Wanna Be Myself is a CF song that advertises sports wears for ANDAR. This is why you see Solar & others wear those exercise outfits and doing some stretching postures. Like Gleam and Woo Hoo, Mamamoo just know how to give us a great CF song. Then again, they do that to all their songs tbh.
The strings (which actually sounded real!) really remind me of late 70's disco, think chic and gloria gaynor. I love it, and it feels like a vibe that was successfully carried through the whole song.
they even make a CF somg sound like a comeback damn edit: i was also drawn back by the sudden violin and bass part! just like what aaron said, everythings just tasetful,, the bass riff sounded like its from an rnb song (like dejavu - nuest and face -woosung) and it makes me love the song even more
I also love the super satisfying bass drop ( the way it's softer than what you expect is so cool ) and the VIOLIN JAHAHJS which sounds real to me ! And it also seems like retro (?) Styles are becoming a trend in kpop , that's kind of cool ?! I never liked the genre that much but this is such an ear candy I love it ! Thanks for video ! Also unrelated but I just wanted to express my thoughts as a moomoo lol . rbw just held a session for 30 moos to choose their comeback title track , and from what it sounded like from their descriptions , there was a track with changing beats and a jazzy vibe that didn't get voted on and I'm kind of sad about it :( I miss jazz mamamoo so much , and changing meters ?? That's just so cool aghhh.... but I'll trust moos anyways i hope the track is good !

And it's nice to see an OT4 song this year. :) I think we are moving to a more singing Byul direction, maybe that's why there is no breakdown like was in Woo Hoo for example.

Odd that you didn't mention the most prominent stylistic choice in the song - the disco chorus. Perhaps you kids haven't listened to much 70's disco. Just teasing but if you're not familiar with it, Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive is a good reference point for the WBM chorus. I call Mamamoo my geritol but even if it's a MMM song with a great message disco gives me acid reflux.
The way the last section of your video has me staring at my phone blankly though .... I've known and loved MMM for 4 years but I just decided to actually stan them and the thought of that thing scares the crap out of me ....
Nice to see you both. This song has no hook because it is a hook. My first impression was that this song and video showed a more mature side of Mamamoo. The girls look so confidant and relaxed and to me, so much more attractive (though I would never say that they were unattractive).
When I first listened to it I thought you guys wouldn't make a reaction to it because the rhythm is quite repetitive (yet addictive) at least to me it grows very quickly. More than delighted to see your reaction and also thanks for pointing out the change in fields of instrumentation that's so satisfying to the ear. Suave. New vocab learned 😆
The transition between their vocal here is especially smooth...maybe just me. Byul's melodic rap killed it again. Yes to that calm chorus drop. I love that bubbly sound effect (?) around 0:29 as well (if I'm not mistaken). If I'm being nitpicky, one thing I didn't like maybe only Wheein's pink dress. That low neck looks off on her. I can see Celeb Five in Mamamoo through this video, maybe we'll see in 20 years ahead 🤣
