So proud of this man. His accomplishments, his down falls. The good and the bad he has always stayed humble and true to his beliefs. God bless him stay true Tim always.
It's an impressive school. It's a bit expensive ($50k) which is about twice as much as state schools or schools with a good endowment that work at keeping tuition down. (Grove City College cost a bit more than $25k/year as an example.)
@Scott Silverman -- Well, for k-12 home education is at least as good as public schools except for the sciences. Kids can learn chemistry & biology at home but it takes a lot of work by the parents and the kids. A high school diploma per se is worthless for anything other that joining the military. An occasional apprentice program might demand a diploma or GED. IF a kid wants addition instruction but doesn't need a degree a combination of self-instruction, home-instruction, and community college will do the job. But "The Professions" require real college. Kids can get into college without a diploma or a GED so long as they take the standard tests (SAT &c) and do well. Also, in many states the community college can replace the first 2 years of state college. Admission to community usually requires taking (& passing) an aptitude to ensure the kid is up to handling the material. I have known of kids as young as 11 entering a community college.
I have 3 grandkids and told my daughter I’ve got a college fund set up for them if they go to Hillsdale. I didn’t have enough money to go there myself, but God Willing, my grandkids can go to an excellent college.
This was so deeply profound. I wrote down a lot of what I learned. I felt like this was an exortation and encouragement far beyond the wonderful graduating class and staff and that it was also for the entire body of Christ as well and extended far beyond that. This was delivered from the heart to the spirit and soul and heart of a nation that is in desperate need of a rudder and for truth & wisdom & honesty & humility & heavenly guidance and protection. This was very transformative and widely shared.
I love his honesty and authenticity. Serving time turned me into a conservative...you get a close-up view of how charity helps and government redistribution hurts. The people who came in to volunteer their time and experience were the people who helped me get my life together, NOT food stamps or a monthly check I didn’t earn. Some of us need a bigger reality check to see and become who we are meant to be!
I love Tim Allen for his honesty, not sugar coating his life or playing the victim. Life is hard, ups and downs, but find your passion and you will excel. I have told my grandkids the same thing, everyone has to work, nothing in life is free, but if you find a job that you truly love you will succeed and make getting up to go to work enjoyable. Working for a living or working at living, it's your choice.
One of the most inspiring, motivating and honest speeches I have ever heard. No matter what your situation is today, Tim reminds us that we can achieve as long as we listen, give and get our egos out of the way. Thank you Tim. God bless.
In a world of disgrace, Hillsdale still holds up the beacon of truth. We are blessed that two of our daughters graduated from there and continue to reflect the strong values they learned not only to their families, but also to their communities.
All too often today commencement addresses are delivered with no message of hope or inspiration for the graduates. I have recently sat through or watched 3 in which the speaker waxes prolifically about themselves, their personal struggles and success...with no tie-in to how their experience could benefit those graduating. Tim Allen has masterfully tied his own life experience with lessons every graduate could apply to their personal life experience. I salute Hillsdale for inviting Tim Allen to be the commencement speaker. I was spellbound by his message. Continue to provide our youth with a positive, inquisitive and morally driven education so that our future generations can truly lead us out of this march away from constitutional freedom.
After a gig in pro sports and law enforcement I retired and was lucky to be a School Team Advisor for youth in Jr. High Schools here in Canada and have a 12 year second career...Roc's 3 R's were my foundation with young people...Respect for yourself, Respect for others and the most important R was taking responsibility for ALL your actions. Tim is right, find that mentor, that life coach that can guide you, that listens to you and you in turn listen to them...there is a difference in discipline and motivation....know the difference...and lastly...there are no big problems...at 65 I figured that out awhile ago...STAY safe
This was a very insightful, inspiring speech and I am a big fan of Mr Allen, owning several of his viedeos. If I had been consulted about the content I would have changed but one thing, the profanity, in particular using God's name in connection with same. Mr Allen gave some very good advice and I hope the graduates, as well as the viewers of this video, remember and heed said advice.

He’s so real. I really do love this guy. I think just about everyone watching this probably does too...... because he’s real. 👍🏻❤️
He did have setbacks but didn't give up even when he thought he was at the end of his rope. And then eventually when he started listening, he applied it; wisdom. Wisdom is becoming more rare these days! He is worth listening to because he had failures just like all of us do. He is also relatable because he didn't have it all. He didn't have money. He didn't even have a direction, but he did get there. He had to work very hard. That is inspirational.
Tim......a courageous and true patriot. I still have the picture of him, standing alone on Pennsylvania Avenue, waiting for President Trump and his family to pass by on Inauguration Day in my head. Congratulations for not bending to the woke phonies of Hollywood.
If more Americans like Tim Allen, then maybe, just maybe they would not have allowed their once great nation to be trashed and ridiculed as it is by dark forces
If laughter is medicine, Tim is a great healer! Great speech! 👏👏👏👏
This was one of, if not the best, commencement I have ever heard.
I wish I had heard of Hillsdale College back when I was young enough to go to college.

Watched this the day of the graduation 🎓. Loved it then love it now. He put his life out there and showed you can learn from mistakes in life.

Take it from me - a crusty old fart. There was a lifetime of wisdom packed into that speech. If all you noticed was the profanity, then you need to ask God's forgiveness for being a Pharisee and go watch it again. That is life-altering stuff. Tim did a fantastic job.
Lots of wisdom, I agree, but a little bittersweet because I think Tim may be missing the joy of the Lord.
I did go back and listen to it all. I do feel Tim is a sincere man, but with demons just like us all. I do pray for forgiveness every day and I know God is listening to them all. But we all have to come to Jesus with sincere repentance for it all plus asking for the courage to change and step away from those sins or it’s all for naught. Some would say you received an unearned doctorate. Your oral thesis here proves you have earned it. Possibly one of the hardest earned doctorates ever. If I would have had the money back when my children got out of college and knew then what a positive free speech college this was I would have sent my kids there. I expect with all of the woke crap and silencing of opinions at other colleges that Hillsdale will without a doubt be expanding and i hope their way of teaching takes off like never before.
So proud of this man. His accomplishments, his down falls. The good and the bad he has always stayed humble and true to his beliefs. God bless him stay true Tim always.
If I am ever blessed with children I hope they attend Hillsdale.
@Scott Silverman thank you
@@agnesbuhagiar6619 that's incredible!
Can I say how much I adore this man?! I always told my son, find your passion and do that to the best of your ability. What a blessed word Tim gave.

I know this is much about Tim Allen, and he was superb in all his imperfect humanity, but man, I really love Larry Arn.
Great guy. I have always enjoyed his works. I respect him greatly
Hillsdale had a much better commencement speaker than the US Airforce Academy did.
One of the most inspiring, motivating and honest speeches I have ever heard. No matter what your situation is today, Tim reminds us that we can achieve as long as we listen, give and get our egos out of the way. Thank you Tim. God bless.
Tim Allen is a gem! Inspirational speech from the heart.
In a world of disgrace, Hillsdale still holds up the beacon of truth. We are blessed that two of our daughters graduated from there and continue to reflect the strong values they learned not only to their families, but also to their communities.
I love how he keeps having to pull back from his comedy routine inclinations and get back to a speech. ♥️
Our military academies deserve a “do over.”
Congratulation, Graduates!
