my Timex chrono to be a no-apologies addition to my watch collection.
I own 2 Timex Chronographs which I am very happy with. My previous experience with Timex was the same as yours was. The ticking drove me nuts! I know some people like that about some Timex watches but not me. But the Chronographs are surprisingly nice. I would absolutely buy another one and I have recommended them to my buddy that is also into watches.
Funny you mention that...the ticking drove me and my wife up the wall, so much so that I had to bury my old Chrono deep into my drawer and we could still hear the faint sound of ticking. I no longer have that watch and a piece of me misses that sound. Just pulled the trigger on the Timex x Redwing collab from eBay for $89 which was too good a deal to pass on.
Personally, I like the standard Timex Weekender Chronograph that's made of brass with a plated finish. Remove the finish and you have an absolutely stunning everyday watch. It patinas beautifully and looks every bit as good as a high-end bronze watch.
Dundee Boy. After 40 years of resenting Timex after they closed their Dundee factories I have softened. Bought my son a NASA which is really nice. This is another goodie. Design is their strength. I'm looking at the peanuts,Charlie Brown once I can persuade my darling wife that I NEED another watch.
Timex problem was the same as most manufacturing closures. Owners and staff both want something for nothing. Same with Dundee. World is full of cities with nothing to offer. Loads of problems and loads of nice people. Government doing nothing constructive to help.
Just to be clear, i just found out about di indiglo function on Timex Waterbury TODAY, like, it's crazy, i've been wearing this watch almost 2 years since i bought it from a friend, but he didn't tell me that it comes with such feature. So the battery died, and i change the battery, but suddenly when setting out the date and time, and i notice when i pushed the crown, the background color change a lil bit, i thought it was my eyes. But i was curious, and turn off the light, and BOOM. I'm like a small kid infront of a toy store, pure joy. LOL, this might be the best purchase i've ever had in a watch. Would like to know how long the battery last if we use the indiglo feature a lot tho... I'm so excited to show this feature to my GF tomorrow. LOL i just keep smiling right now hahahaha
I like the idea and I’m with you on the date window, not even framed, just a stamped hole and the off color underneath just makes it worse. Such a nice dial to screw up with such a little detail. I also don’t like the phrasing, “The Waterbury”, makes it sound like they made a watch as that company, they only made clocks. Later on they did that same thing and it didn’t catch on, so, same trick different era. They should have put the name “Waterbury” at the top and “by Timex” at the bottom. Or go full on retro “Waterbury” top, “by U.S.Time Corp.” on bottom of the dial and on the case back put “a subsidiary of the Timex Corporation”. That would have looked best, right after they fixed that dang date window. lol.
You had me at Timex. I got a Timex winding Marlin last month - very reduced price on their website. It is beautiful. My dad had one. I have been wondering if they are phasing out their non-specialty (Charlie Brown, Peanuts) Weekender model? Don't seem to see new ones as often as used to. Thanks Jody! You bring hours of fun and info and entertainment.
Curses I got this watch when it was close to it's release for $130 . Either way it's a nice sharp watch that I love to wear to work and get a lot of compliments on it. And ohhh that strap, Timex rocks it on their straps their partnership with the S. B Tanning is a great I'm a Timex watch collector and these S.B. Tanning straps can hold their own against a leather straps in much higher price ranges. For even $70 this watch is a no brainer.
Timex now is THE part of watchmaking history in any angle of view. Must have for every collector. And this one is good enough for any collection. Im not a timex fan, but my respect to this brand.
Nice t-shirt collection. I particularly like the F1-themed ones, but interesting he has that t-shirt from a relatively obscure public university on the central coast of California - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Not a fan of chronographs but the function on this to independently change the hour sorts out daylight saving adjustments as well as being able to adjust easily for holidays which makes this worth a punt. Hope its better than the Timex mechanical watches I have had in the past.
Having 2 Timex in my collection, I must say that indiglo is not draining batery that much. It lasts 2 or 3 years even. Might be that I rarelly use it. Before smartwatches started poping up, I used indiglo as a party trick, quite often. It was awesome to show of that my normal analog watch can glow better than digital Casios. We were young, broke guys from East Europe, and my Timex watch was a rock star. Now, regular people just look at it and say - meh, just go and buy cheap smartwatch, they glow better... Makes me feel sad.
Thank you friend. I love Timex ! For all the typical reasons. Have 2 of them in my collection (both in the different “explorer” versions). Thought about a Navi-harbor but, ...eh.
Great review, as always! Excellent watch at th 55-60 USD price point, and Indiglo is just super fun. At the full, $100+ price, though, I'd recommend the Citizen AT0200-05E, which has become my daily driver. No Indiglo, but the Eco-Drive movement is excellent, and it's a bit more cleanly finished than the Timex. Not to bag on them, though, they're great for the money and I own a few!
That said, prices on the Citizen have been really volatile lately, often quite overpriced. Keep an eye on it, and you can grab one for around 130 USD or so, and it's well worth it at that price!
