- Ever been curious about selling your coins at a coin show? What about buying strategies at a coin show? Here is list of items discussed and that can be gleaned from this video:
Arrive early- Early bird gets the worm (or Mexican Onzas). If you're SELLING at a coin show, one of the advantages of arriving early is that you can have access to the other dealers' inventory before the public arrives.
Be there towards the end- Sometimes deals can be had because dealers don't want to lug everything home.
Bring a variety of inventory
Try to bring something the other dealers don't have (like Mexican silver Libertads).
Know your stuff.
Be ready to bargain.

Many years ago when Tom Delory worked for Harlan he sold me a 1016 d Mercury. Years later a sent it to PCGS. It came back vg 08. Nice to remember those years

Not a gun holster at all, just a nice pair of suspenders from a custom leather work shop! After I left the service I stopped carrying everyday!

Cool. I've cut back on buying ancients online because the photos often look different from the coin in hand. I love a coin with beautiful eye appeal. The best ancients dealer in the country is CNG out of Lancaster, PA, but I don't think they have a shop you can visit, and I don't have time to go to shows. Will have to make it a point to visit HJB next time I'm in Chicago. My recollection is that they were always pretty pricey, but I might be willing to pay up for the right coin.

Hi T love your coin shop videos. Curious to know why they pay their distributors more for product than they pay their loyal customers who sell back when the customers money keeps their lights on ?
Might be a good question for my next visit. My suspicion is they hate paying dealers through the nose, but have no choice when customers selling over the counter is inconsistent.
