My fellow Virginian and Arabian horse lover!! Love him!! #waynenewtonismyhomeboy
This was 1982. He had such a great voice.
One of the all-time greats ,had a great voice
After all these years he still got it Wayne Newton can make my feet move to the beat and my heart beat faster
Wayne Newton is such a showman....
greenbeagle13 not too many people have their own orchestra. Wayne’s done a great job filling Bob Hope’s shoes also.
I never get tired of hearing this song HELLUVA I SONG HELLUVA Man!!
This song grabs me from the first few bars. Great performance and great band.
His performance is a blast!❤❤❤
Great performance. Wish Wayne did more rock and roll like this.
Wayne is a spectacular entertainer and I want to thank you for posting this video.
They don't call Wayne MR.ENTERTAINMENT for no reason!
Blessings always ❤❤
Wayne's the best i got this on vhs from 1982
Love it
Rockin' the spirit of Elvis for Jerry's kids!!!!!
Good years...looks and sounds good here!
Reason why Lucille Ball voted #1 comedienne in the world - in Wildcat she sang, danced, acted. Sold out audiences due to her presence. Read that after her performance she stay on to talk to fans and sign autographs for at least an hour.
Have seen almost all her shows, movies and performances and interviews - has a star presence that is over the top. ILL is still playing in countries all over 70 years after it opened in 1951.
Hey! just wanted to tell you that I appreciate and enjoy your channel. I personally have been watching these telethons since I was a young preteen. me and my elders enjoy telethons. I only wish there was a time when tap dancing was a great art. more tap dancing videos please!
Saw him in concert in Akron, Ohio July of 1983 ❤️
Just awesome! None like him still.
This man is the best entertainer ever! He is the only person I have paid to see in concert 7 times and such a great friend to Elvis!
Stellar entertainer.
Nadie supera al REY 👑
Elvis el mejor, the king FOREVER 👑👑 FOREVER
Great, great, great vocalist & stage performer... gives this Presley classic a good run...
And Elvis' was a good run to the original...by Chuck Berry who wrote it! :)
@@thomasandersen2938 Yes! That's what the "to the original" part of my (SCS) comment means...indicating his being the original recording of it🙄
Muito legal a versão dele
Espetacular! Lembro de ter ouvido A Lenda Elvis cantar esta música
He is so good
Love the mustache
always sang other people's hit songs.... but I loved him back in the early 80's. Sad you can hear his voice starting to go even in this video
Wayne Newton is really from Norfolk Virginia so am I lol
Is it as easy as he makes it look?
The super from "Friends" on guitar, ladies and gentlemen!
39 years ago wow!
Yep! Time sure goes by Fast, it seems like it was just a couple months ago; We're losing the Best entertainers Ever, but Wayne always gave 110% to his fans, Will Never be another like him!
At 1:54, he said the garden state. Representing New Jersey lol
Yeah baby "Go You Good Thing"
I still see a 15 year old kid that made his dream come true ... seriously I see the same kid w some wrinkles
This is Mr. New Vegas, wishing you lady-like luck tonight.
hello !!
Elvis Presley nailed this upbeat song nobody sung it like Elvis Presley.
Freddy Weller has the best version in my humble opinion, and I am a huge Elvis fan.
Hey
He’s a little bit Elvis, little bit Tom Jones. 🧐
GUY CAN COOK.......
Wayne always came off as such a cheeseball doing his lounge-lizard Elvis "tribute" songs.
I'm not the biggest fan of Newton either.
Only clicked on this cause I like the song
Also, say what you will, Newton is a great showman, and entertainer.
Plays multiple instruments
Presley certainly didn't play any
And don't say he played the piano or guitar. Noodling on them a bit is not "playing" them. He wasn't, by any stretch, known as a musician, who plays instruments
May not be my thing or yours, but we can respect the guy for what he does
If he was a 1 Trick Pony, he wouldn't have lasted all these years.
And, side note, this is a Chuck Berry song, not an Elvis song, though Elvis covered it
@@chuckfan1 I don't think you know what a rythym guitar player does...the King went to the top in the fifties playing rythym guitar..
@Warren Philpot I know EXACTLY what a rhythm guitar player does, plays rhythm as opposed to lead. Uhh yeah.
Presley went to went to the "top" because of who he was, his talent, in that time. The voice, the looks, the charisma etc... he "strummed" or whatever you want to call it.
I'm not dismissing it, but it's a long connect the dots to calling Elvis a "guitarist"
That's why he never really "played" it
Especially in later concerts, came out, around his neck, and picked it a bit whilst singing CC Rider.
Then off it came. One reason if he kept wearing it, he couldn't move around, "be" Elvis.
Yes, he could "play" the guitar, piano. But he wasn't what one would call a guitarist or pianist in the truest sense
Don't get all bent
Elvis is known as an Entertainer, a Singer.. an icon... not a guitarist or pianist.
There is a difference
@@chuckfan1 I respectfully differ, he was a rythym guitarist for several years..how many years, I'm not that into everything Elvis so I can't say but he did it sir. I think historians of an accurate ilk will tell you he had talent as a "rythym guitarist" imho
@Warren Philpot good gawd... ok
You're splitting the atom here
Call him that, sure, but thr whole point is, he wasn't KNOWN as that. Poll 1000 people, and ask them to pick 1/2 things they identify with Elvis... I guarantee not one person will say "oh, he was that guitar guy'... etc
Almost all will say Entertainer, or Singer or Icon, or King Of RnR etc...
Don't take it so personal, it's not minimizing E in any way.
Could he "play" the piano, yes. The guitar, yes
But he wasn't KNOWN for those....by ANY stretch.
You sound knowledgeable... would think you would acknowledge that..
Looks like Hollywood Fats on guitar
Freddy Weller has the best version of this song, I am a big Elvis fan, but he couldn't beat Freddy on this one. Wayne does a very good rendition.
Wayne Newton the cheesiest ham in the shopping cart.
@@barrygioportmorien1 I agree!! I've always liked Wayne. Never got to see him.
@@Melinda8162seen him over 50 times…always the best you’ll ever see, great guy too
He's always wanted to be an Elvis wannabe
I like Wayne newton but I have to say Elvis done the song more justice
Newton as usual, stealing one of The Undisputed King of Rock, Elvis's hit song!!
He did NOT steal anything!! He was a great friend to Elvis and when Elvis left Las Vegas he told Wayne that he was now Mr. Vegas..... and when he enters the stage for some of his concerts he uses the Elvis move, and he is the ONLY ONE who is allowed to do it!! So PLEASE stop bad mouthing Wayne Newton!!! He stole nothing from Elvis He was given everything! And trust me I've been an Elvis freak for over 50 years and still am!! While I see other people butcher Elvis songs Wayne Newton does not!
@@antmanfan357 You're So Right! Wayne has always given his fans 110%, just like his Friend Elvis did!
@@antmanfan357 wayne was great performer but he was not good freinds with elvis
It really was Freddy Weller's hit.and I'd call it the best version in my humble opinion.
Awful!!!!
OMG - Seeing Wayne in November in Vegas - can't wait - always, always one of my favorites - here I come Wayne.
