These guys are unique. They're in their 70s and still belting out brilliant tunes and in contact with the modern realistic world. Geniuses and two very likeable dudes. How many other groups have managed this great achievement? Err non I can think of...
You are right, they are unique !!!!.They are in their 70s, it does not matter to me.... There are so many musicians that are younger and whose music is just the copy of what was done (the Sparks' music for instance) in the 70ies and the 80ies.... And these today's' young musicians will probably not be as charming and imaginative at the same age of the Sparks' brothers. It is too bad that the camera blurs Russell's face since he is still extremely good-looking now even if his face and neck are wrinkled. You can't be 25 your whole life, and if it's to stay as talented and charming as Ron and Russell that's good.
You have to listen to the bad music some iconics stars are producing recently in their golden age (like some famous ex-Beatles). Very bad indeed. Sparks still shine on. That's real genius. Music with IQ.
Be fair, hardly any could as the 70s was generally full of nonsense with no staying power and dated shortcomings. Give their following generation a chance-as Duran are matching them quick, and Alphaville, A-ha & OMD are also doing it for the guys. But look at ABBA coming back after decades of simply being forever icons without issuing anything new!

Sparks seems to be making more music in the past two years than they have made in the past 20 years. It's like a new heyday for them, and that's fantastic.
Be fair, most prolific act in the world until that film that never got made slowed them up. But then once the noughties were here, they restarted anew with a massive fire exploding within. Few acts have managed 23 albums without going kaput! And STILL no sign of stopping. Yay!

Yep. The feature footage of them playing live at Magic Mountain in "Rollercoaster" in 1976, shows Ron to be only a slightly younger looking version of himself now, with all grumpy old man demeanor on full display. Biggest difference was he was rocking the Chaplin/Adolf stache'. Uncanny.

this song makes me sad ... that I missed it 2 years ago when it came out. But I am happy that I found it now! :) :) Wonderful big sound and as always, clever music and lyrics.
I remember buying Girl From Germany when it was re released as a single in England in 74 . I’ve been a fan ever since . I was blessed to see them at Newcastle City Hall back in the day .It’s fucking amazing to see these two geniuses producing gems like this today way more interesting than a lot of the crap that’s out there . ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Absolutely brilliant, my favourite track on the album, and a brilliant video. I've been a Sparks fan since This Town in 1974. 46 years later, they are still producing excellent and relevant music. They are one of my personal hall of fame bands, and I mean that literally. In my hallway I have a dozen or so albums framed, which represent the bands/artists that have meant most to me over my life. The albums that I frame might not necessarily be my favourite album of the band that I love, but are chosen because of their visual impact. Kimono is one of my favourite Sparks albums anyway, but the album cover is striking, so had to be the choice. I'm a huge fan of Bowie, and I have his Aladdin Sane album in my Hall of Fame, even though it's not in my top 5 Bowie albums. I just think it's the most striking cover.

The most underrated band in the USA. They go to Europe and sell out stadiums, then they return home to do session work and record jingles.
Does that not tell us something about Americans?
They're victims of a bible quote that often turns out to be true: "No one is a prophet in his own country"
