He might not be getting that much of attention with foster parents, like he use to get with those old couple. May be that's the reason he loves them more.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I didn't think of it at first like that. I thought maybe it was just because dogs are curious and like treats.
I thought the same thing, & they really cope well .
So I had a lovely tiny dog she had diabetes and was blind and quite old at this point, my neighbors got a Retriever and he used to jump through our hedge to say hi to my dog but he terrified her and I would have to grab him once he came out and just hold on to his collar to let my dog do her business in piece, she passed away and the dog kept coming in to see me every time I went out the back it was like he sensed how awful I was feeling and just was the best comapny. A week after I offered to walk him he passed away as well. Love em while you've got em.
Some dogs are just attracted to a certain demeanor. She may have reminded him of someone also.

We Fostered our golden when he was 12 he is now 16 and going strong and never leaving us! He also loves picking up his lead and stuffed toys! He brings us presents everytime we walk through the front door or when we come down stairs after a long time! PLEASE give sinior dogs a chance they are beautiful wise souls! We love our Sammy!

So nice tht people adopt senior dogs. They will live the rest of their lives happy, no matter how much more they will live. And as sad as it may sound, when the dog passes away, the famliy can adopt another one....

When my golden passed away at age 11, it was before computers. I keep her close to me with made-up passwords for various sites with some version of her name, with numbers and special symbols added. She is never out of my mind and is with me daily because of this. Every time I log on, she's there.

Sometimes, people give up pets because they do not see how unique they are. It is a joy when another person adopts them who deeply appreciates who the animal is. Thanks for loving him.

I have my senior right next to me in his bed. We adopt seniors who no one seems to want. Everyone seems to want a puppy or a dog who will have a long life with them. But, seniors are special; they seem to appreciate what you're doing for them in their last years. We're on our 6th! You can find a rescue for any breed online in your state!
Cheddar seems to live older people. The neighbors are older and so is the cleaning lady. He's soo sweet!
i miss my pal, he wouldnt hesitate to greet a stranger and asks for a belly rub. but suddenly he got sick and i couldnt save him, i wish i was better. he always waits for me outside the door and comes running when i get home from school and kisses me and asks for belly rubs. i miss you man, you were the pillar on my depression.

@@kelseybordeaux9206 Those are small breeds. Small breeds tend to live longer than large. However I have a Lab boy who is 12 and a 1/2 and going strong! He's purebred too.

@Panzer Blitz well in dog years it's pretty old so that basically makes him a senior dog.
Cheddar is an old soul. He obviously saw something kindred in these neighbors. Another match made in heaven.

Neighbours dog did the same. We offered to adopt. 2 years like this. Owners moved, worried about traffic at new home and we got the dog! Had her for 9 years. Sweet.

sometimes dogs don't need a "higher" reason, they just meet someone they love instantly. my dog is a bit "special" , he is a livestock guard dog and thats a kind of dog that doesn't bond easy to more than one person. He also had a very rough past which made it even more difficult to gain his trust. He comes to work with me now and is fine with all people at work but there are only 4 people apart from me that can move freely at my home (it doesn't matter if he knows them or not, if I don't stop him he won't let anyone walk freely apart from "the 4" ).Two of them are my elderly parents. Dogs seek out people, they feel, are absolutely true to themselves and the people around them because they can read, understand and predict those people and that makes them (rightfully) feel safe. Dogs like/love people that are true and real

This made me cry. My golden passed away last month, he was 13 so he had a good long life.
My sister has a nine month old labradoodle, and I see her every weekend. Every time I visit them the puppy goes insane with excitement. It’s almost as though I’ve developed a deeper bond with the puppy than her bond with her family.
I love how Cheddar is simultaneously sad he can't visit his best friend and delighted at the opportunity to continue walking

OMG, another more than precious story of s Goldie. If I would not be considered the “old dog lady” and had a billion in the bank I could easily 💗 and care for a herd of Goldies, 10 of them would not be a problem at all. Such sweet, kind, loving, easily spoiled, helpful, even-tempered, always smiling fluffs of fur. You know that somewhere under that coat, there is a heartbeat that can only spread love to everyone that they meet.

Good on those people for adopting a senior dog so he could be happy for the remainder of his life.

This is bitter sweet seeing this video. Just lost my Goldie last week. She was 15 and had a wonderful life. They are the best dogs, period. Great video and thanks for posting.
That was just great. My sister's golden is now 16 years old. Unheard of for retrievers to live to be that age. She's quite thin, has arthritis and has a very large growth on her ear the vet wouldn't touch due to her age. But she still gets up, eats, goes outside and follows my 82 year old mother around wherever she goes. Funny thing is Lacey (her name) was the youngest out of all the dogs we've had. And they have all passed, but our sweet girl is still with us. We love her and know she probably won't live out the year, but she has given us the best 16 years we could have asked for.
May I take this opportunity to thank the channel for existing simply because the videos put a smile on my face even when I have tears streaming down my cheeks 💖💕🇹🇿

I had a neighbor dog like that, Riley, a Boarder Collie mix.
He didn't like anyone in his owner's family and was very protective of her.
The moment we met, that all fell away, we became best buds.
He's gone now and I do miss him, he truly became a friend....friendlier than the owner.

For a senior dog, Cheddar is still very agile so I see him being around for a long time, longer than most senior dogs.
I absolutely love senior dogs. There was one dog in my building a ginger golden retriever and he would unbolt the door to his family’s apartment, ride the elevator down stairs to come hang with us in the office. He also was a blood donor for other dogs 🐕! His name was Jake.
