This is really great! It's also funny to recognise that after years of analog noise and distortion we now have to artificially introduce them in perfect digital recordings to have a more familiar sound!
Just spent the whole day trying the new varimu and the new tape plugin... wow great results. I've used the varimu with extreme settings in a "crush" parallel drum channel, got a great crushed distorted parallel track with plenty of energy in it... and the tape plugin is just beautiful, I've used it in a vocal track, basically it instantly made the vocals sit better in the mix, taking out the mud and bringing some nice presence to it... Dude these plugins are GOLDEN! Thanksssssssss
Tubes do actually get brighter when you drive them harder, but it looks only a bit different. You'd have to make the overall bulb a bit darker and then have a bluish glow inside that gets brighter when driven harder. It's generally only seen in power tubes though. I don't think preamp tubes get high enough voltages. I liked the animation. Also love that you included the mid side feature, I really like using that.
Hi John, your work is absolutely impressive. Great respect to the quality of you plugin, quality in explanations of them. I learn a lot with you. Good continuation.
Hi John ... REALLY NICE ... one great update would be a mono button Like for "mono" tracks (Bass, Monosynths, ...) for the times you don't want to mess the stereo and keep it really mono. E.g. using one track on a tape machine. I know I could use the IO pins (which works great by the way) but it'd a lot nicer and quicker if there where a "mono out" button for instance. But anyway: THANKS A MILL !!!!! GREEEEEAAAAAT WORK !
Thhis is amazing john tank you!! Is there a chance you could make a new "pre-amp2 version? It sounds great and i havent found anything to replace it with but it has the same problem of sounding thin (no bass) when oversampled. great job and ill be downloading the updates !!
Hello John, thank you for sharing your brilliant work with us! I notice the same "problem" with the tape plugin as before, it lacks input knob in order to make the saturation or "recording" levels precisely. With how the plugin works at the moment it is needed to drive the output of the previous plugin in a chain very hard so the input to the tape plugin gets warm enough.
Hi John , great work.....ive never used a real fairchild, just plugins but curious if the real hardware allows for you to turn input and output tubes on and off like on yours or are they on all the time on the hardware.... couldn't find any other vids on the plugin ..... Thx in adv!!!!
Hi John, I'm Kleber from Brazil and I'm using a translator to send this message. I need to know if you have songs on spotify. I think it would be a way to help if all Tukan plugin users listen to your songs to generate money for you on spotify. Congratulations on your excellent job.
Awesome as always! Quick question, and I apologize if you mentioned this in a prior vid. But do your latest plugins support the new REAPER bypass fx detection feature? Thanks!
Unfortunately no new versions in my reaper repository. Why? I'm also having trouble with other plugins with 7 session tabs open. How can I contact you privately?
You need to "synchronize" reapack. If you had Series 2 plugins before, it will update them and install the new Series 2 plugins too. (See your reapack package browser for the version of Series 2, which should be 0.85) Maybe restart Reaper and/or re-scan plugins.
The problem is TH-cam is supplying it's own link, and reaper doesn't follow the redirect. Open the link in a browser, copy the browser link, which is after the redirect. That tripped me up a couple of times.
Tape machine works better with solo instruments, but with a full-spectrum "mastering" material, it gets overblown and weird clipping like digital artifacts really fast, even with everything turned to zero..
High level signals really crush the input drive. Turn it dow then and keep an eye on the VU-Meter to maybe adjust the input volume before this plugin. At reasonable levels (before limiters etc.) it should be fine for mixes too.
Did you mean unity? Zero fader does not mean your input signal or gain going to the plugin is not super hot.. use VU then bring your overall (master "prefader" gain) down to zero by using a trim plugin down to zero VU not zero fader if that's what you mean.. That way the plugin in the master will not be overloaded.
One of reapers best kept secrets. Just started to use these. Amazing.
..magnificent..when a Stereo Image??...
Delta solo is the just the greatest thing in the world and I could never live without it.
This is really great! It's also funny to recognise that after years of analog noise and distortion we now have to artificially introduce them in perfect digital recordings to have a more familiar sound!
Fantastic. You do amazing work. Thank you for all you do

If you remove the tubes from the hardware circuit, it stops working ;)

Hi John, Great Info as alaways. Just wondering how you like using QCon EX G2 control surface, I am looking for a small mixer to use in Reaper. Thanks

Thanks John. What theme is that you're using?
It is called Peace. Peace is great!
@@johnmatthews8435 Thank you. I've just installed it. It does look tidy and clean. I'm looking forward to playing with the new plugins.
