WOW - never thought I would have anyone talk about my cowbell playing on a review - I have very cherished memories of recording and touring with Bloodgood - glad I clicked on this - have a blessed day and thank you for posting this. In Christ, Mark Welling
Mark, I have to say, LOVED your playing through the years. I tried SO HARD, playing the cowbell and drums all together, and just couldn't do it justice. Remarkable musicianship. Thank you for the music!
Mark, I saw Bloodgood multiple times in concert. You guys were always great. I also got to talk to you guys as well. Your ministry, as a band, was quite obvious. Thank you!!
Killer!! Not sure if you toured with them when they played Minneapolis but it was a great show with White Cross....
🤘🤘🤘 The good old days
@@Tbone.357 - YES, I played with Bloodgood in 1986 thru 1988, played a couple of shows in Canada in Jan of 89, then a few shows in Russia in Dec/Jan 91-92, and then again from 2006-11. I remember playing shows w/Whitecross. Psalm 150:5, Mark.
r.i.p michael bloodgood. a staple band in my teen years, such a priviledge to see them in concert multiple times growing up in Seattle
Yes! You should definitely listen to the whole album. Time well spent and your ears will thank you for it.
Heard it during my college days. It's fast and fiery!🔥
Yes I saw them in Davenport Iowa in 86.
I love Vagrant People from t this album. This band had been a big part of my life since their first album. I had it on cassette and loved having such an amazing metal band singing for God. New age Illusion on Our of the Darkness is a Rockin song and one of my favorites after Vagrant People. Yes, I am a huge fan of Bloodglood. R.I.P Micheal so sad to hear of your passing my friend! Thank you for all the years of Rockin together.
One of my favorites from them too!
⚡Rockstars here, sorry I'm late to comment. ⚡Thank you very much for playing my request. I knew you'd like the drumming, is it your favorite Bloodgood song now?
😎👍Very Cool you Rock!
Bloodgood is such an awesome metal group! Great reaction!
Perfect song to suggest by this magnificent band. There’s so many albums that have one or two songs that keep it from being a perfect album. Detonation is not one of those; every song is killer and it flows so well.
It is a perfect album and in my top 10 best albums of all time by any band, Christian or secular. RIP, Michael Bloodgood thank you for all the great music. Sidenote: the singer Les Carlsen released a solo album this year that totally kicks butt.
Solid album front to back….The Messiah turns on the water works every time I hear it. The lead in, Crucify is brutal. Thanks Shane!
Dang I got I was going to take a shower and then I got stuck watching all your Christian metal reactions awesome stuff
This is one of my fave Bloodgood songs.
Haven't been around but putting up a Bloodgood track will certainly get my attention. When this had not been my favorite album, but over the years I find I listen to it most the last couple years. For me, best tracks on the album (apart from the "Crucify" + "The Messiah" set) is "Alone In Suicide" and "Heartbeat In the City"
One Bad Pig my fave track from them is their cover of "Man In Black". "You're A Pagan" and "Let's Be Frank" are good intros to the satirical, often tongue in cheek take on culture and Christian life.
Mastedon "band" is such a great project. Many great stuff there.
Hands down to Bloodgood, their discography is simply exceptional!
I just discovered them recently after recently digging into Stryper. I was listening to stuff that came out in the late 90s and missed all this classic Christian metal.
One of the best Christian metal albums out there, most particularly Detonation and, to a lesser extent, their first self-titled album. I definitely recommend both of them for tasty listening.
My very first heavy metal album! Christmas 1987. Parents had no idea what they were buying 😂. I’ve been a huge fan ever since.
I was going to go to Michael’s last show but I missed it. I few days later I heard of his passing.
More 80s Christian Metal. It’s about time. Keep up the good reviews, Shane. God bless and Metal on!
Ive seen them multiple times in concert; they never disappointed! They were always great people to talk to, as well.
love me some bloodgood!lead singer Les carlson has a brand new solo album out called hes coming .really good one .merry christmas shane D
Have seen Bloodgood 3 times in my life when I was 17 and then 52 I was at the very last concert this past year at BMI in Versailles,Ohio met all of them back when I was 17 the original lineup Love this album and the 1st and out of the Darkness I have Michael's autograph and Les's! I also got pictures with Les at Immortal Christian Music Festival. Les has a new album out called He's Coming it is great! I would like you Shane to listen to Believer -Shadow of Death Please!
Huge Bloodgood fan here! Drove a long distance to catch them in 2019. Met Michael, Les, Paul. Great guys!! Simply put, it was Bloodgood's third to last performance. Bloodgood is no more per Les and Michael's agreement to end things with the Bloodgood name when he passed. Les Carlsen is still going strong with Paul Jackson. This album is epic, and what a great song. So catchy.
Their debut record is great. Nice introduction to the band and was early actual "metal" band in the Christian world, not hard rock stuff like Rez Band or Petra. When Detonation came out, holy crap, this is the stuff! I still listen to Detonation to this day. I saw them on the Detonation Tour in 1987 along with Messiah Prophet here in Kansas City. Their stuff after this got a bit more...uhh, commercial??? It was good but those first two Bloodgood releases totally hold up and stand the test of time.
Bloodgood was Bloodygood!
Love Bloodhood. Look up Fear Not.
You really need to review “Crucify” by Bloodgood.
Could not agee more. Their best and one of their heaviest songs.
Yes, check out all of “Detonation” along with “Out of the Darkness”. You will like them both. Still waiting on reactions to something off of “Temptation Come My Way” by The Showdown, and from “Undeceived” by Extol!
Bloodgood is one of my favorites!! Music is awesome and the message they bring is even better!! Jesus is Lord!
Hello from London. I've been a huge fan of Blood good since he first album. I would say that Detonation is my favorite album.
Now if you were to do One Bad Pig (Punk Band) I know a temptation would be to do Man In Black. While it's a good song it just doesn't really represent what One Bad Pig really are as a band. Might I suggest Isaiah 6 from the first album Smash instead.
Love Bloodgood!
There is a riff in this song that sound very similar to the same riff in "In For the Kill" by Black Sabbath
First Listen #3 Christmas greetings to one and all checking in on 12/25/2022! ❤🎄🎅 This was decent for me....a bit of a Bon Scott feel to the vocal, I thought....Holy Horns for this one! 🤘
❤❤❤
One Bad Pig is awesome. They do a version of Johnny Cash's Man in Black with him performing guest vocals. That is from their 1991 I Scream Sunday album.
can you play and check out Christian Metal band Saint song is The Blade, I think your gonna love it! kinda sound like Judas Priest
Listen to the album by Rage of Angels and the song Hooked on a Good Thing
Hey Shane can you please do a first reaction of Magdalene Roses song Shark Spray
would be my pleasure hold tight, check back gonna check it out in your honor! I see she has a video.. gonna do it in your honor!
@@ShaneDiablo very cool
I still listen to some Bloodgood, but not all their songs are good, IMO. Detonation is a good album, and they have some pretty good songs on it, but some not so good. It's really a matter of opinion. I've enjoyed Bloodgood's music for many years now.
Also One Bad Pig is a 90's skater thrash band, and they like to mix humor in their music. They have a few mellow songs that are good; even one with Johnny Cash called "Man in Black".
