LOL when you said you had a teaser at the end and you would not say anything... i was all pumped up.... then you show a turbo and i was claping and laughing.... the thing is it was half past midnight and my wife was like "shut it down its late". Im from Portugal and i own a 2001 mk2 Saxo VTS with 150 000 km, my father bought it new. In 2017 he bought a new car and i kept the saxo as my daily driver car, done some work to it but its stock only maintenance done. In Portugal the VTS is the 1400cc 75 hp and the Saxo CUP is the 1600cc 16 valve 120 HP. (in portugal the CUP name is for 1600cc 16V 120HP) im loving your videos from the start keep up the good content.
BooM! Check out that reveal!!! Can not wait to hear that "stustustu". Gearbox looks immaculate! Looking forward to a 20 years later cover shoot for French Car Mag!
Really cool stuff! I'm an amateur AX (previous model to Saxo) enthusiast myself, but seeing a few cool younger Saxo bits is like so cool. I love how so many things are very similar, but better in sometimes very obvious and sometimes very subtle ways
Alright bud, subbed found you off Facebook group, looking good! Always loved a saxo. I've got a rover 100, 1.8LT with a pg1 box and LSD to fit. Should be fun when done. Good videos 👍🏻
Wow, who doesn't love a rebuilt gearbox with a LSD..... especially when everything looks better than when it left the factory 🤔. Great work as usual Sean, it's going to be an awesome car when you've finished 😉👍👍
As per usual top work buddy! Rear end of the clio is early ready to drop back in so expect your socials to be tagged like mad as I post up your good work!
A transmission isn't supposed to be bolted in a cross pattern to be perfectly sealed and make great contact to prevent leaks? Maybe there's exceptions if there is let me know, but was kinda strange to see him tighten the case that way
@SeanPendlebury I Did watch a video on living life fast channel... on the blue 106turbo build & remember saying about vts boxes... your build is very professional & tidy, do you know once completed what kind bhp you will roughly achieve building the lump in this application... & chocolate boxes 🤔🤣
@@49CCHRIS Thanks for watching and the kind comments. Torque will be my limiting factor. Even with a BE box they aren't bullet proof. Power wise, not sure, I think the setup is capable of 400-450 but I wont run it there. I want some reliability so will aim for sub 350ish as a high boost setting.
Alright I finished the video now, great stuff!! Really cool build! I'm definitely going to be following this I had a few questions, if you don't mind What is your opinion on these french gearboxes? In my AX, the part I love the least other than the summer heat is definitely the tranny. Well - maybe I will love it more if I rebuilt it like you did yours 🤣 And those lower control arms - I was very surprised to see those on your car. The control arms you have also fit an AX but I always thought their shape would allow (maybe barely) noticeable flex with more spirited driving - the ones I have look very big, relatively heavy but I don't imagine them bending whatsoever. Is this true in your experience? Or is it not the case at all?
To be honest its hard to say. I have very limited recent experience. When I was a youth I had 4 VT*'s and couldn't say what was a good or bad gearbox. Never had any issues back then so to speak. I know the MA boxes can only take so much hence the reason to move to BE4. I know this will be much stronger but I've never driven an BE box so cant comment. As for the lower arms. No reason not to run them. There is a stiffening option for them, some little plates welded on essentially, but at £60 a corner if they bend I can replace them! In my experience I've never bent one and that includes track use. Not saying its not impossible but I think for fast road applications it's fine.
Hey, I have a MK1 VTR and I would like to rebuild a gearbox, but I cannot find the manual for it anywhere...anyone knows where to find it? - Thank you very much in advance!

What a rebuild! Good job!
Absolutely great build!!
Great and impressive job.
Thank you.
what did this be4 box originally come out of?

Nice one mate. Look forward to seeing it
Fitting my gripper tomorrow, be4 also but mines on the car so upside down for me...

Sam is a genius! What's the down side to using a vts gear box? ⚙️
Significantly weaker for high torque applications. Basically chocolate boxes!
