Very nice
HL community is still alive and strong
this won't go unnoticed by valve !!! They released Half Life : Alyx without a word. They will surely release hl3
That slow motion crowbar kill with the valve theme was the embodiment of badass
This is exactly the case, when "fan-made" means better, than "professional".
@@vibaj16
Looking at newest "Resident Evil" movie - i'm glad, that there's never been any "professional attempt".
@@vibaj16, it’s for the best, fan made projects are usually lower budget, but always keeps the heart of the project as a base, which means it’s gonna be better than most professional attempts, it’s also a plus when you don’t have to change every little thing to conform to today’s standards, that’s why I would love for these guys to become the backbone, and hopefully the stars of a show or movie based on the game. But since this is fan made, it’s probably better off if we just give them time and maybe some profit to help out in the long run.
You did yourselves proud. Wow - Great stuff! You deserve the funding for a featured length movie!
unfortunately you would need to add at least a couple of zeros for us to be able to do anything realistic as a series or feature length.
@@ijduncan maybe valve helps you, they still play with the idea of a Half life movie^^ i mean they helped the Black mesa devs aswell ;) they are sometimes very supportive to independent artists.
I think the actor who portrays Gordon is perfect in this role. His facial expressions perfectly justify why he's the silent protagonist.
Though if you wanted to do a joke episode or scene, you could get Ross Scott to play him :D
I love it how he doesn't talk, imagine if some genius would be able to make a half life movie where the main char actually never speaks :D
Gordon is going through horrendous things. Being silent is nothing
I would love to see this whole thing filmed again with Ross Scott as Freeman, and the whole way through he's just rambling and ranting.
G-man pulling his best agent smith impression. Hugo Weaving would be impressed
The fact that Freeman talked makes it even stranger that he's so silent all the time.
no need to talk when your too busy having ptsd of your colleagues being shot and killed
My favorite part of this is when Gordon said it’s crowbarring time and crowbar all over the place
Ok
So... the CGI was great
Acting was perfect
G-man was ok
action sequences were fun
I love the attention to detail and staying true to the source (like everyone actually uses an MP5 or a Spas-12, HECU marines have the same type of white-green camo, the Black Mesa screen at 2:48 looking almost exact as the stuff in Black Mesa. the Apache Helicopter was identical, the Black Mesa containers, the music and sound effects...)
Goddamn apart from the Vortigaunt this thing is perfect.
huh, funny thing I noticed, the HEV charger at 1:39 doesn't look like a HEV charger, however this thing is almost identical to those electric panels that the player uses in Half Life 2 Episode 1 to restore power to certain dark areas in the underground of City 17
@@Neo2266. Damn I didn't even notice the HEV. They really had a high level of attention to detail
Eh more like screamed, besides, he actually talked all the way back in their first episode back from 2012
@@cargo1522 Yes its modeled from that one. And the HEV suit is also modeled from black mesa. one was cgi the other was foam and plastic.
5:46 host_timescale 0.3
What if he's playing the 1998 release? Technically, putting in host_framerate 0.3, causes the game to speed up immensely. If he's on Source, host_timescale 0.3 would work. Really, it depends which version of Half-Life this takes place in. Half-Life (1998), Half-Life: Source, or Black Mesa.
The accuracy of not making a ep3 because Valve hates 3 is hilarious
I don't understand why stuff like this is swept under the rug by the algorithm when some moron can make a 10 min commentary and get a million views, God bless.
@@ijduncan i mean, if you REALLY want to keep with this amazing series you should monetize them
@@GregTheBaumann We don't own the IP, nor would we want anybody to have to watch an ad so we can collect a very small amount of ad revenue
@@ijduncan Gaben should totally give you official blessing, since he will probably never give us HL3 anyway. Did you try to ask him? To give you Valve stamp of approval, at least?
@@FalconRS valve gave us there stamp of approval. It's on Steam. They support it by letting us do it.
This series embodies the half-life universe so well, fantastic job. Can't wait to see what your next project will be.
sadly it cant be another episode of the freeman chronicles, because half life and the number 3 dont fit together.
I hope this continues, would love to see Adrian Shephard incorporated into this, bumping into freeman while being completely unaware of what the HECU is doing due to not receiving orders
I'm in love with Bernhard Forcher now lol He really deserved a "Bernhard Forcher as Gordon Freeman." And thank you for not going Valve's way and make him silent. He also talked like a scientist, instead of saying that's our best shot, he said "that's our best hope." Attention to details, even if some of them flew past me (like the F to pay respects mentioned in the comments), was fascinating. My score goes to eleven
Netflix or some company should fund this into a series or full movie , you guys have so much potential
That ending credits sequence is some 007-tier quality.
Thank you all so much for making this little masterpiece!
2:38 look. At. The. Door. On. The. Back
PLEASE SHARE! So all fans and none fans alike get to see it. Tweet @bad_robot for a chance for more.
A good live action video game adaptation doesn't exi-
there's one for left 4 dead that was done well, it may have been from these guys too but i'm not sure
edit: nevermind
This is just epic. Valve should be ashamed.
Nah they make great stuff. We wouldn't have the sandbox to play in if it wasn't for Valve.
@@ghettomaster Guess what, here comes Alyx in 23 hours from now. Cut the shaming part out, Valve is a great company.
It's excellent. Almost like getting a Half life 3. If Star Wars and Star Trek are any indication, I suspect we will never see a Half Life 3. If Valve made even one little mistake with it they'd get shredded by the community. Their hands are tied. Damned if they do. But safer if they don't. But, hey, in it's absence people like you will be inspired to do amazing work like this. Who could complain. It's a beautiful thing.
