4K City Walk In The City of Salt and Sail Trapani, Sicily

Escape to the edge of the island of Sicily to where the famous salt flats are. Trapani is an ancient city that has the closest port in all of Italy to Africa. It is known as the city of "salt and sail" as it has been one of the largest producers of sea salt in its lagoons for over 2000 years. Founded by the Elymians, it is still an important fishing port and a gateway to the nearby Egadi Islands. It also produces Marsala wine, as it is in close proximity to the city of Marsala.
