Auto insurance bet idea:
The amount it takes to insure a vehicle depends mostly on what that vehicle is. It costs more to replace all or part of a more expensive thing. I have a secret that cannot not be true, because high school physics: when enough of your neighbors switch to a large truck or SUV, your insurance can be counted on to increase in time. When a larger fraction of your town’s personal vehicle fleet is more massive, there is more damage per crash. Even if you still drive the same thing, when the purchases of others make there be more kinetic energy absorbed by vehicles per crash, insurers have to charge you more.
That’s some of the background for lately rapidly increasing auto insurance rates.
Well. I think EVs will be smaller.
Therefore I think that the US personal vehicle fleet will be slowly decreasing in mass per vehicle.
Therefore I think that the US personal vehicle fleet will experience less energy absorbed by vehicles per crash.
Therefore I think that less damage will be done per crash.
So basically the idea is this: might margins for auto insurers have this subtle long term trend working in their favor? There’s no way this thought is priced in. Is there? So maybe auto insurers are a bit undervalued if the market is otherwise efficient?
For all I know there’s so much competition in auto insurance that this lower damage per crash will just be savings passed on to consumer rather than any of it going to me the investor?
time to take your profits
I loved this update, mostly because it confirms my own bias🤣. I'm also in love with Lam, SIMO, MCHP, Pure Storage, and TSMC. You two made some incredible calls this year-incredible! Good job! I did look at Renesas, of which I'm a fan, but I took Tokyo Electron instead. I had never heard of Pure Storage, SIMO, and many of these other smaller names before joining your Discord and YT channels. You offer incredible value for money. Thank you!!
Thanks Shannon! We'll do a video that goes against our own biases soon enough!
Renesas best future top 👍
pstg! Let's go!
Qualcomm didn't take you by surprise!! Great Call Nic!
My take on it is that the impending loss of Apple as a customer was overpriced into QCOM and then they didn’t even lose Apple after all.
Greatly enhanced the cyclical upward move that woulda been there regardless
Thanks for the update. Great insight as usual
Love these types of videos. Always good to reflect on your winners as well as your losers!
Cheers 😊
Great video!
Enjoy your holiday guys.
Thanks Max!
Excellent chart on business cycle for the four sectors. Wise to be optimistic on the automotive and industrials which are bottoming now.
Rewatched and see that I should probably wait and start a Pure Storage position if it sells off after the next earnings, thanks for the redirection guys!
man, Rambus - RMBS, Western Digital -WDC, and Allegro Microsystems don’t get too much love 😂 and attention.
Sorry, only so many we can get to in video! Our video content revolves around our most meaningful research. Everything else plus some extras are over on the Discord channel.
Channel = Unique Deep Value Insight POV from different, but important angles of the chip sector. This is greatly appreciated research insights and analysis that has grown my understanding. One of the few channels that I follow, and I love the tandem team cast.🎉🎉🎉😊
Thank you for watching, and for the kind words!
Did you guys plan the closely matching shirts ? Thanks for sharing your views and input great Channel guys keep up the good work
This one was unintentional! Next time we'll coordinate.
Thank you for the support, we appreciate it!
What is a "full position" in your portfolio? Do you also invest in EtFs ? If so , would you share the breakup of your entire portfolio?
Since these are cyclical would you sell them once they approach top of the cycle?
Love the market segment breakdown! I believe QCOM still has upside as a leader in the Consumer PC & Smartphone market. What companies would fall under Cloud & Enterprise? Would these be software plays? It feels like NVDA has a stranglehold on this segment as well.
Did you see the recent software videos we did over the last few weeks?
Could you please do a review on Micron prior to their earnings' report this Wednesday please? Thanks guys and we are almost 70K subs! :D
Hi @camilorios7821 thank you for watching! We generally don't do pre-earnings coverage, but we'll do Micron after they report Wednesday.
@@chipstockinvestor That works as well... thank you guys!
Thx guys for the update- I had a feeling in that original PSTG video that Kasey was onto something, and I was right! I think as the price of flash memory continues to come down while its performance continues to exceed that of the "donkey cart" mechanical drives, they should flourish. I hope we're right! Note to PSTG salespeople: "NOW GET OUT THERE AND SELL SELL SELL!!!"
In short run limits are amount of capex of largest customers
I started following the page about 5 or 6 months ago. From the very beginning, I saw the value of information you delivered to viewers. At the time, when you referenced to the flow chart of the semiconductors & cybersecurity flow chart I was lost, but I knew you were sharing great information that I wanted knowledge of. As of today, I'm not an expert by far, but I am more knowledgeable & have made some educated purchases with the assistance of your explanations of the flow chart of the industry,10k, and financials of course. Thank you, guys. Keep up the great work.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Oooohhh yeah, you do sometimes sound like robots. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Mike! Glad we've been of help. We're still working to blend in with the humans though.
They don’t sound robotic. In fact, the duo sound mellifluous!
@@kylepang5547 very kind of you Kyle!
Thank you for the video! Is there a reason you prefer Onsemi over STMicro? They seem quite similar but I’ve always seen STM as the leader. Curious if you feel differently!
For SiC, STM is the leader again. We bet Onsemi on long term operating margin expansion potential.
What is the love for aehr?
Im surprised no AMAT, whats latest view on AMAT please?
They did a video recently.
Great video!
Could you tell ud your opinion about albemarle? I lost a lot in it 😢
Did you see yesterday's mid year update? No different from our outlook on ALTM. A recovery will take time.
ALB isn’t only down due to lithium prices, there is also growing uncertainty about future lithium demand given recent reported advances in sodium ion batteries.
I don’t know. I like risk, I’ve added to my ALB during this drop under 100 bucks.
Anyone know the lithium content of new sodium ion batteries? The designs I saw still used some lithium.
@@chipstockinvestor ok thanks!
I'll keep my position in Albemarle and control my emotions!
@@SigFigNewton it can be right... But sodium ion batteries need time to become mainstream and replace lithium!
Experts are saying, it would take around 10 years for sodium ion batteries to be able to compete with lithium!
My vanguard account doesn’t let me buy Japanese stocks, I’d own renesas by now

Sry, hadn’t insulted my own generation for a while and I try to be fair
