HE GAVE UP SOME MUCH MATERIALISTIC RICHES IN THE 50'S TO SING ONLY TO GOD AND TO THE SPIRIT. ELVIS WANTED TO DO THIS AND SO DID JOHNNY AND JERRY LEE. IT TAKES COURAGE AND CONVICTION AND NO COMPROMISE. YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU CHOOSE. THEY CHOSE UNWISELY. HE CHOSE WISELY. HIS MUSIC HAS GIVEN ME STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO CONTINUE TO READ AND STUDY THE SCRIPTURES. AS I GET OLDER, I NEED TO CALL ON GOD MORE AND MORE. WE CALL ON HIM.
My friend down there in there in Virginia said it best " I'm not the Man I ought to be .... but I THANK God ... I'm not the Man I use too be... Thank - you Pastor Hurt....

Me fascina escuchar a este hombre de Dios cantando. Te amamos mucho Jimmy ....
@Smingled Try the Living water which is Jesus.Just ask Him into your heart,48 years ago I did and though I was never what I hoped I could be He has never let me down. Most of my old drinking buddies are dead.
@GawdOfThunder I think a man who submit himself before God and the world by admitting his wrong doings and ask for forgiveness of God, his wife and his congregation, should be forgiven by those who are none of the above. Be blessed...
I guarantee if the lord doesn't make concessions there won't be very many in heaven. He won't have to build many mansions the way people are acting and the things they are doing.
@kuttenkijker It is obvious you are searching for something real to satisfy that longing of your heart. I'm not trying to defend Jimmy or me, but I will defend the eternal truth of the song he's singing. I'd suggest you listen to the words, maybe another singer even.My prayer is that you will be able to truly claim this song as your very own testimony.