Love the Timex. I have 10 vintage pieces. I pick them up used. To clean them all you do is take off the hands and dial and soak it in lighter fluid. Take it out and use watch oil. It either works or it doesn’t. Don’t do that with a quartz or you will destroy it. Has to be the easiest way to clean a watch in the world.
"I bought a Timex... and it was the single nosiest watch that I have ever encountered... so I put in the back of a sock drawer..." This is exactly my experience with Timex, and I appreciate you mentioning it at the very beginning of this video. I've looked at the Expedition (there seem to be two variants: the Field and the Scout) and the Weekender. All three are in the $50-60 range on Amazon, and all three have at least one review that mentions loud ticking. My quartz noise frame of reference are a Wenger 7930X field watch and a Casio MDV-106 dive watch. I can hear both if I hold them up to my ear, but I can't hear either about 18 inches in front of my face unless it has been very quiet for hours. I can hear the Timex from across the room... ...I wonder if you might consider employing a means of measuring the noise level in a quantitative manner for reviews of certain watches. I know that cheap decibel meters can cost as little as $20, but I don't know how well they would work for that purpose. I guess I also don't know if noise is a rare enough issue that it wouldn't be worth it, or if it's primarily an issue only with quartz watches, and even then if only among cheaper quartz watches (I have a few watches but don't really have access or exposure to make a lot of comparisons). I own two mechanical watches, and they're both pretty quiet, but they're so different from one another that comparing them would be like comparing a bicycle to a BMW. Sometimes I do wonder if noise level varies much between mechanical watches with the same movements, between mechanical watches with different movements, and whether the noise level has more to do with the movement or with the case, hands, or other aesthetic components.
I bought the Swatch twice again, the TICKING is the loudest I have heard, and I have owned/bought/sold around 100 watches from different brands, you can hear the ticking on the other side of a room in quiet environments, I have it inside a box to avoid listening to it at night.
You should take a look at the Timex Midget. It's a Homage to the Ingersoll Watch used during WWI. They're not available on the Timex website but I was able to purchase one on Amazon. It's now one of my favorite watches in my collection.
The quarts Timex's movements feel so cheap, loose and floppy when I set the time. The dials can look way to one-dimensional as-well. I do adore the "indiglo" function thought. I don't know how to feel about them exactly.
Got my Timex TW2R85300 a few days ago. Pretty cheap as it does not have the Indiglo or any lume but I find it to be classy enough to be a dress watch or a casual outfit upgrade.
The loud ticking is part of the Timex charm, I just love it! Think about it like a constant reminder that you're wearing a watch, which is a notable part of your personality XD
Even at $100, it would be better than a Daniel Wellington for$200, I think. I have a 41mm Metropolitan which I quite like and bought for only $43 on Amazon
Ha yeah that date wheel window is a shocker but worse for me is the ‘The Waterbury’ text right through the running seconds. Still for the cash it’s worth buying for the strap alone! 👍
I'm with you Jody on being put off from Timex watches due to the ridiculous loud ticking. But this one does look really nice. I'm assuming its pretty quiet too?
They're still making it here, that's down south from Manila...I used to have the MacGyver military green watch during the 80's. Thanks for this review...oh and that piece is being sold here(Manila) around $75 tax included...
I think that Timex was a Dundonian sympton of a global phenomenon. Shifting of production to the far East. You can't blame the companies themselves but you can hold the Governments( Labour, New Labour and Tory) of being responsible for industrial decline and neglect of working class traditional employment and industry. It's really sad. Take British Rail, British Steel, National Coal Board, shipbuilding on the Clyde etc...as symbols of cultural decline, with the likes of Ravenscraig and Timex being local examples. It's also been driven in UK by improving health, safety and welfare in the west since 1974 and our drive to "decarbonise" and successive governments devaluing trades and apprenticeships. "Decarbonisation" is a farce anyway anf moving the problem elsewhere and then claiming were a "clean" economy. That rant all said the Timex stuff in Dundee was shocking when you look back. Dundee must have been bustling back in the day and a manufacturing hotspot.
I’ve had many Timex watches, and have stopped buying them direct from Timex. I now only buy them from retailers with liberal return policies. Timex direct wouldn’t replace an Expedition watch that arrived with a problem (date didn’t work), they said I had to use the warranty repair process which required me to pay shipping back to them.
I would genuinely buy and enjoy a Timex if it simply had a ETA 2824-2 (or equivalent clone, or even an NH35!) and hands that were long enough. It doesn’t even have to have a pair of straps. Oh, I’d like sapphire too, and at least 50m of WR :) BTW, that Milano looked pretty good!
Some other Waterbury also have straps made by S.B foot tanning and co....the redwing boot tannery.... Waterbury is really a good deal for the price..... somtime you even get discount where i live....
I can't seem to stop getting Timex watches. They do vintage styling very well imo. Affordable, value for money, more often than not.

Nice story - thanks for sharing.

Very nostalgic brand, I remember the commercials on the old black and white tv when I was just a kid.
Nice to know that these Timexes are made in my home country. Learn something everyday! Regards from the Philippine isles!

I also find audible ticking seconds soothing.
