    Taking The Forged Warrior Sword (s71.co/3sopSqv) for a spin. The sword was rusty, but I was not. Is it worth the low price? This is a thick heavy hunk of metal. When it arrived, it could not even cut plastic, after a rapid sharpening job (s71.co/3c01ypJ) it was able to cut easy targets. It arrived with rust spots, and may require rust remover (s71.co/3bGsoWI). The full tang, one-piece construction makes it very strong, this sword will not break. It is very deadly in the thrust. The placement of the bevel makes the grind broad like a hatchet, I recommend re-profiling to cut fibrous targets (mats, rope). This is a decent project sword for those who don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars. It is crude, but can be effective :]

    There is something to be said for a nice simple but durable construction, that is what really matters.

    Beautiful slices and stabs with that thing! Thanks for making this video. I've been curious about this blade and many other items on ye'olde BudK catalog but don't need to purchase every item I see. Looks good for what it is!

    Leather can cause rust. Maybe coat the metal with oil to help prevent rust when stored for longer periods.

    That looks like a fun project sword. I like the idea of making some micarta handles for it but it probably does not have any holes in the handle?

      Great idea, would look great with Micarta, probably have to drill some holes in it.

    Idk how bad the rust on that blade is, but you can also use baking soda and a damp cloth to remove rust.

    I just bought this sword on sale and it's a beast, I actually like it for 50 bucks shopping and all, mine had no rust, you can really see how thick it is haha, I think for self defense as poker isn't good as so heavy and slower but seems would be deadly if it gets a poke in, but slashing straight down on someone with all that weight seems what it's built for. I'd say don't buy it if not on sale but for 50 bucks it's great. It's like a big long ass knife! That feels heavy and u balanced.. but something tells me this blade was meant to last...have not tested yet as it came unsharpened..also, I have med/big hands could grab one hand tward top and have room for other hand but just the index pointer finger, so awkward to use 2 hand, but with that extra finger gripped...kinda powerful chunk of blade...just feels weird haha

      @chewysplace3542 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could wrap "extra index finger and thumb" under other one hand grip. For 2 hand swing....edit above

      @@WeAllJuggleKnives I was shocked how much solider/heaftier it looked than your vid. Even though you explained it quite well. I have a dog who likes to jump, and glad it wasn't sharpened, I'm not sure people realize how dangerous this thing is cause it's weirdly heavy. In future I'm not going to pull it out with dog out once I sharpen it even before as he almost braized it jumping. Maybe it's just me not as strong as I used to be, but feel practice with it before sharpening is a must for me, as it's my first sword/machette type purchase. I did try to cut some branches outside, was so dull it couldn't slice though a thin branch at full wack. I admit I'm inexperienced. I'm not even sure I'm going to sharpen right away cause it's a cool sword just to have. I wanted it for cutting branches and cool big thick sword factor, but now feel it looks to cool for that. Gonna buy a cheap machette now, a lot lighter. Gonna admit comparing you to me you swing it a lot better, so can tell you know your way around a sword makes me appreciate your vid more. I'm pretty big guy, and you put me to shame, respect for that, I'm not ashamed to admit you'd kill me in 3 sec in a sword fight, haha, never tried to swing sword before. So gotta practice.

      @@WeAllJuggleKnives and also, one last comment, parawrap color was slightly lighter, more brownish than yours, and can really see slight beautiful Damascus-like natural lines more when up close, that can't really see in your vid. Not sure if that's just camera issue or if we have same sword now, but same length and design, thickness. Plus mine had no rust..maybe a ver2 to this?

    You have used a sword with the same blade profile except longer with less force is why I ask.

    Evap-o-rust is awesome. Check it out, it's outstanding at removing rust & will not negatively react with most/nearly all other materials (i.e...rubbers, plastics, wood e.t.c...)
    In the case of a rusty old complex tool/part like a swiss army knife, that would be very difficult to "de-rust" you can submerge the tool/part for a day or two & it'll do 90%+ of the work.
    Can't reccomend the stuff enough, it's awesome & can be found in most hardware stores.

    They will rust easy if you don't oil them. They are tough as hell. I use mine to do Meyer's square type drills on a dead tree. Great workout and a fun sword for the price. Nice cutting.
