  • On June 15, 2024 we hiked to Ouzel Lake located in the Wild Basin of Rocky Mountain National Park. We bypassed Ouzel Falls and took the campsite trail to reconnect to the Ouzel Lake Trail. Please be sure to have a GPS and know how to use it. There are a number of trail junctions that you have to turn at. You could easily end up hiking to another area. It was a spectacular day and beautiful hike. 10 miles and 1800 feet of elevation gain.

Love Wild Basin trails, kinda surprised Ouzel was doable this early, tends to be a damp hike from the turn off, but a very pretty and nice video.

Thank you so much. We can't wait to get to Bluebird Lake, a few miles beyond but a whole different world with melting snowpack conditions right now. 😊