Well I mean, I think Casio offers more value than Timex tbh. But that's just my opinion tho, I myself have a Timex Mk1 I absolutely love it
Yeah count me in as another that doesn't mind the ticking sound on some of their models.
I was born and bred in Dundee. It was a real shame when the factory shut down. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane!
Masters of vintage style budget watches. Just ordered a Waterbury chrono, fantastic review!
Wow! This is our local release of Waterbury. It's an honor to had been reviewed in your channel sir.
Try Timexman.nl.
@@JeeGee114 Thanks so much. There is some beautiful ones still available 👍
Amazon has these on sale almost every other week. Usually as low as $52! Pretty good deal imo.
holy hell, i can save a full 3 bucks!
@@jukebox1794 you don’t need to be an ass...
I've got a Timex, bought for me Christmas like 2 years ago. We now use the chronographs for regularity rally's. Pretty much perfect
Was debating which cheap chrono to pick, was mostly looking at timex models, now I know which to get thanks Jody!!
All that in a good quality and reliable timepiece for a modest price of $55 amazing!
Like the jumping hour feature. Used to have that on a Rotary Swiss Commando a long time ago for a lot more money. Cheers, Jody!
I cant stop purchaseing timex watches either great video keep up the great work
I have the white dial variant of this watch and absolutely love it.
I love the Indiglo. No lume beats the illumination.
@@daithi1966, thanks for those details about stripping the finish. I'm going to give it a try.
Jody basically calling a rose gold Rolex GMT a ripoff and then heaping praise on a Timex Waterbury is why I love this channel
Thanks for mentioning that clever idea. I just might give it a try!
Dundee Boy. After 40 years of resenting Timex after they closed their Dundee factories I have softened. Bought my son a NASA which is really nice. This is another goodie. Design is their strength. I'm looking at the peanuts,Charlie Brown once I can persuade my darling wife that I NEED another watch.
I can't blame them for leaving Dundee. It's a shithole now, so Lord knows what it was like back then.
Timex problem was the same as most manufacturing closures. Owners and staff both want something for nothing. Same with Dundee. World is full of cities with nothing to offer. Loads of problems and loads of nice people. Government doing nothing constructive to help.
If you hold the iniglow for few seconds it glows at every actuation of all buttons, hold it again for few it disables glow at all actuations.
That would have looked best, right after they fixed that dang date window. lol.
Agreed with the date window and The Waterbury. The alignment wasn't the greatest either which really cheapened it.
The timex indiglo feature is pretty epic.
Great video as always, but the highlight was how proud of yourself you were when you dropped the "keeps on ticking" line lol
That Timex Milano XL looks really good! Excited for that video to come out :)
I love that Jodi wears hella US sports based t-shirts (NBA, college, etc)...
I'm glad to see Timex getting back into the game
I think mkI mechanical in 36mm will be a hit, so very close to my first ever watch - a pin and plate field Timex made is Scotland.
Hello from San Luis Obispo! Cool to see a local shirt all the way across the pacific!
Wow, that Milano is gorgeous!
A larger, more readable, date window would be a welcome addition.
Nice watch, but it's Timex, a quick Google search confirmed that I won't be having any luck with buying those for a reasonable price in Europe.
I second that mate... Here in Europe, we are left with mediocre leaders and only the timex.eu store!
thats sadly true.. The Timex Section on Amazon is realy thin and Zalando is heavely overpriced.
Hold fast brothers! Have faith and the hands of time, will roll to our favor! (hopefully, I mean...)
Have a look at ebay, I got mine shipped from the US for scraps. (in box with tags, unused of course)
@@keksimus__maximus thank you, man! Have a good one!
You should take a look at the Timex Midget. It's a Homage to the Ingersoll Watch used during WWI. They're not available on the Timex website but I was able to purchase one on Amazon. It's now one of my favorite watches in my collection.
I remember their Xmas jingle from when I was a kid (a LONG time ago)...."Ticka Ticka Timex Tra la la" :)
Great choice. Much preferred over a similar automatic.
Timex has continued to impress.
If you like this, have a look at the weekender chrono, very nice colors, cheap, looks great on a nato strap.
Even at $100, it would be better than a Daniel Wellington for$200, I think. I have a 41mm Metropolitan which I quite like and bought for only $43 on Amazon
very beautiful and cool watches
Cool how the dark dial lights up.
The Timex Expedition design is more refined now, I bought one late last year and it is very quiet.
Damn, son! You are PROLIFIC this week!!!
Someone from Dundee here, while I see the attraction I don’t think I’ll ever forgive Timex for that they did to my city. Nice watch tho...
I think Timex have moved on from the factory that replaced the ones in Dundee. I'm, slowly, starting to forgive. I'd rather hate Margaret Thatcher.
@@popdufc4139 unlike Thatcher, Timex isn't dead
Dundee must have been bustling back in the day and a manufacturing hotspot.
the second hand lines up!!! nice!!!
Big up yourself my bredda. Noone come close to you in watch reviews the most ever one are two everyday it seems like u got to go send me a few...👍👍👍
I like it. Very refreshing. 👍
Nice one Jody, I'm having one of those!
Another great video brother!
