This is the first time I’ve felt like I can actually attempt a wearable. I’ve only done blankets so far but this pattern seems simple enough for me to do it and feel confident it will come out. Thank you! It’s gorgeous 🧶
@@rachelsommerville4383 just started it this morning and so far it’s been smooth sailing! I signed up for MJ’s blog so I’m able to reference the pattern, if at anytime I feel like I could be off track 🌻
I just finished this pattern using Caron cotton cakes in lighthouse and it turned out beautifully!! Great pattern, easy to follow (I didn’t do colour changes as it’s a self striping yarn I used)
I love your designs so much! This year I plan to tackle my biggest fear, wearables. I have saved several of your tutorials in my attempt to learn. They scared me so bad, but I am now equally excited. Keep up all of your great work!
Absolutely loved this! It was super fun to make and extremely detailed and easy to follow being that it was my first piece of clothing I crocheted! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful pattern.
This cardi caught my eye when I saw it on IG. Really excited to try a top down cardigan. I love the color blocking. Lovely yarn. Great tutorial. Thanks MJ!
I love love love the way you explain everything, a lot of channels will over explain and some don’t give enough information! You are that perfect in between 👌. I Seriously want to make all the sweater patterns on your channel ❤️
Oh MJ; I love this sweater. I do believe this is the one I'll be making for me.... I usually make things for everyone else,,, lol this one is for me. I thank you for your wonderful video I do hope you are feeling better too.
I’m finishing up this cardigan now, working on the last pocket and OMGSH IT IS GORGEOUS!! the tutorial is amazing and I purchased the pattern just to reference as needed and it has been very helpful! My first wearable and turned out perfect! Thanks for being so informative with your tutorials! I couldn’t have done it without the video support!❤🥰
I love this pattern and your tutorial is easy to understand. I’m recovering from a second carpal tunnel surgery and I have to wait six weeks before I can do anything. So can’t wait to make this pattern! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work ❤
Wow this is awesome! I'm in the progress of completing my very first cardigan, made all the pieces and just have to sew it all together. I wish I would have seen this before lol but I absolutely look forward to trying this method next! So cool, I wouldn't have imagined being able to work up a cardigan in one piece like this, thanks so much 🥰
This is such a lovely cardigan! I have never made wearables before but this one caught my eye. Im currently making a granny square blanket for my baby but as soon as I’m done, this is next on my list!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work ❤
I've been looking to try to make my first cardigan and I think I'm finally going to attempt it with this pattern! Thank you so much as always for sharing your great designs! Time to break out of my comfort zone.
This is yet another great pattern, MJ! I can hardly wait to make it 😍 I really appreciate the time and care you take not only making size inclusive wearables but in explaining how to make adjustments as well. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💗
Hey MJ! This cardigan caught my eye as soon as I saw it. Beautiful design and perfect color block. I have to make it, definitely. Thanks and take care.
I just finished this and it turned out amazing!!! I love it! I did do a few changes. I had to lengthen the sleeves by a few rows. I also opted to do a ribbed, join as you collar instead of the hood. It turned out perfect!! Thank you for the pattern and tutorial 😉
Everything you make it so beautiful you should have you should have your own boutique I'm going to try this since it's a one piece I don't like sewing things together but I'm going to try this one thank you so much you're awesome
Hello I was wondering how do I do this sweater with a medium 4 100% polyester 8.5oz/240g Caron yarn inspiration cloud cake with a smaller needle to have tighter stitching and add some stitches to make it wider around the chest
Hi!! Thank you for your great tutorial! I want to make a bathrobe in this cardigan’s style but ofc thicker and different yarn Do you have any advice what kind of things I need to adjust from this tutorial?
Hello :) So I would love to make this. I’ve never attempted a cardigan or anything clothing related. I was wondering if this pattern would work with a bulky 5 yarn?
Hi! I’m reading through the pattern and am currently working on the sleeves. Do the sizes that don’t go to row 40 before the final row go up to row 38?
I love your videos and I can't wait to make this cardigan. We don't have worsted weight yarn in south africa. We don't have anything between DK and Chanky yarn. Can this cardigan be made with DK yarn.
I had a hard time at first but when I wrote down my stitches for each row I got it. When I got to the arms my son said it was tight. And he’s small. So I want to add more rows without making the front bigger. 😢
I am assuming when crocheting the hood, we crochet through both loops and not in back loops only? I would appreciate a response to my question, please, and thank you
Can you do a tutorial on a long *sleeveless* cardigan for the spring/summer? I absolutely love long winter cardigans but I want to wear them in the summer too, just without sleeves. But no one sells them or makes them. I’ve only (rarely) seen super short summer cardigans and even then most have sleeves. I figure the only way to own one is to make one.
My Lakeside cardigan can be done without sleeves. It would basically be like a vest. There are customization tips in the pattern:) The pattern includes a cropped version of the cardigan and a long version of the cardigan. tidd.ly/3FYESpe
Do you have to use the suggested yarns? I have crocheted once without using the suggested yarn and it didn’t come out the way I wanted. It’s hard to find the right color and brand from the suggested yarn list. I’m scared now. Please help!!!
I would love to make this cardi but not sure what yarn to use in the uk. I can’t find the yarn you’re using in the uk. What substitute would you suggest?
Hi MJ, I don't usually have problems following your patterns, however on this one I'm making the small and am on row 15, which I don't understand after I do the hdc's on front until I come to ch-1 sp, chain 4 then "skip the sleeve, until I get to the next ch-1 sp". I'm sorry I am totally stuck on those instructions. DO I HDC to the next ch-1sp or do I slip stitch. Thank you for your time.
MJ I am currently working on this cardigan and I am loving it the simplicity of it I love cardigans. This is the year for me to make all of your sweaters I’m in love with my question is I do not want to make the hood which cardigan of yours or sweater should I copy the collar on that will fit well with this sweater? ❤
Yes, you can do this cardigan without the hood, it is optional. I do not have another pattern that the collar would work for this, you would have to make something up.
I am confused. You got all the way down to the bottom to do the ribbing then it changed. Totally lost me from there. I love the colours in this though x
What if u choose the size the person is say she’s or he’s a 4x and the body fits the person but the arms don’t width wise? My cousin has the body of 4x but the arms don’t match her person they are skinny than the end results of measurement stated on pdf: What can I do to change it?
Thanks to you I'm crocheting my first cardigan! Can you please tell me the open measurement of a sleeve - before starting the body part? My sleeves at 18 rows look a bit small... meaning it doesn't reach my underarm yet.
That’s great! I’m sorry I do not give measurements. You have to purchase the PDF pattern to get the schematic with all the measurements. These garments take a lot of work to design and write, I do not give everything away for free. tidd.ly/3itwsgB
