Now all I have to do is figure out how to make the bar to hold on to then my setup will be complete. I'm gonna try to make it out of wood and see how that goes. Thanks for this great idea. It is way better than some other videos I have seen of just taping the mat to a wood board with packing tape.
So happy I found your channel
Thanks for watching, fam🙌🏼 My channel also has gaming music DJ mixes that I upload once and a while. Enjoy🎵
Thank you so much for this! Much cheaper fix than buying a top of the line pad!
I picked up their "tough" pad off a charity seller on eBay for 10 bucks, and happened to have an old chair mat that i havent used in like 10 years.
Pad works perfectly but moves, my biggest take aawy here was that I need to get carpet tape. As soon as im over Covid (like... no longer sick, not "im over this shit" ) im gonna hit up home depot and grab some to make this happen
Man that is a steal, nice find! And hope you get better, soon! That doesn’t sound fun😅 Glad the vid helped with the carpet tape idea💯🙌🏼
I'm late to the party, but this is a great mod, thanks for the advice as this was exactly what I was seeking... Thank you!!
Nah never too late to start DDR lol! Glad it helped and hope you stick around for more content💯
Hey man, I love your vids. Would it be possible to provide the link where you've purchase your ddr pad. Thank you.
Hey thanks for watching! I actually got these as a birthday gift in 2005 but I think you can still find them online

Hey man I just picked up a chair mat today to do something like this, got some helpful ideas and tips from your video thanks! I was going to put construction glue from a caulk gun because I didn't know about carpet tape. For the video I think it would have been helpful to describe what you were doing because I had no idea what all that string was for and looks like hours of sewing for no reason I could determine, I'm still not too sure. I'll also check out the mixes, thanks for mentioning those!
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to explain as best as possible and this is my first tutorial. I usually just do gaming content and dj mixes lol
Also about the sewing, I did mention that is for attaching the neon light border to the edge of the ddr pad for an added aesthetic. I did mention these items at the beginning of the video
I don't know how you don't have more comments, you make excellent shows. Dumb question, I don't personally hang out on redit, but do you post there? They have a pretty great gaming zone.
Probably because my channel isn’t a mainstream format; I mean it’s retro gaming + DJ mixes so it’s an odd combo lol! Yep my Reddit profile is Dcep_1501.
Thanks for the continued support man!
what i do is get this giant white board my mom used for online school and then just put the mat on top and it barely moves when you use it
What were the songs being played in the demo at the end from which games?
Not 100% sure but i think the first song “Dark Black Forest” is on DDR Max, the second song I don’t remember, and the third song is “Drifting Away” on DDR Max 2.
Sweet. Im getting a little better on light mode. The fast songs and jumping inputs can't be done for me. lol
Have you look into ltek ddr pad? It does cost around 300 but might be a good upgrade in the future for your set up.
I don’t know if I would want to spend that much haha. I will do another upgrade to these later on with wood and plexiglass. Thanks for the info, though🙌🏼
@@djd-cepticon7215 mine just came in. came out $574 in total. it better be worth it!
@@ducdu4136 wait $574(US)?? What did you buy? These soft pads should only cost $35 or less.
@@djd-cepticon7215 ltek pad with handle bar. Easy to set up and loving it so far.
How do you get the mat to not move while playing?
I think you missed a big part of the tutorial lol. I explain everything step by step😋
What's the name of the song that you played in the game ?
@@DDSmols omg finally, thank you man I never thought that I'd found it
@@DDSmols much appreciated my dudes, playing stepmania myself to lose weight haha
Any mod for using shoes on it
I saw somebody put a thick piece of plexi glass over the top. It’s on YT, somewhere
I don’t think so, I’d be more worried about how much it would cost do get a big piece of acrylic glass that size.
In the future, don’t use wish because it’s low quality and a scam.
Hm I’ve never been scammed from Wish and the few items I’ve bought have lasted a long time. Sucks if you got scammed though, man.
The thing with arcade dance games is that the more you progress, the more pressure the soft pad needs to withstand. Not only I have to worry about the pad not staying flat and slipping but also the sensors from the pad. I have a "Stay Cool" DDR pad and I have a hard time doing 8th note runs because the down panel doesn't respond well, when I do 16th note runs in the arcades. Anyways, nice tutorial. It's just unfortunate that arcade dancing at home for experienced players is such an expensive affair.
Yea I’ve seen some REALLY pricey setups. I’m not that hardcore lol, I just play once a while. Thank you for watching💯🙌🏼
