Kevin - you have 1/4 of the facts and are missing some of the MOST IMPORTANT ones. You needs to do a little more research and understand why the prices are so low. WE CANNOT MAKE MONEY on our homes. We cannot sell on the open market. And don't forget winter time on the island when the boat can't make it through the ice. And SO MUCH MORE! The rules we are controlled by - you sort of forgot to mention those - oh! Perhaps you are unaware of them!
Its a shame when reporting is done in such a hap hazard, inaccurate way. This is what causes so many problems with so much news reporting today - its inaccurate and misleading. There are people that would love to sell their island homes but can't as how can buy a home to live in in the city?
Or how about its a shame there was a stop put to building more homes on the island. That could have been a really good solution. Islanders didn't stop that, the government did.
When you do a story like this, it would be really good to have someone from the island come and talk about it knowledgeably.
This issue has a very long, history - a lot of which is ill-informed.

You made some very valid points. I'm curious as to how life is like living on the islands. How do you get your groceries in the winter and is there electricity?

@@ariesaraya1822 And they were bulldozed because their leases had expired. And the government wanted to take the land and give it to the public.

The most important thing I learn from this video was Hydro price will increase in 4 year, and that was found through leaked documents...Considering the provincial government is advertising the price will go lower now, that's a big deal...It makes sense for the price to go higher, I knew it was temporary...

Agree with Kevin, open it up, can you imagine how much gas and traffic we will be saving by opening up these places to people, people commute for hours just to get to downtown.

there is and has been a condo tower being build on every corner, every month forever......why would you need to open it up to save gas and commuting?, just buy a condo downtown and leave that diamond in the rough alone. The best part is that its like getting the golden ticket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The politically connected old hippies would never allow that.
