Crimson Jack is Long John Obi-Han Sparrow. Not exactly re-inventing the wheel, but a fun character that's PERFECT for a show like this. I'm here for it.
I mean, he has become somewhat of a connecting personality between these Filoni Post-Episode VI projects. Yes, I too thought it'd be him and they obviously were stiring this notion, only to distract from it.
Shouldn't it be a nickel? No pennies in Canada anymore. ;) I love Carson, but he can't be everywhere. Apart from Vane, I think the showrunners are trying to be as vague as possible about the precise timeline and location in the galaxy. If there's a second season, then they'll be more comfortable about specifics as the kids age up.
The fact that the kids have no idea about any war is another point of deeper intrigue of the mystery of At Attin. Also i firmly believe the supervisor is long gone and the droids are on autopilot for the most part
In the first episode Wendle said he had a week of reviews with The Supervisor. Could be a Wizard of Oz situation, but there is definitely someone or something there
"Astrogration" sounds like a cross between "Astronomy" and "Migration". Theory: If At Attin has been "missing" for centuries (or perhaps millennia), then no one would know EXACTLY where it's at. Celestial bodies are constantly in motion- rotation of the galaxy, stellar drift, and all that. Well-known systems would have their location updated on-the-reg (probably daily), but a "lost" planet like At Attin? You'd have to figure out its last known location, then use some kind of stellar migration calculations to even have a CLUE where it's at now. Maybe Astrogration is the science of finding lost star systems? edit: Sort of like how we found Neptune IRL using mathematics alone, not because anyone actually saw it
@colton-sg6hx Yes but the "R" comes from "migRation". It's all of them really. 1.Astronomy: Where WAS it? 2.Migration: Where the heck is it NOW? 3.Navigation: How do we get there?
I love how Jod/Silvo always includes truth in his con. He let's them believe he's a Jedi, he's always spinning in trueisms with his responses, but he's not outright lying. I think they're making it obvious he's Force-sensitive but not at all a Jedi. But Jedi or not, I think he survived the purge and he's super leary of droids. This episode was another good one. I'm glad they're giving more to KB, i really want more from her. And I like how they're leaning into the pirate nonsense. SM-33's absurd and threatening second "...Aye." He's so great. The overall feeling, the music, the silhouette shot in front of the planet, the adventure of the all, it's so great.
Skeleton Crew is delightful and completely engaging. The kids' adventure is reminiscent of Goonies, Explorers, and ET, with a little Space Camp thrown in. It captures the way we felt as kids watching Star Wars in 1977, exceept these kids are living it. I am most intrigued by the deeper mystery of At Attin from both sides of the barrier.
@robertmurrhee6016 I can't speak for Artoo, but Chop absolutely has a non-droid body count. He was directly responsible for destroying an Interdictor and a couple cruisers.
Thanks to Kyle, Bendu and Nerd Chronic! ✨💀✨ On the word alone, I figured astrogation was a space-y version of navigation. I then looked it up; that was correct. Here are the details from Wookieepedia for anyone interested: Astrogation was the science of safely and reliably traversing space in a starship. Throughout galactic history, cartographers and scouts traveled between star systems in search of more reliable and safer hyperspace routes free of dangerous obstacles, advancing the science of astrogation. Traveling through hyperspace required a navigation computer to make precise calculations in order to follow these lanes and avoid crashing into "mass shadows," the gravitational wells surrounding massive celestial bodies such as planets. Often, ships had to navigate by way of hyperspace buoys or stop at waypoints to calculate another hyperspace vector.
In the scene where Brutus says put a bounty on his head, in the background one of the ship docked out in space is the Pirate Corsair from Mandalorian season 2
The title is a direct homage to the luggage scene in Joe Vs. the Volcano..."very exciting...as a luggage problem." Find the scene on TH-cam and see if you agree.
The "great work" is an alchemy reference, which is the English translation of the Latin word "magnum opus." It was a reference to creating the philosopher's stone that could change lead into gold. I have a feeling the gold coins we've seen are counterfeits being made on At Attin, which would explain the legends about it being a sort of space El Dorado.
There was a ship at the pirate moon. Some say looks like a razor crest. But if you look carefully, it looks like space ball. 1 1st baseballs to movie. If that was the case, that'd be awesome.
This is truly what SW needs, a fun, well written and great acted show, with lots of awesome creative visuals, and characters and not to mention great music, for both kids and adults, love it!. And for those who say this doesnt feel like a SW show, how should a SW show feel I ask? This is made with lots of heart, and in the spirit of what George Lucas would want for his universe. SW is full of worlds and stories, it doesnt all need to be centered around everything we already know and is familiar with as part of the SW universe, when the well Lucas created goes infinitely deeper.
Why has nobody discovered the owl is an Kamas from Legends. They are one of the few core world aliens and their home was the home of all the great universities in the galaxy and the species considered one of the most widely liked alien species in the galaxy.
Good Reaction! The Mural looks like the four founding races of this planet... def has Harry Potter vibes. 100% Feel there's something insidious going on under the surface on this world. Finally Owl def gave me "Mr. Rogers" land of make believe vibes
Onyx Cinder. What a great name for a ship. The theremin was a nice touch. Feel he was inspired by the Loki series. They used a theremin in the same way and more frequent. Love the retro future sound designs redux vs trying to be slick new sounds.
An observation, from an economic standpoint: The two key factors that affect value are supply & demand. So imagine you had a world that was your galaxy’s commerce center, and was where the vast majority of your reserve currency were minted & stored. Now, imagine that world was suddenly cut off from the rest of civilization. This would have two very different effects: it would drastically increase the value of currency across the galaxy, while simultaneously drastically *reducing it* on that world. So when Wim’s dad gave him those credit ingots for his lunch money, it was probably pocket change to them, but anywhere else in the galaxy Wim’s lunch money for a week is a king’s ransom. This is because credits are in ridiculous overabundance on At Attin, to the point where their entire government workforce is now constructed around literally just counting and re-counting the money and tracking how it circulates. The world doesn’t appear to have any real natural resources other than the forests, which don’t seem to be particularly exploited at the moment. And the planet has been doing this for so long, with no contact with the outside, that no one knows what that money is actually worth anymore. And if the Supervisor is a droid or computer system, as many speculate, it could be stuck in a loop, following its two final prime directives from the Republic: manage the money and restrict access to the planet. But there’s a big problem looming here: if this is the case, were the planet to re-enter the galactic stage, it could potentially completely destabilize the New Republic economy by devaluing the currency to near-worthlessness.
I predict the next events The kids arrive home Crimson jake messes up and now at atton is no longer hidden we get scenes that are kinda like in episode 8 but now the people of at atton escape pirates The kids get separated and are back with jake and at atton is lost to the pirates

