A great review! I enjoy all your reviews. I am glad you include entry-level pens which can get overlooked. I wasn't aware that Stabilo made fountain pens! It's good to hear that this one writes so well.
Thanks so much! I think it is super important to review pens at al price points, but especially entry level or budget pens, because regularly the people buying these are just starting out and are looking for information. I have really enjoyed both the budget friendly pens i have tried from Stabilo!
Thanks, Mike, for recommending the Grow. It's a great pen for the price, with a very impressive line. Quite something. I chose the medium (at Stabilo's suggestion) and wouldn't change a thing. Your review is spot on.
Good suggestion Mick! I managed to find one from Amazon UK for less than £12! It's very good value for money. I have a large collection of fountain pens, and this one is quite unique. I don't normally mind tripod grip section, but I found the grip of the Grower a little slippery though, probably because of the material used. I hope I will get used to it. Thanks for the recommendation!
I am glad it is make of wood and recycled materials. I have always liked pens that have incorporated wood in their design. I only wish it offered other nib widths. That it can do reverse writing is a plus. Does it come with a converter? Will it use international long cartridges? Great review Mick.
More plastic isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as it’s quality. I still have Lamys from 20 years ago and the Lego in my garage isn’t going anywhere. I am in minority in saying that I love the Lamy faceted grip. I am having a real Lamy revival at the moment. The L2K is hands down my GOAT.

I like it! I'd probably go for the beechwood with a blue accent. I have tried Stabilo pens and I like them for a low-worry carry.
5:28 Came here for the grip section size. Thanks!!

You wont hear me complaining about the L2K!
Hi Mick,
Great video.
Will this take a large cartidge or converter.
For example like a Waterman long?
Came across this pen on Amazon UAE and wanted to see if there was a review. Nice detailed review.
Does it take a converter?
Yes, there are converters that will fit this pen.
This one is prettier imo
The bioplastics used in this pen are not bio-degradable so it should last a long time.
