Thanks for sharing - so are u saying we need a guide even in May/June? Would you recommend hiring a car and driving in summer time or use public transport
Good luck with public transport. Don’t underestimate the language barrier at all. I suggest getting a guide irrespective of the weather. In the mountainous regions the weather changes very quickly. May June is still quite cold. You’ll most likely get snow in the higher altitude areas. I don’t want to scare you or exaggerate but this is a story the guide told me that there was a group that drove up to big Almaty lake in may or so with simple jackets. And the weather changed drastically, they eventually died because the snow storm blocked the roads, no one could rescue them and the cold weather got to them.
I don't agree with what you say. Not knowing what you are expecting you will entirely allow nature to bring its beauty to you. Maybe you might not have traveled to unfamiliar places like Iceland and Norway, but it's the most exhilarating when you don't know what is in front of you. It absolutely would blow your mind when you see something unusual and I doubt you had such an experience before
Well I’m more like go with the flow person and Kazakhstan has definitely changed me and my perspective towards travel and unknown countries like this. However, not all, but most Indians do not prefer unfamiliar territories and like to know what they’re getting into. I agree with you when you allow nature to bring you it’s beauty with no resistance the feeling is unimaginable.
Hi Amreen, How easy/difficult is traveling to the remote places like Saty, Altyn Emen, etc,. Seems public transport aren't that reliable for places out of the cities. Or would renting a cab be a comfortable option for throughout the tour?
Because it’s a neither here nor there kinda month. It’s a shoulder month. It’s not snowy except you might find some in shymbulak and it’s not green yet. The trees are naked. The beauty of the country half baked. Hence people aren’t talking about April.

Hi, Thanks for the informative video. Me and my Wife are planning for Kazakhstan during December 15th to December 20th. Can you please help me with a tour guide? It will be really helpful
Hey Rahul sure. Please send me a dm on Instagram @justgowithamreen. I’ll assist you.
Hi Rahul, which flight have you booked, me trying to travel after dec 15, not yet finalized due to some exams but need an idea
Planning to travel in November with a 1 yo baby for a bday celebration. I hope we will push through, just thinking about the weather though as we have a 1 yo in tow.
Bad idea. I don’t advice it at all with a 1 year old. I would be ok if it were only adults but I don’t advice with an infant. And by default you’ll need a guide at that time. Don’t even think about self-driving.
Did u visit to aktau? I keen to know about aktau city plz?
No I haven’t been to Aktau. Aktau is a 5 hour flight away from Almaty.
so informative post and much needed, thank you for it , whether january is good to go or feb?
Thanks a lot. Neither of those months are suitable. Second half of March can be considered.
Can u plz suggest some good and reliable tour guides!??
Dm me on Instagram @justgowithamreen. I organize private tours in central asia
Thank You very much, You have explained almost everything in the video. I'm planning to visit Almaty region with family for 5 days in the last week of October. I love driving myself (with a tour guide) to explore the places. Can you suggest a decent tourist guide and a car rental company.
Thanks for watching. I’m glad you found it useful. I did not rent a car in Almaty. But I’m sure there are options at the airport. You can check rentalcars.com as well. But send me a dm on Instagram @justagowithamreen and I can share more details with you.
I was thinking of cancelling my Kashmir trip and go to Kazakhstan during mid feb. Suggestions?
I’d rather do Kashmir. You can’t see or do much during Feb in Kazakh. Or push your trip to March.
Hi ..loved your videos …
In January first week I am planning a trip with family with 3 yrs old daughter..
Is it safe …
Thanks a lot. If you have to go to Kazakhstan I must tell you that this is not the time to go. All the lakes are frozen. Roads are blocked and there is very little to do in the city of almaty
How much sallary the nanny or massage therapist in kasakhistan.
Sorry I promote tourism. I can’t answer that
I’m coming this may 14 to 22 can you help me about tour guide and company that is cheap. Thanks
Hey sure. I have a travel company helping people visit Kazakhstan. Send me a dm on Instagram. @justgowithamreen
Is Almaty safe to explore as a solo female traveller
200%. I was a solo female traveler there.
Hii, I just wanted to reconfirm. How would be the climate in 1 or second week of March. Can you suggest on this. Planning to visit in March 2024.
Weather is still cold but bearable. I’m hosting a group trip first week of March too.

Not really. It’s quite cold. Roads blocked. Weather is unpredictable
In which month you can cheap flight tickets from delhi or mumbai? Also the itenary for 5 nights. Also whether i can plan some other neighboring coutry to travel from kazhakistan?
I’m really not sure what month it’s the cheapest but off season is definitely what you can look at. Perhaps early March. End of November. Check this for itineraries Ideal Itinerary For Almaty | Trip To Almaty In 2023
