I got several knives from Global and I had em for around 15+ years and they are still amazingly sharp and I didn't sharpen them one single time. I am however looking for a new set to collect, but mostly for the look though. I can not put a single negative thing on the Globals.
Anyone ever heard of Tuo brand knives? Chinese made, Japanese inspired. Workhorse, low cost and well made. Won't break the bank if damaged or stolen, which happens all too often in professional kitchens.
I just don't get on with global, I know they are good knives but I just don't like the feel, maybe it's my big hands, I've got various knives love my henkels, and wustoffs, and like my lo shen, but for value I've had some cracking Japanese kai knives I got from tk max here in uk, I got a henkels from tk max too for a fraction of retail due to a scratch on the handle.