I gave myself a bit of a laugh watching this episode by thinking "Crimson Jack is what Ezra would have become if he'd stayed with Hondo."
100 accurate. And that would be hilarious.
Crimson Jack is Long John Obi-Han Sparrow.

Totally!
Laughed so damn hard when SM33 came back for that 2nd "aye" 😂. Absolutely loving this! ❤
Yeah, that was amazing comedic timing. I lost it!
That Bot is so weird and definitely knows more about At Attin than he lets on
My favorite character. Bring on the Funko Pop and take my money.
@@andedomabsolutely, he just “can’t say” lmao
Really wouldn't be surprised if that was added by Nick Frost.
If I was given a penny every time someone assumes that Carson Teva comes out of the cockpit of that X-Wing in this episode. 🤣
Right? It's like everybody, there are other X-Wing pilots in the Galaxy.

Absolutely!!

I honestly love the character of Kh’ymm (if I’m saying that right 😂) her and the observatory very much remind me of Aughra from the Dark Crystal!
I totally thought the same!
She reminds me of Won Shi Tong from Avatar.
That comment by Fern about the underground in the first ep is becoming more ominous...
Wim had the face we would all have if we were asked to man a turret on a star ship 😂
Hello Alfred Molina! His voice is such a welcome sound, especially in a Star Wars show. So gifted.
The sliding hallway shot is from the Breakfast Club!
Well, Risky Business did it 2 years earlier.
I've been really impressed with the practical effects. The robots and aliens... wow.
I’m loving the whimsical feel. Not everything has to be crazy serious.
I think why Crimson Jack / Silvio doesn't trust Droids is because he probably got the information about a great Heist. Which led to his mutiny.
Hondo's ship was in the shipyard. Below their taxi pod right before she says, "That was too easy".
The way they zoomed in on Wyn's Father after mentioning the supervisor makes me wonder if it's not him.
Oooh interesting thought
What do you mean R2-D2 "if" he chose violence. He's probably got a higher body count than any droid besides Chopper.
Artoo has zero non-droid kills, far as I know, & so does Chopper.