Luckily theres a game in decelopment called the borealis project based off of laidlaws letter. It looks extremely promising and whole its not valve it should be a great wrap up to the series
2:22 Freeman talked
I had the same reaction, but I'm glad he's still quiet most of the time, rather than being restricted from full interaction with his allies.
So proud of being one of the first 100 watching it live with the team ! It was a beautiful present from you ! Far from learning my wife cheated on me. Thanks for making my night brighter
To think that this is a fan made movie for a game that is a quarter of a century old, absolutely incredible!
Mr. Freemaaaaaan.... THIS WAS AMAZING! WHO SAID WE WHERE NOT GOING TO GET A HALF-LIFE MOVIE!?!?
if valve ever decides to make this, we need you on the creative team
Freeman rushing with a crowbar to a heavily armed soldier holding a shotgun gotta be on of the most badass moments in history
Why this one only has about 4k views? WE NEED MORE!! This is my favorite crhistmas gift. Thanks a lot, Chariotdrive.
"Three helicopters plus tanks incoming"
Freeman : *That not a challenge for me*
In those moments when time slows down, Gordon literally conveys the theory of relativity.
Just rewatched all of the episodes, the BTS, tagged and reviewed on Steam. I was going to post the donate link here but it looks like it got taken down. Obviously on a production like this everyone left in the hole. Most of your notes include lines thanking the fans for not giving up, but even more importantly, THANK YOU to everyone on the team who kept the faith. Hopefully the pride of release validates all of the slog and despair during the inevitably messy middle. You all are an inspiration to other creators hoping their projects will still somehow see the light of day. I can't overstate the importance of that last line.
"3 hostiles!" The scientist did nothing
Огромное спасибо за старания! И я, если честно, очень разочарован малыми просмотрам и подписчиками. Это же просто напросто изумительно!!!11
You guys have done more for the Half Life series over the course of these episodes than Valve's done in years.
What I LOVE about this the most is how believable it is. Great job, WOW!!
This is a 9.5 out of a solid, shiny 10 from me. All superbly true to the core, gloriously acted and animated.
Minor things that could've been improved are:
G-Man...
Vort...
06:05 - that grunt should've been reloading or at least try to kick back, cuz his spas was aiming at Gordon's head the whole time
Jesus christ! Man this is beyond awesome! Why isnt this get million views already?
If a half life movie ever happens, you’re directing it, no questions asked.
and just like the real games, there is no episode 3. but for real, this is awesome and incredible quality
When that music started playing I knew things would get epic
location: los angeles
location of black mesa: new mexico
*visabile confusion*
Been waiting for this episode for so long and it definitely delivered! Absolutely loved it and if ever we are blessed enough to get a full blown HL series, you guys are THE BEST team to do that. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into this❤️ Always a fan of your work
I think they really missed an opportunity to show off how tough the hazard suit is with bullets just pinging off of Gordon and lightning bouncing him around I think that would have looked pretty badass
I just love this! the writing, directing, casting and visual effects is awesome. Can't wait for more. You guys deserve a Hollywood-sized budget to make it a full-length movie. Great work!
I just realized that your amateur movie is way more professionnal than most of the russian movies with serious budgets. I wander what would happen if U had serious figures on your hands?!...
@@ijduncan I bet U would. Srsly. Great gob. Probably your work is the best HL movoe so far. I saw a bunch
This perfectly represents how Freeman survives seemingly impossible odds knowing he will probably not make it out alive, great work!
That cqc sequence with the vort must have been nuts. My man Gordon had to pull out the crowbar.
These are seriously good for a fan made movie. Imagine if these guys actually got the funding for an actual movie.
5:14 It's normal to shiver when he prepares the crowbar
Came here expecting crap, but was surprised how well done this was. Good job!
6:03 bro got hit with the banger valve theme
Now, make a Half Life 2 Movie pls
We are ready. Just need the 15 or so million dollars to do the shoestring budget version.
@@ijduncan I must say that your style thus far could make it happen quite readily. The main thing you are missing is computer graphic caliber.
Got flashbacks to the game-play in Half Life. Excellent work. Wish a full-feature movie could be made.
Simply impressive! The actor who played Gordon Freeman deserves an Oscar, at some points I felt like I was in the game itself, it's a shame we don't have a Half Life series, it would win a lot of awards.
I'm Brazilian and an eternal fan of Half Life \o/
truly living up to Valve’s name. never can count to three
but seriously this is some serious work of art
After 2 years, these finally showed up in my recommendations. And since then, my searches for half life and gordon freeman related stuff has actually increased! The hell, algorithm?
One of THE best Half-Life fan movies EVER! This doesn't dissapoint, despite the long wait. Continue to make these, no matter how long it takes
This makes me really happy
Me when Freeman talked: "Freeman you Fool!"
This video make feel how really things was bad at black mesa and how they actually trying to survive when all hopes are gone
Anyone noticed that after dealing with the Vorti Gordon became leader of the group? Until then they were all following Barney (who also did the talking).
That's some nice detail about the group's dynamics - great writing!
You nailed the Half Life atmosphere and Gordon. Well done, very exciting watch.
SO SPOT ON this SHOULD be a thing!
Amazing, it must have cost a small fortune
Should I make another episode?
Yes, your project is amazing and Its the first time i see something like this
That would be amazing
yes
yeah
yes please these are so cool
